Milk Makeup Holographic Stick Supernova is the perfect Highlighter to wear when visiting flowers and butterflies

On the last day of summer 2016, Terry and I decided to go visit the Alberta Devonian Botanic Garden. The Devonian Botanic Garden is Canada’s most northerly botanical garden. It was established in 1959 by the University of Alberta, and is located near the town of Devon which is about a 15 minute drive southwest of Edmonton. We haven’t been there for ages, and had never been there to see what fall looks like. We weren’t disappointed at all!

 photo SAM_4217.jpg

Boy, do I love fall. But to be honest it sure arrived pretty early in Edmonton. I think it’s because we had such an early spring. Spring was a good month early this year. I sure hope the early fall doesn’t mean an early winter! I want fall to last a little bit longer please.

 photo IMG_1839.jpg

Not a lot of flowers still blooming right now as you can imagine, but I found a few like this last day of summer sunflower.

 photo SAM_4202.jpg

LOADS of squirrels running around and getting ready for winter. In fact we witnessed an epic 5 minute squirrel chase/fight which I wish I could have videoed to show you but dang those things run fast!

 photo SAM_4183.jpg

A couple of late blooming roses still around too.

 photo SAM_4230.jpg

I need this shade in a lipstick:

 photo SAM_4228.jpg

My favourite section was the poisonous herb garden because so many cool plants!

 photo IMG_1921.jpg

This is the Castor Oil Plant, from which the poison ricin is made from. You know, the one Walter White used to kill Lydia in Breaking Bad. Evil, evil stuff.
 photo SAM_4232.jpg

Hemlock is sure cool looking, hey?

 photo SAM_4190.jpg
The bright berries of Deadly Nightshade-almost neon red right now.

 photo SAM_4196.jpg

I’m not sure about this one, but I think it’s wolfsbane? It’s hard to tell as none are really flowering anymore.

 photo SAM_4198.jpg

The Devonian Botanic Garden has an amazing indoor Butterfly Garden that’s full of all kinds of exotic butterflies. It’s SO COOL you guys. I made a new butterfly buddy haha!

 photo IMG_1879.jpg

They’re all over the trees!  ALL. OVER.

And there’s also a lot of them flying around looking for some place to land like your head, so I had to take protective measures haha!

 photo IMG_1918.png

This guy was HUGE and just napping on the ground. He was bigger than my hand that’s for sure.

MILK MAKEUP Holographic Stick Supernova

MILK MAKEUP Holographic Stick Supernova

When we were on the College Road Trip #2, Marky and I discovered the brand Milk Makeup in San Francisco. It’s an edgy, runway to everyday makeup brand that’s natural. So many cool products, meant for quick application that you can take with you and apply on the go. And of course, it’s not available in Canada. WHY Sephora.

One swatch of the Milk Makeup Holographic Stick Supernova and BOOM we both bought one.

Milk Makeup Holographic Stick Supernova

It’s SO pretty. An iridescent lavender that shifts blue-it’s gorgeous and unlike any highlighter I have ever seen before. At first I thought I was too old to wear it, but I was wrong. It matches my hair and looks so pretty when worn with pink blushes. The best way to apply it is to rub some onto your fingers and tap wherever you want to look like you were kissed by a unicorn. And it lasts pretty well too for a cream highlighter. I’ve already told Marky that she needs to order me a backup!

Milk Makeup Holographic Stick Supernova

And that was my week! Fall, butterflies, and highlighters! Happy Friday all! I’m going to make soup for dinner today! I’m so happy it’s finally cooler! Any fun adventures planned for this weekend? I’m thinking of going to the mountains-maybe. We shall see!

Cover your ears, because I’m tired of being PG.  😛

Me right now: TIRED. AS. FUCK. #TheTragicallyHip

If you don’t follow me on Instagram or SnappyChat…and hello WHY NOT…DO IT HEY…and to be honest I love Snap Chat MORE than Instagram…So, AHEM….you’d know that I’ve been BUSY. Lot’s of BUSY. We had to move Marky to an apartment for her third year of college in California. Let’s just say the house she lived in last year with 5 girls? FOUR OF THEM MOVED OUT. #crazyroomate And because me and Terry are nuts and like road trippin’, we decided to drive her back to California. And heck it was fun! And worth it! I think haha…although my brain is having trouble realizing I’m home finally because the first morning home I woke up to go pee at 6 am and thought: Where’s the stupid bathroom? And MY GOD, what a SHITTY HOTEL ROOM this is…  😀 😀 After all the cool hotel rooms I’ve been in I think I need to redecorate around here!

Ok, wanna see some pics? You got it! Comin’ up!

Montana was our first drive through:

 photo IMG_1102.jpg

That’s about all I have to say about Montana. WIDE. OPEN. SKIES. OH, and the speed limit is almost non-existent there…85 miles an hour which is DRIVE AS FAST AS YOU CAN in kilometres. #truth

Utah

Of course the first place we go to the night we hit Utah is a liquor store LOL. MAN, what a line-up! Never seen so many people wanting booze before. But we got a 50 cent piece as change! Cool!
 photo IMG_1122.jpg

SO, in the middle of downtown Salt Lake City is a HUMONGOUS square dedicated to all things historically Mormon. It’s…something.

 photo IMG_1114.jpg

Big main temple. Fucking HUGE.

 photo IMG_1116.jpg

Another church. I don’t know what it is man. But it looks POINTY. #howmanypointytowerscanwestickonthischurch #DeadliestChurchEverBuilt

 photo IMG_1121.jpg

Were the Osmands part of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir?

The massive pipe organ where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sings, which is another church in the square. True story: they started a demo of the amazing acoustics there, and one girl started tearing a piece of paper in half. I turned to Terry and said: What is happening here…Is she doing a magic trick? 😀 😀  You can’t take me anywhere nice I tell ya’ 😀 😀 Oh, and plus there was a library, and numerous other huge buildings. Never seen so much downtown real estate taken up with church crap in my life. Oh, and STATUES….of Jesus…and the mormon dudes…and the moment Jesus told those sick dudes: HEY, You can have MANY WIVES…all the wives… and this all happened during the WILD WILD WEST of the USA too….like get BENT how can you believe this stuff?!!! #sorryifyouareMormon #waitmaybeNO #sorryNotSorry

But, to be honest we really liked Salt Lake City! It’s a pretty city, with loads to do. And there’s loads of hiking around there, and you know I love hiking. So, I think we’ll probably go back and spend more than 2 days there next time. Maybe even next summer.

Next stop was the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah which has been something I’ve wanted to see FOREVER. Pretty much ever since the movie Warlock came out and they buried that Witchcraft Bible book in there LOL!

 photo IMG_1166.jpg

SO WHITE. And HOT.

 photo IMG_1136.jpg

Marky made a saltball!

 photo IMG_1168.jpg

Salty!
 photo IMG_1318.jpg

Next stop, Santa Rosa, California where Charles Schultz lived and drew my fave comic of all time.

 photo IMG_1224.jpg

I almost cried walking up to the museum. Almost.

So much Snoopy!! LOVE.

 photo IMG_1174.jpg

 photo IMG_1188.jpg
I didn’t know this one tidbit:

 photo IMG_1189.jpg

I want this window in my living room!

 photo IMG_1213.jpg

I could show you SO MANY MORE PICS of Snoopy and The Peanuts Gang, but I’ll spare you haha. If you are a fan, I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area!

San Francisco:

 photo SAM_4058.jpg

It’s just one of my fave cities ever.

 photo SAM_4053.jpg

Haight and Ashbury is always a fun place! So many cool people with hair cooler than mine LOL! I tell ya, it was a huge love fest walking down the street with people telling us they loved our hair and with us telling them we loved THEIR hair LOL!

 photo IMG_1253.jpg

Japan Town…you have to eat there. You just have to.

 photo IMG_1232.jpg

We also stopped by the Walt Disney Family Museum in the Presidio and they had a Pinocchio Exhibit. To be honest, one of my LEAST fave Disney movies, but you gotta appreciate the art work. No pics were allowed so SHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh don’t tell anybody I took this pic of the cossack puppet…I’m a descendant of Kozaks, so it’s my right….Right? HAHAHA!

 photo IMG_1260.jpg

Next stop was moving Marky’s stuff into her new apartment. Putting her bed back together. Shopping for more things she needed. Ikea in Burbank? IS HELL ON EARTH. So much work. And I hate Ikea Burbank. #worstIkeaEver

But all that work was rewarded with a trip to Disneyland of course!

 photo IMG_1285.jpg

That’s the old front entrance sign which is now a decoration at the Disneyland Hotel Pool HAHA

And a trip to the Santa Monica Pier!

 photo IMG_1310.jpg

LOADS of tourists here my god

And then it was time to say goodbye to Marky. It was HARDER this time you guys I don’t know…last year it wasn’t so bad. But this year? UGGGH. I don’t know, as she gets older she gets more sentimental herself I think? So she cries…and then then I cry…and yeah…sob scene. And we left the apartment. And then texted her to come for lunch LOL. And then we had to say goodbye AGAIN. I’m a glutton for punishment, what can I say. I just had a hard time leaving her this time.

Drive back home was nice though. We stopped in Seattle which is another one of my fave cities.

 photo IMG_1373.jpg

Seattle Pike’s Place Market AKA EAT ALL THE FOODS

 photo IMG_1362.jpg
 photo IMG_1517.jpg

Then, home. And you realize she’s really not that far when it only takes 3 days to drive back home to those amazing Alberta sunsets. But I still miss her.

 photo IMG_1575.jpg

What did I buy on the 3 weeks away? Not much to be honest?!! More food things and snacks since we were driving and could take stuff like that home easily. Arrowhead makes this sparking water that’s watermelon flavoured and I LOVE IT and of course it’s not sold here. So I brought a few over the border.  😀  But these oils are one of my fave beauty buys ever!

Shea Moisture Pure Oils

Shea Moisture.jpg

Shea Moisture

They’re little bottles of pure oils by Shea Moisture and you can get them at Target(I MISS YOU TARGET) and WOW SO GOOD. Just a few drops added to my hair conditioner, hair masque, body lotion, DRY hair even- and instant fix! LOVE them all Shea Moisture! And only $9.99 each! I do hate the pumps though as they don’t work well, and be forewarned that the Monoi one will solidify if it’s cold in your house when you get back from a 3 week road trip. #yayforcold

And that’s why I haven’t been around for the last…OMG it’s been 4 weeks hasn’t it???!!!

It has. OOPS. Yeah, well I ain’t apologizing to any PR for anything. I’m back! And I’ll get to posting about stuff again I promise as I am rejuvenated and ready to blog…maybe… 😛

I’ve missed everyone! I hope you are all still there HAHAHA! And still around to talk to!

Yeah, so wow I’ve been gone for awhile, hey? After New Year’s we went back to California to take Marky to Disneyland before she started her second semester of college. Even though she lives about 1.5 hours away from The Happiest Place On Earth, believe it or not she rarely gets to go-she just doesn’t have the time. And since this semester will be even busier for her since she’ll be working on her second year film, we thought we’d give her a little happy happy joy joy before school started.

It rained pretty much every day we were at Disneyland this time though! And not just a little drizzle, we’re talking WOW it’s POURING rain! And that was ok with us since California desperately needs it.

But, boy all that rain sure made Disneyland rather spooky looking!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Disneyland

All these crows descended on the park one afternoon during a rain break-at least a couple of hundred I’d say. Disneyland was still in Christmas/Holiday mode, but it sure felt like Halloween when that happened!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Disneyland

My first Moscow Mule ever! It was raining so hard on Wednesday that we decided to duck into the Paradise Cove Bar for a drink and some Lobster Nachos for a rain break. I wasn’t fast enough to take a pic of the nachos as they got demolished pretty quickly! We even ordered a second order they were that good!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Disneyland

Even though it was raining, we had a really nice time together as a family at Disneyland. In fact, Christmas was pretty cozy and amazing as well. Marky seems so much more grown-up this year, and more relaxed and confident. She even cut her hair shorter to just above her shoulder! Surprised me because her massive long red hair was her signature, but like I said, she’s really changed and had grown tired of the upkeep. I love her hair shorter! She looks more…professional! And part of me wants to cut all of mine off again now since I am growing tired of it as well. We shall see! It’s been almost a year since I’ve been to my hair salon YIKES, so it’s time for a trim at least!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

My Makeup These Days

The makeup I took with me was pretty minimal. My makeup routine is pretty minimal these days anyways. I love the Algenist Repairing Tint & Radiance Moisturizer SPF30 for travel since it has some sunscreen in it. It’s light in coverage, but makes skin look brighter and better and has a nice glow without feeling heavy or tacky at all. I always set my makeup with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light, so that came with me. I really hate heavy under-eye concealers, so lately I only use a bit of Giorgio Armani Correcting Concealer #2 over the dark spots under my eyes. It brightens them up and is so thin that it’s pretty undetectable and I never have to worry about creasing. I don’t get all the heavy under eye concealing that’s the trend these days?! It’s scares me! And then they bake all that concealer with powder so it doesn’t crease?!! WHY. How about not put on so much dang concealer and then it won’t crease on you?!! Newsflash: Not having any shadow or a bit of colour under your eyes looks WEIRD and unnatural-like a doll-we are real people and that’s how we’re supposed to look. Ok, Tracy mini-rant over now 😛   The Clinique Just Browsing Brush-On Styling Mousse is easy for brows, and I like easy. Benefit They’re Real Mascara isn’t my fave, but it stays put without budging so it’s my mascara of choice for travelling. And since I’m still a blush fiend, I like wearing Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera and layering Tom Ford Blush in Frantic Pink so that my blush lasts all day long. To be honest though, on the days it was pouring rain I didn’t wear ANY makeup because why waste my time.

The sun did come out for a bit and what’s better than pretty sunsets and palm trees!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peekjpg

California

Maybe yummy burgers from Umami Burgers in Pasadena are haha!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Umami Burger

We came home this past Sunday night, but I knew something was wrong on the taxi ride home from the airport. I wasn’t feeling right at all. I’m so lucky the vomiting and diarrhea didn’t start earlier on the plane because WOW what a nightmare that would have been. Yup, I got food poisoning either in the Air Canada lounge, or from the Air Canada Business Class meal-WHY. ME. I’ve been sick ever since and today is the first day I feel normal. Still sore all over, but at least I can walk and function like a human now. I’m itching for a Zumba class, but I don’t think I should go until the aches are gone.

But this amazing package from Tatcha Beauty came the other day and boy it perked up my day for sure! Here’s my little Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek:

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek

It’s only been two days of using the products, but it’s pretty much LOVE I can tell you. Food poisoning sucked every bit of moisture outta my body, and I swear my new Tatcha regimen fixed that in one use, especially THIS:

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist-Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek

If you have dry skin, just GET IT. Tatcha Beauty Luminous Dewey Mist is AMAZING and yeah I’m addicted in just two days now. I’ll get into more detail about ingredients and stuff once I finish testing everything out and post my review, but for me this one is a must have in the line and I can see why everyone loves it!

I bought a new cookbook! On my Kindle though-I hate actual cook books these days. I’d rather look at a recipe on my iPAD now.

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

I saw it at Chapter’s Indigo today and it looked really good! And since having food poisoning kickstarted my New Year’s Diet anyways, I thought I’d continue the detox-just in a yummier way LOL.

Although DUDES, this was the cheapest price I could find for a head of cauliflower today:

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

HOLY

HOLY. WOW. Guess broccoli is it from now on, hey? Let’s hope the El Niño rain hitting California helps out the drought so that things like cauliflower can start to grow abundantly again.

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Good ‘Ol Edmonton Sunset I’ve missed you!

And that’s pretty much why I haven’t been around! I apologize for not posting, but we were having such a good time and it was nice to not worry about blogging for once. I’ll get back into some kind of schedule in a couple of days now that I’m home and able to keep food down 😛 Also, I need to give my new buddy some love:

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

New Camera! Samsung NX 300M

I bought this Samsung NX 300M Camera before the New Year but haven’t had time to play with it yet, so I plan on getting better acquainted with it this weekend!

How are you all! Feels like I haven’t talked to you in ages! Hope you are doing well and having a great January so far! What’s new? What have I missed? What fun have you been up to?

00Hey!! How YOU doing’ this week? Are you glad it’s Friday? I am! Although, every Friday I go to Zumba, and today I’ll be missing it because my fave teacher isn’t going to be there. 🙁

11219513_10153092143027007_6541165641176371405_n

I’ve said it before, Zumba Subs SUCK…but I do have to get used to other instructors because she’s not going to be teaching in the daytime as of January 2016!! ACCCKKKKKKkkkkkkkk my heart….HURTS just thinking about it. She is so full of JOY when she dances, and I love that about her. She will keep teaching every Saturday at another facility that’s about 25 minutes away, so I’ll be making that trek for sure now come January. I will have to drive for my weekly Zumba Kick!

McDonald’s has PEANUTS toys with Happy Meals, so…..

 photo IMG_3210.jpg

I didn’t get the meal…just the toy PLEASE and THANK YOU hahaha #NeverGrowUp #CantMakeME
I need to go see the Peanuts movie SOON!! When Terry is in town next week maybe! It’s killing me not seeing it yet!

I went on a little Alberta Adventure this week to two towns that have deep, deep roots in the Ukrainian Alberta history here. First stop was Vegreville, Alberta which is about an hour east of Edmonton. If you have any doubts about this being a Ukie town, they’ll be squashed once you feast your eyes upon this:

 photo IMG_3220.jpg

World’s largest Pysanka or Ukrainian Easter Egg, Vegreville, Alberta

Yep, that’s the world’s largest Pysanka, or Ukrainian Easter Egg in the whole world. And it spins when the wind hits it…hours of entertainment as one of my buddies on Instagram said.

When I visit these towns in Alberta, I like to visit the churches-most of the towns in Alberta were started and settled by Ukrainian Immigrants, so the churches are a pretty vital part of the community. I swear my peoples OWN this province HAHAHA!

 photo IMG_3232.jpg

Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Vegreville, Alberta

The Holy Trinity Catholic Church it pretty typical of Catholic Ukrainian churches here with the gleaning silver domes-really pretty!

 photo IMG_3222.jpg

St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church, Vegreville, Alberta

St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church is very atypical for a Ukrainian church! The shape/architecture is so 70s-leads me to believe that this was rebuilt at some point? I don’t know for sure, but it’s pretty groovy looking for a church, hey? Even the domes are different! Btw, domes are the way you can spot a Ukrainian church MILES away…always gotta have domes!

But like most Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Churches, it has a gorgeous tile mosaic on the front.

 photo IMG_3227.jpg

St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church, Vegreville, Alberta

So much work…so much beauty! I’m actually Ukrainian Greek Orthodox baptized…Terry is a Catholic Ukrainian. One day I’ll have to show you my church in Winnipeg…the one I grew up in…and it happens to be the head church in Canada…it’s MAGNIFICENT.

Next stop was the small town of Mundare, which is another Ukrainian community as you can tell by the town statue:

 photo IMG_3243.jpg

Mundare Giant Sausage Statue

Yup, that the largest Kobasa in the world….it’s a memorial to the founder of Stawnichy’s Sausage which is HUGE in Alberta. Good stuff. And if you happen to visit Mundare on a day they’re smoking the sausages, it’s like SMELL-O-VISION around this…thing…hahaha…yeah.

Elk Island National Park is not far from Edmonton, and since we have a yearly pass to the national parks, we stopped in for a bit!

 photo IMG_3267.jpg

Elk Island National Park

Everything is so frozen there now!

Yup…it’s been cold I guess! Frozen Beaver Dam on a frozen little lake…so pretty.

 L'Occitane Grand Re-opening at WEM.jpg

Elk Island National Park

I don’t get why the park is called Elk Island because it’s all about the bison here! And they are so amazing! These guys were so careful before crossing the highway…they kept looking and checking to make sure no cars were moving before they skipped over…it was amazing to see!

I guess I should talk about SOME beauty products hey HAHA!

Ok, these Yves Rocher Botanical Eye Pencils are REALLY GOOD!!

 L'Occitane Grand Re-opening at WEM.jpg

Yves Rocher Botanical Eye Pencils

Seriously, so many colours and I should probably name them all for you but dudes, there’s like FOURTEEN of them there and it was hard enough peeling off the wrapping from each one…took me 15 minutes I swear so…not happening haha #myteethhurtfrombitingthewrappingoff  AND…I’m too tired to look up the names so SORRY…not really  😛  Honestly, it’s pretty easy to tell what shade is which if you do fancy one of them. Right now they’re only $9.95 and I think that’s pretty decent for an eyeliner that stays put really well. I say go for the crazy lemon, orange and greens! And the teals, if you are a #tealwhore like me and Gaelle @Gaelle’s Journal.

NARS Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Blush Palette

I’m really liking this NARS Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Blush Palette. I’ve pretty much gotten rid of most of my blushes, so this purchase was almost needed haha! I’ve actually never had any of these NARS shades in this palette(some are new of course), and it’s kind of perfect for when I travel. It has a contour/highlight duo and a bronzer too so, easy sell to a blush fiend!

 L'Occitane Grand Re-opening at WEM.jpg

NARS Steven Klein One Shocking Moment Blush Palette

I like it. A LOT. Worth every penny in my eyes!

I happened to be at West Edmonton Mall the other day…why I can’t remember? But I happened to notice that there was a new L’Occitane store being built a few doors down from the current one. And I’ve been told by a little birdie that the Grand Re-Opening is this Friday Nov. 13th, with special promotions going on until Sunday Nov. 15th. It’s a gorgeous newly renovated space that’s BIGGER! BETTER! And there’s some special promotions happening too that you might want to take advantage of fellow Edmontonians:

· From Friday to Sunday, enjoy 15% off any $30 purchase.

· The first 100 customers will receive a free gift with a purchase of $30 or more.

· There will be beverages and a selection of French pastries from Passion de France.

Dudes, I’m going just for the PASTRIES I mean, HELLOooooo! But seriously, L’Occitane is kind of awesome! They’ve partnered with Dress for Success®, an international not-for-profit that promotes the economic independence for disadvantaged women by providing them with professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

 L'Occitane Grand Re-opening at WEM

For every Star Gift Box sold during the festive season, $10 will be donated to Dress for Success, up to a $120K donation on behalf of L’OCCITANE North America. HOW AMAZING is THAT? So, if you’re at the new store this weekend, buy a gift box!! You’ll be helping and empowering another woman that needs to be told they CAN…which is what we should all do! Make me proud my fellow Beauty Junkies and let’s do some GOOD!!

Happy Weekend all! I hope you have a lovely weekend! And I leave you with my new fave song from The Peanuts Movie, which we dance to at Zumba…it’s so cute it makes me smile/happy cry every time I hear it…my new theme song! Sing OH AYE OH!!!  😀

After last week’s emotional post about my friend, I decided I needed a break. An Adventure! To take my mind off all the horrible stuff going on around me. I love going to the mountains here in Alberta. Heck, if I could afford it, I’d move there in a heart beat. I wish I could. I really do. So, that’s where we went.

And so, I’m gonna spam you again with all the beautiful scenery I experienced last week in Banff. #lovealberta

Banff Alberta Overpasses

This is something I’ve never showed you before. Canada Parks built these overpasses for the animals to help them cross the highways. It’s a seamless forest-y walkway for them, and I think they work actually! You hardly ever see any roadkill in Banff National Park anymore.

We didn’t spend a lot of time in Banff this trip because we really wanted to see Lake Louise this time.

Lake Louise, Alberta.jpg

Lake Louise, Alberta

And yup. It’s probably one of the prettiest spots on Earth. She doesn’t disappoint. Get ready for the money shot.

Lake Louise, Alberta

Lake Louise, Alberta1.jpg

Lake Louise, Alberta

Lake Louise is an alpine lake, and is known for its sparkling blue-green waters. It’s situated at the base of glaciers as you can see.

Lake Level view!

I’m sorry, I just couldn’t stop snapping pictures! I could just sit there for hours staring and thinking.

Lake Louise, Alberta.jpg

Lake Louise, Alberta

Here’s a view to the left. I did turn my head and look around hahaha!

Lake Louise, Alberta.jpg

Lake Louise, Alberta

This is a time I wish every picture came with a smell-o-vision button. The air up there is so CLEAN. So fresh. And you can pick out every single scent that’s there-pine? Wild flowers? Greenery? It’s surreal, and so hard to explain?! I wish I could do it justice, but I don’t think any words can really tell you what it smells like there. You just have to come and smell and see for yourselves!

Moraine Lake, Alberta:

Moraine Lake is a lot bluer than Lake Louise, and there’s a science-y time reason for that!

I regret not buying this amazing toilet paper holder in Banff. I swear you can buy the weirdest/most amazing things there.

I couldn’t get Terry on board with it for some reason HAHA. He couldn’t see my decorating vision! Can you?

Found a stocking stuffer for Marky. It’s her favourite word I swear.

Kiehl's Creme de Corps Nurturing Body Washing Cream.jpg

Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Nurturing Body Washing Cream

And a little beauty bonus for you! It’s so DRY in Calgary and Banff. I thought it was dry up here in Edmonton, but every time I go down south and to the mountains my legs get SO ITCHY that I can’t stop scratching like a buffoon. This Kiehl’s Creme de Corps Nurturing Body Washing Cream saved me from scratching my legs off. It’s really thick and lathers nicely into the softest foamy foam ever. It smells very shea buttery too-nice and gentle. But it doesn’t leave your skin greasy feeling at all for something so moisturizing. It cleanses really well too! I love it, and from now on it’s coming with me on any trips for sure. Perfect for this near menopause gal who can’t stand body butters!

You just can’t beat Alberta skies I’m telling you. Nope. No way. No how.

And that was my little adventure last week! I hope to have many more adventures to show you. You see, my hubby was laid off at the end of July, and forced to take early retirement. It was a bit of a shock to us, but he only wanted to work until Marky was finished college anyways. He has been still working though for Sportsnet Productions, but as a freelancer. At first we thought maybe he should get a full-time staff position and then we started to REALLY think about it. WHY. Freelance work is the way to go for him right now, so he can enjoy life for a change. It was a scary decision for us-since he’s the only bread winner in the family. But, life is short. And we want to enjoy what time we’ve got left here! Having sick friends really makes you think about what you want to do with what little time you’ve got left here. And we want to have some fun adventures together!

I promise to get back to blogging about beauty this week! I have quite a bit of things I’ve been loving to show you-specifically skincare. And also some decluttering posts too! YUP. Lots of stuff coming at you, so be prepared!

HUGS everyone! Have you been on any fun adventures lately?
