I have come across several moisturizing masks claiming different things but today, I am doing a Moisturising Mask Smack-Down! and I’ve got four to compare for you. I am going to tell you my honest opinion about each one. A little different from other smack-down posts you’ve read…I hope.
No like seriously, my HONEST opinion. Like what I actually wrote down whilst testing. And like it or not, it’s what happens in my mind when I test stuff…be prepared…
GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment:
I got this cute little mini GlamGlow Thirsty Mud jar in California in the beginning of January. I was REALLY excited as I really wanted to try this for ages. But, it’s thick and tough to smooth on my face. AND it smells a bit like Playdough. GlamGlow ThirstyMud was enhanced with an exclusive Dewdration complex — This is a perfect combination of hyaluronic and citric acids which improves moisture levels. This moisturizing mask also contains fruit sugars and acids from oats and apples which work great for soothing irritated skin. Use of GlamGlow ThirstyMud results in a supple and youthful radiance.
La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Masque
La Roche-Posay Hydraphase Intense Masque pale blue in colour, which is cool. Which makes you think that it’s hydrating because blue is the universal colour of HYDRATION. This product thoroughly hydrates the skin and even if your skin is as dry as the desert, this is able to make a significant difference, making skin feel more soothed, supple and soft all thanks to Hyaluronic Acid fragments contained in this mask. Applying a generous layer on your face and leaving it in for 10 minutes a day does all the magic.
Clarins HydraQuench Cream Mask
Clarins HydraQuench Cream Mask is heavy and scents like walking through a flower garden. This is a rich, creamy, non-drying Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Mask that immediately replenishes moisture levels, restoring radiance. It is meant for REALLY dry skins and works well for that skin type. It also works well as a rescue treatment for the skin when it feels dry, irritated, dehydrated, or sun damaged.
Avene Soothing Moisture Mask
Avene Soothing Moisture Mask is one of the most popular and the most effective moisturizing mask. While most of the moisturizing masks on this list have a significant scent, this does not have any smell at all. It generally feels nice on application and not too heavy. What I love the most about this is that it makes my skin soft, smooth and better than before anytime I use it. It even reduces the redness in my cheeks! And no breakouts. Simple! Yet it WORKS.
Seriously, none of these brands are bad…but the Avene Soothing Moisture Mask? Is what personally I have found that my sensitive, dehydrated skin truly responds to and loves. Avene Soothing Moisture Mask is now my go to moisturizing mask and I use it ALL the time. Especially since I’ve been going to the gym and showering every day. I use this pretty much after every shower and my face is happy!
