The Messiest Mask I’ve Ever Used

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask.jpg

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask

I love Fresh. And I love masks. So when they introduced the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Vibrancy-Boosting Face Mask I decided to splurge.

And I do sort of like it. Well, it’s full of good stuff like lemon and orange fruit extracts from a concentrated citrus fruit paste of crushed oranges, lemons, and clementines with AHA Fruit Acids to gently exfoliate and smooth the skin and make your skin glow. And it smells really good too! Like a great, fresh squeezed glass of OJ!

But…they’re not kidding when they say it’s a paste! I’d say that it’s like a fruit salsa you guys. When you apply it, there’s chunks of fruit all over your face. You can’t walk around and do things with this mask on your face otherwise you’ll leave bits of it everywhere. It’s just really messy.

But, it does give your skin a brightening lift. I like using it in the morning for a quick 10 minute skin boost. I just wish it wasn’t so chunky, because taking it off is the weirdest thing ever. It kind of feels like you spilled food on your face tbh. Again I have to say, WHY. Lot’s of whys I’ve been wondering lately hahaha.

The messiest face mask I’ve ever used, that’s for sure. What’s the messiest face mask you’ve encountered?

Ok, so if you haven’t heard yet, I am quitting beauty blogging. It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally made the decision and you know what? I am SO HAPPY. It’s just time for me to go.

I have a month left on my server before the blog disappears, so I thought I’d just blog about stuff I’ve been wanting to talk about but have been too busy and not very motivated to. So, before I say Aloha to you all, welcome to: THE LAST BLOG POSTS. This, is gonna be FUN hahahahahahahahaha…….

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum:When You Wanna Keep that Hot Dog Smell With You All Day Long

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum.jpg

Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum

It seems like pretty much everybody uses and loves Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum, but for the longest time it wasn’t sold here in Canada(it is now). Last year sometime, I picked it up in California and it sat in my skincare backup drawer because I really love my Hylamide C-25 Booster and wanted to use up my vial before cracking this expensive puppy open.

What do I like? The packaging. I like the airless pump. It’s great. That’s about it though. I really didn’t notice anything life changing about it, and it’s not any better than my cheaper love, the Hylamide C-25 Booster.

Other than the cool pump I can honestly and unequivocally say that I FREAKIN’ HATE THIS STUFF.

Now, usually I’m ok with scents in facial products. I know that most of the time they shouldn’t be there and that they can cause reactions for people, but hey sue me-I like a nice rose scent or violet scent when I apply my skincare. It doesn’t bother me. Usually.

But this stuff? STINKS. Like hot dogs. And the stink lasts for quite awhile too. I don’t care what people say about how good it is, I can’t stand walking around with my face smelling like a hot dog for hours and hours. Like WHY.

So now, I have this expensive meat sandwich stinking Vitamin C serum sitting in my drawer that I should use, but don’t wanna because I can’t stand the smell. Sigh. Third World Problems really suck, hey? 😉

Have you tried this? Do you notice the hot dog smell? Or am I just an always hungry freak?

Yeah, I know I said I was probably gonna start posting less… 😛 But I have some catch-up on a few things I need to get out of the way. And I’ve been sitting around the house resting from the last week in California. My legs are my main MS problem, and they get exhausted after a California trip. It takes a few days for them to feel better again. So, I’ve been blogging because that’s what I do. 😀

Did you know that you can order Murad Skincare online in Canada? I didn’t! Muradcanada.com is open for business and they have pretty cool deals. This weekend they have free shipping with the code LDAY. They also have an Auto-ship feature, where you can pick your fave skincare products and schedule them to be shipped to you as often as you like. Doing that will save you 25% off prices which is great. And for your first order you can get $20 off a $100 order when you enter in your email.

Last month I was sent some skincare samples from Murad to review. I haven’t really tried much from the line before, so I thought why not? I know a lot of people really trust and love the brand.

And they were ok? I mean they were samples, so I can’t really say if they changed my skin or anything as it wasn’t a long enough time to see any real results. But these two sample products Murad sent were my faves and I think they’re worth trying if you’re looking for some new skincare.

Murad Essential C Day Moisture SPF 30 and Murad Age-Balancing Night Cream

Murad Essential C Day Moisture SPF 30, Murad Age Balancing Night Cream

Murad Essential C Day Moisture SPF 30($69) is an antioxidant-rich sunscreen with SPF30, plus it helps maintain your skin’s moisture barrier. It’s a solid moisturizer with sunscreen that doesn’t break me out and that’s a good thing! It’s a little expensive though, but if you love a good moisturizer with sunscreen, then this is worth looking into. What I’d recommend is getting this Environmental Shield Travel Set($50) that includes the Essential-C Cleanser, the Advanced Active Radiance Serum, and this Essential-C Moisture SPF 30 so you can try the Vitamin C line from Murad.

Murad Age Balancing Night Cream($85) was the other product that I liked. It’s really hydrating, with essential fatty acids and Shea Butter. It also contains Retinol to help with wrinkles and to help control occasional breakouts without drying out your skin. My skin isn’t a fan of most retinol products(too irritating) but I liked this one a lot, and will probably purchase this full sized one in the future. Again, it’s a little expensive too though. But then again, it seems like a lot of skincare is getting really expensive these days, right?

While I was in California last week, my skin did not like the extreme heat we experienced. It was 106F and we were sweating a lot with all the work we had to do in putting Marky’s bedroom together. WHY does Ikea furniture have to be so damn heavy???!! I ended up breaking out on my chin and even got a couple of spots on my neck. I haven’t broken out that badly in over a year now, and come to think of it the last time that happened was on the way back from the College Road Trip. And since I don’t usually break out-especially lately-I didn’t bring anything to deal with a major breakout. After some investigating, I decided on trying these two Murad products:

Murad Clarifying Mask.jpg

Murad Clarifying Wipes, Murad Clarifying Mask

At first I actually bought a mask by Dr. Dennis Gross, but that did nothing for me so I exchanged it for the Murad Clarifying Mask($38). It has Kaolin and Bentonite to purify and deep-clean pores by drawing out and absorbing impurities. The Sulfur reduces breakouts, and Zinc and Licorice Extract comfort and calm irritated skin. The instructions say to leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash off, but I think it works amazingly well as an overnight spot treatment. It really does help breakouts look better overnight! It healed my chin in about 2 days without overly drying out my skin. From now on I’m taking this with me on every trip.

The Murad Clarifying Wipes($20) were awesome at cleaning my face periodically in the hot weather. I’d use them to wipe my face of any pore-clogging dirt, sweat and sunscreen. They are gentle and really refreshing too, especially when you’re hot and sweaty. Love them! I kept them in my purse during Disneyland days, and even Terry used them too and liked them. I’m going to put them in my gym bag now, and use them right after Zumba. Good stuff Murad!

What is your sure-fire acne breakout fighter? I don’t usually breakout anymore, especially since I’m getting older. But it seems that every time I go to California I experience some acne. I’m pretty sure it’s because of the heat. See? I told you I’m made for colder, Canadian weather hahaha!
