If you love a bright lip, then these MUFE Acrylips are for you!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip.jpg

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip

I’m all about bright lipstick these days, so I’m loving the new MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip($29).

These new lippies from Make Up For Ever are inspired by the intense pigment that acrylic paints have. And if you’ve ever painted with acrylics, then you’ll totally get what they mean. These are probably some of the brightest and most intensely pigmented lipsticks I’ve ever tried. Make Up For Ever isn’t fooling around with these babies.

The Make Up For Ever Artist Acrylip has a cushion applicator that releases product as you squeeze the tube. BE CAREFUL. Don’t go hulk squeezing the tubes! See how much I squeezed out there? That’s all you need to cover your lips. That’s it. I think they’re pretty easy to apply too. Easy enough to get my cupid’s bow defined.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip .jpg

These are supposed to have the ease of applying a gloss, yet give you the look of a lipstick. Sure. Sort of. Except you don’t have to be as careful with a gloss. Well, I guess it all depends on how pigmented the gloss is haha. Like I said these are super pigmented and the more you apply, the brighter and bolder your lips will look.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip 1.jpg

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip 201, 202, 500

The formula is lovely! Non-sticky and non-drying, Acrylips feel pretty weightless on my lips. These are comfy and feel good! But remember-they don’t completely dry down and do move around. So if you smoosh your lips together, the colour will move. Which is why I say less is more with these. A little bit of MUFE Acrylip just melts right into your lips and looks amazing.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #202 is a bright Coral Pink.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #202.jpg

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #500 is a bright vivid lilac.
MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip 500.jpg

And my fave is MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #201, a Fuchsia Pink.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #201.jpg

They last on the lips as long as a normal lipstick does, which for me is around 4 hours. They aren’t transfer-proof though, so it all depends on what you do with your lips while wearing these HAHA. They do fade to a stain, which I love. I like them!

Worth getting one in a bright fun colour I say! One of these will definitely brighten up your winter!

Wow, we’re in the middle of January already! Sorry I’ve been MIA, but after the New Year we went to California with Marky, and then of course I caught a nasty head cold and have been sick the past week. But I’m back! And got lots more to share I promise!

Happy New Year everyone! It’s that time of year again! There’s a lot to go through, so get comfy folks!

My Skincare Faves of 2016

Beauty Reflections’ Skincare Faves of 2016

Cleansers

Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016.jpg

I love Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil($58) to remove sunscreen and makeup. It takes off everything, including mascara and doesn’t irritate my eyes. Of all the cleansing oils I’ve tried, this one emulsifies the best and rinses off the best as well, leaving no oily residue at all. My skin feels soft and clean after using it, and sometimes I don’t even feel the need to double cleanse to remove any leftovers. It’s never, ever broken me out either. Will definitely repurchase this for sure!

BriAA’s Genesis Cleansing Gel is new for me. BriAA is an Israeli Company that is launching in the USA. They are a leading skincare manufacturer with international reputation of more than 38 years in the skincare industry, specializing in natural cosmetics and skin rejuvenation technologies. They sent me a couple of products to try, and WOW-I LOVE this gel cleanser a lot! It smells like green tea and is so light and refreshing. Without a doubt, it’s probably the best foaming, gentle, gel cleanser I’ve ever tried. It cleanses gently, and leaves my skin feeling so GOOD and soft. LOVE IT. Look out for this company, their products are pretty awesome from what I’ve tried.

Hylamide Hydra-Density Mist($18)

Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016.jpg

Love this mist after cleansing! It has some marine extracts with a higher water-retaining capacity than hyaluronic acid to hydrate skin. There’s also Green Tea Polyphenols, Golden Eye Grass Root, and Tasmanian Pepperberry to soothe skin and reduce redness. It’s a meaty spray which I love and works well. Good stuff!

AmorePacific Treatment Enzyme Peel
Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016.jpg

I didn’t use this for a few months as I was testing out so much skincare this year, and I missed it SO SO MUCH. I’m so glad to be using it again and so is my skin haha. Within a week, my skin looked brighter, better, calmer, less flaky, and less breakouts. See my original review here on how it changed my skin. It now has the dubious distinction of being the one skincare product that I’ve been using for over 2 years now and that’s something when you’re a blogger!

Hylamide and Deciem The Ordinary
Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016.jpg

The Hylamide Booster C25($38) is back again this year as a fave. It’s just solidly good stuff and my skin loves this 25% concentrated and completely stable 25% Ethylated Vitamin C booster. I should really do a more in-depth review of The Ordinary serums and that skincare line, which you can find here. I don’t know how they do it, but their prices are outrageously affordable and from what I’ve tried-REALLY GOOD TOO. The Ordinary Buffet($14.80) is a Multi-Technology Peptide Serum, with Matrixyl 3000 being the main proven anti-aging peptide. The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 ($6.80) is an awesome hydrating serum and did you see that frickin’ price? HOW. The Ordinary Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% costs $6.50 and it’s SO GOOD you guys. Lactic Acid is for me at least, the one exfoliating HA that doesn’t break me out. This one smells good too, not overpowering at all, but has a nice gentle scent. It works so well, leaving skin smooth as silk. I use it every other night and love it. They have a 10% concentration as well, and that’s the next one I’m picking up for sure.

It’s hard to see in that pic, but Consonant HydrEXTREME ($72 for 10ml) is on my faves list again. It’s seriously the BEST hydrating serum I’ve ever used. Click on that link to read all about it.

Yuri Pibu Artichoke Power Essence($38)
Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016.jpg

Here’s comes some of the Korean Skincare I’ve been using and loving this year. Yuri Pibu Artichoke Power Essence contains 60% artichoke extract to hydrate, nourish and smooth skin and it also helps to tighten the appearance of pores. It’s waterless, which I find amazing and has no silicones, no parabens or other not good for your skin ingredients. It’s an essence, so that means it’s a lotion-y serum. It absorbs quickly, and I swear my pores are looking smoother too. You can find it at Glow Recipe, although it’s sold out at the moment.

J.One Jelly Pack($42) and J.One Hana Cream($30)
Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016.jpg

This Korean Skincare line is created by a popular actress and these two products are AWESOME. J.One Jelly Pack firms, hydrates and is a primer for makeup too. It’s a weird texture, a kind of sticky gel that seems a bit hard to rub on, but don’t worry, it does finally sink in and when it does WOWZA. I swear my face loses like 10 pounds when I use this stuff haha! It firms and lifts up everything, smooths over pores, and is a great primer too.
The J.One Hana Cream is a capsule cream which is SO COOL.

 photo SAM_5405.jpg

Each little sphere is perfectly portioned so you get the right amount every time you use it. I love this idea! It’s full of ingredients that brighten, firm, blur, and plumps up the skin. You can find both of these products at Sephora in the USA right now, and I’m hoping they make their way across the border soon. Otherwise, you can order them from Glow Recipe which ships to Canada in 2-3 days. So worth it!

Moisturizers

photo SAM_5408Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb($38) is Korean as well, and you can find the line at The Face Shop across Canada, and at Sephora in the USA. It’s such a good moisturizer if you have really dry skin. It’s a kind of bouncy cream that gives instant moisture. You know when people say it feels like your skin just drank a big glass of water? That’s exactly what this feels like.

Live Clean Fresh Face Soothing Daily Moisturizer is probably the best drugstore moisturizer I’ve tried, and it made my list this year again. So affordable at around $14 for a massive tube-it’s 5 oz. Who in the heck makes a face moisturizer that size these days? Live Clean, that’s who! No bad for your skin ingredients at all, it’s a solid moisturizer that I love to use and never interferes with makeup at all.

 photo SAM_5410.jpg

Dr. Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30($52) is another Korean skincare brand, and again I’m so sorry, but this one isn’t in Canada either. The other Tiger Grass cream is, but because this one has SPF it’s not here. Maybe soon. But I love using this one on no makeup days.

 photo SAM_5411.jpg

The green-beige colour does a pretty decent job at correcting my redness amazingly enough! Shocked me actually. I got a sample at Disneyland the last time we were there, and loved it so much I got the full size to take home. The Tiger Grass helps soothe redness and reduce it. It’s thick, and really protects the skin’s barrier. Plus, it’s got SPF 30 too, so for me this is a godsend product. If you suffer from redness like I do, it’s worth trying for sure.

Night Creams/Moisturizers

photo SAM_5415.jpgMost nights, I opt for a sleeping mask with Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask($92) being my fave. I love the stuff. I wake up with moisturized, brighter, firmer looking skin every time I use it.

Another Live Clean Fresh Face product! The Nourishing Night Cream($20) is awesome. Natural, organic ingredients that work so well and is so affordable. I love using this one if I’m using an acid or retinol overnight as it doesn’t have any ingredients that would interfere. Love it and Live Clean a lot!

Masks

Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016.jpg

I love masks. And I love the Blithe Patting Splash Mask in Rejuvenating Purple Berry($45). Marky loves the Soothing Green Tea one. You can read my review HERE, but for both of us these Splash Masks are probably one of the best skincare finds of the year.

Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016.jpgI have a lot of masks, but to be honest these three from Eau Thermal Avène are the ones I reach for and use the most. Pretty much after every shower I’ll use one. The Soothing Moisture Mask I’ll even use as a moisturizer if I’m feeling especially parched. The Tolérance Extreme Mask  is great when my skin is acting up and feeling itchy and blotchy and misbehaving. And the Antirougeurs Calm is perfect for anytime I want to look less red.

Eye Cream

photo SAM_5428.jpgThe Bella Aura Instant Lifting Eye Contour is my favourite daytime eye cream hands down. It’s more of a lotion than a cream, but it sinks in immediately, cools, refreshes, brightens, and I swear my eyes look lifted as well. I adore it so much, and will need to repurchase another this month for sure.

The Peter Thomas Roth Retinal PM Cream($68) I’ve been using since the Sephora VIB Sale in November, so I can honestly tell you this is probably the best eye cream I’ve used to reduce the look of fine lines and crow’s feet. I’m really noticing the difference about now, and that’s the thing with products like this, it takes time before you really see results. I figure I’ll need to replace it this month, and I plan on doing that for sure.

Sunscreen

SAMSUNG CSC

Cyberderm Simply Zinc Sun Whip and Every Morning Sun Whip($38 each) are the best mineral sunscreens I’ve ever used. They protect all day long, don’t interfere with makeup, and never break me out. I prefer mineral sunscreen on my face, and these two are pretty much perfection in my eyes. And yay! They are Canadian as well! And, they ship to the USA and International as well.

Favourite Skincare Line Of 2016

Beauty Reflections' Skincare Faves of 2016.jpg

Bella Aura’s Essential Energy Boosting Kit

Bella Aura Skincare was the best skincare line I’ve tried this past year. It’s a luxurious, natural, and highly effective skincare line that is is emulsion-based. Emulsions are created when a water based moisturizer is combined with botanical oils. They are lightweight and quickly absorb into the deepest layers of your skin, leaving no greasy residue at all. An emulsion has the ability to maintain hydration levels and prevent moisture loss from your skin’s surface. All skin types benefit from emulsions, as they are hydrating and don’t clog pores at all. This is Bella Aura’s Essential Energy Boosting Kit($75) and contains 10ml sizes of all 5 Bella Aura Skincare products. It’s a great way to try the line and I think you’d love it as much as I do!

Phew again! These faves posts take so long to do, but I like doing them because it really makes me look at what products I actually use. A lot of them I’ve bought on my own, a few have been sent by PR. But all of them I will continue to keep using and purchasing when I run out, that’s for sure.

Have you tried any of these products? What skincare gems did you discover last year?

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Traditions Set And Fresh LE Zodiac Oval Soap

One of my fave skincare brands at Sephora is Fresh, and if you’re like me and always wanted to try their Black Tea Age-Delay line, then this set lets you do just that.

 Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Traditions

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Traditions Set

Black tea ferment (kombucha) is a key ingredient in the line that helps soften, smooth, firm and brighten the appearance of skin. Sign me up I say!

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Traditions .jpg

You get a full size of the classic Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, which is lovely and gentle. I love taking it when I travel as it’s just perfect whatever kind of weather I’ll be dealing with, so I’m happy to have it. It’s just a really nice cleanser that never strips moisture from my face.

Next is a full size of Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate. Lovely eye cream! It’s cooling, which I love for the morning as it helps wake up that tired under-eye area. As I age, I really notice that the under eye area is key to looking younger you guys. The more fresh and bright that part of me looks, the younger I look. This eye cream absorbs quickly, moisturizes and doesn’t interfere with concealer at all. Good stuff!

A small, trial size of Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Firming Serum is included. It’s supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, moisturize, and tighten up those sagging parts. Since it is a small size, hard to really tell if it did anything with lines. It does give a tightening effect. It’s an ok serum, but eh-I have other serums I like better and this one is pretty expensive so I won’t buy the full size.

You get a 30 ml size of Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask, which is the main reason I wanted to get this set. I really wanted to try this overnight mask, and I wasn’t disappointed.

Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Traditions .jpg

It contains black tea ferment, black tea extract, blackberry leaf extract, and lychee seed extract to improve the appearance of skin elasticity. There’s belle de nuit extract to soothe, plus peptides and hyaluronic acid as well. It’s got LOADS of good for your skin ingredients that really help it to repair overnight. And NO SILICONES, which as you know I can’t stand in my night time skincare.

The Fresh Black Tea Firming Overnight Mask is probably one of the BEST overnight masks I’ve ever tried, and I’ll for sure be picking up the full size soon. It deeply hydrates, smooths and firms my skin overnight, and I can’t be without it now!

The Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Traditions set costs $130 and is still available at Sephora. So, if you’d like to give the line a try (which is the #1 selling skincare line at Sephora) then check this one out!

Oh, and this is the coolest soap I’ve ever seen/used!
 photo SAM_5256.jpg

Fresh has brought back their LE Zodiac Oval Soap Collection! This one is the Capricorn one, which has the Fresh Sugar scent and is wrapped up with a little quartz stone, and gorgeous wrapping paper that matches whether the sign is Fire, Earth, Water, Air. The scent also corresponds to the sign. The Zodiac Oval Soaps are a vegetable-based soap enriched with moisturizing shea butter, and they are SO good. Take a look at them HERE.  They would make great stocking stuffers or teacher gifts! I’m for sure going to get the Leo one for Marky’s stocking.

Are you done Christmas Shopping yet? Are you ready for Christmas? I am not haha! I still have some cleaning to do the next couple of days, mainly Marky’s room, as she is back from college at the end of the week! YAY!

You all must know by now that Make Up For Ever reformulated their Artist Rouge Lipsticks. I’m a little late to the lipstick party here, but PFFT-does that really matter? Maybe, but I’m gonna revive that lipstick party train for ya’ll just before you need a Christmas Party lipstick!

DANG…these are some NICE lipsticks you guys. You need a lipstick that’s as perfect as Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204 is for me! And I know you can find one because there are like fifty-something shades that range from the avant-garde to the just plain beautiful.

To refresh our makeup-obsessed minds, Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipsticks now pack 25% more pigment than before and yeah, these are one swipers. SO PIGMENTED. But yet, they feel so light on the lips as to opposed say a NARS Audacious lipstick. Those are a heavier formula for sure. Make Up For Ever feels better on the lips, easier to wear, hydrating-even the mattes like my shade here. The mattes go on with a velvety finish at first and dry down more matte after some wear time. I like that. Kind of eases you into that whole matte feeling.

Isn’t she a BEAUTY?!!! I loves me a fresh tube of lipstick. It’s one of my favourite things, and it doesn’t have to be wrapped up in brown paper packaging and strings either….   😛

Swatchy Time!

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204.jpg

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204 is a perfect, bright shade of pinky-red that just perks up my face! Raspberry Pink Make Up Forever calls it! It gives me life! And makes me look a WHOLE lot younger. Pinky reds like this one take 10 years off my face I swear.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204.jpg

wearing Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204

I love these new Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipsticks! I have a few other shades as well-let me know if you’d like to see some of them and I’ll oblige of course. The satin finishes are just as lovely as the mattes. But, if you are looking for a party-perfect matte lipstick? I say look at these, particularly the shade M501 which is a Plum Violet. I’m getting that one next, and I think it’d be PERFECT for Christmas and winter!

What shade of lipstick makes you look younger? You need to find that ONE shade, and when you do-you will know!

                                              ME lately

 photo IMG_8655.jpg

I don’t know man, but you know I’m kind of at a loss these days. I research products before I buy. I read some blogs, and also look at website reviews of products before I buy anything. Sometimes, I’ll buy a product because it’s a brand I like and have products that work for me already.

But this summer, I bought a few things that were highly rated and had good reviews, and in the end, they just didn’t work for me at all.

1.Kate Somerville ExfoliKate Cleanser

 reviews

This has an almost 5 star rating on Sephora, so you’d think I love it. Nope. It breaks me out like crazy and dries my skin out. It’s just way too harsh for my skin type. I passed it on to my hubby who has oily skin, so at least it wasn’t a total loss. He likes it fine, but it’s not life-changing as many of the reviewers say it is. Lesson learned: Cream Cleansers are what work for my skin like the Avène one, and also oil cleaners like the Tatcha Cleansing Oil I use to remove sunscreen. No more foamy cleansers for me.

The next two products are from Algenist. I love the brand and trust it, as I have used a few products that worked so well for me. But these two next products were huge fails for me.

2. Algenist Reveal Concentrated Color Correcting Drops

reviews

I bought this when the whole colour-correcting phase was hyped up a few months ago. It’s not a bad product, but it’s so full of silicones. I hate silicones as you know. What happens is that sure, this helps with my redness but it accentuates any dry spots on my face. That and I can’t stand the silicone feeling on my face. It makes me feel like my skin can’t breathe. So, this went back to the store. And in case you’re wondering if I bought another colour-correcting product the answer is NOPE. After this encounter I kind of realized how DUMB the whole crazed up hype was and why would I want to add another step to putting on makeup? Like no thanks man. I’ll just use my foundation only, thanks.

3. Algenist Power Advanced Wrinkle Fighter Serum

reviews

Yup, another Algenist product. To be honest it’s not the product I have a problem with it’s THE STUPID PACKAGING. WHY do companies insist on using a freakin’ dropper as a way to dispense a product that isn’t liquid enough? This serum is thicker-like a lotion, so the dropper doesn’t work AT ALL. I had to dig a q-tip in to get some out and WHY. After a week of that nonsense, back it went as well. So I’ll never know if it is a good wrinkle fighter or not. And come to think of it, this is the 3rd product from Algenist I’ve had issues with. Three strikes means:  yer’OUT Algenist. You are off my list of trusted brands now.

HYPE. BAD PACKAGING. Fake reviews making me believe products are good? Maybe? Here’s why I’m thinking that last one is plausible: I was contacted by a company-can’t remember who, but it was for a skincare item to review. Well, in exchange for the product, they didn’t want a blog post. They wanted me to go to Amazon and write a positive REVIEW. And once I posted that review, they’d also pay me $20. UMMMMM…..NOPE. I don’t do that shady shit. But I’m thinking a LOT of people do.

I think I’m just going to have to be even smarter before I purchase products. What I’m trying to say is this: remember your skin type before buying something someone else likes. KNOW what ingredients don’t work for you, and those that do. I can’t stress these two points enough. If you remember them, you’ll honestly save yourself a lot of grief AND not fall for hype…as much…haha. Oh, and shop at a place that has a good return policy! This is one reason why I don’t shop for skincare(unless it’s something I already use like Avene or Vichy or La Roche Posay) at Shoppers Drug Mart. I’d much rather shop there don’t get me wrong, as I’d love to get Optimum Points instead of silly Sephora Perks. But, at least Sephora will take back my failed purchases. Nordstrom Canada does as well, so that’s a good place to shop if you have the option. I’d wish The Bay would adopt Nordstrom’s return policy because wow, have you checked all the brands they’ve been adding online, like Erborian? So cool! I do not know about Holt Renfrew’s return policy as it’s just not an easy place for me to shop at, so if you know, let us know!

As for hype? Yeah, well that’s a hard one. What helps me avoid hype is again knowing what I like and don’t like. For example, I just don’t do eyeshadows anymore. I don’t bother anymore with them, and now that I’ve accepted that fact, I’m pretty immune to any new makeup releases that involve shadows. Any palettes with them, I don’t care about AT all. Lipsticks on the other hand? GIMME. Also, I don’t follow the big blogs that showcase all the new products. Most of the time I have no idea about new products, until I get an email from a website, or if a trusted friend reviews it. Being oblivious really helps with avoiding hype  😛

Do you rely too much on good reviews as well when purchasing a product? I hope I haven’t steered anyone wrong … and if I did I hope you returned the failed product I liked!

Two consecutive blog posts! I’m on a roll! 😀 😀

Mattes are where it’s at lately with lipsticks. But, in the summer there’s nothing better than a pretty, glossy lip, amiright’? YES.

Glosses are not my cuppa’ tea. Most are sticky, and I don’t really like sticky things on my lips. But a lipstick that feels like a balm, yet leaves an oh-so-pretty shine that’s not sticky and doesn’t catch and stick to my hair on a windy day?

Nudestix comes in for the WIN you guys.

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms $28.00 each

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms are a super-moisturizing lip balm from the much loved -every-makeup-product-in-a-stick brand, which I personally LOVE. I really love the brand. I love the whole concept of minimal makeup in a stick. When they finally come out with a foundation, I’m going full throttle NUDESTIX you guys. What else do you need, right?

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms in Haven, Luxe, Rebel

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms are formulated with over 30% ultra-hydrating, lip-protecting plant lipids that are sourced from rapeseed, sunflower, cotton seed, and soybean, and vitamin E as an antioxidant. They are kinda’ awesome! They are so smooth, lovely, pigmented and last a not bad time for a shiny lippie. Kinda’ in love with them. Yup.

Haven is natural lip nude that’s perfection!

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms: Haven

I used to be able to wear loads of nude lipstick shades in the past, but it’s oh so much trickier with grey hair now. Haven is perfect! Just enough peach to make it wearable for me! And for most people too I’m guessing.

Luxe is described as a just kissed fresh pink-nude, but to me it’s just an easy to wear light coral. Perfect for any day of the week!

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms: Luxe

Rebel is the perfect pink. PERFECT. It’s in my purse. Permanently. And I will replace it when I am done. #promise

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms

NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms: Rebel

Now to be honest, I haven’t tried these on my cheeks. I’m way too enamoured with how they wear and look on my lips and don’t want to share them with my cheeks, especially Rebel. Dudes, you see my cheeks-they are HUGE. I don’t want to waste any of these NUDESTIX Gel Color Lip + Cheek Balms’ goodness on those ample babies! LIPS ONLY. But, the texture does remind me of the Stila Convertible Colors just thinner and not so heavy feeling, so I bet they’d be awesome on the cheeks, because boy, do I love those too!

If you’re looking for the perfect summer lipstick, Rebel is what you need. If you STILL have ignored me and haven’t tried anything from NUDESTIX, please oh please get Rebel! And then come back here and let me tell you I TOLD YOU SO.  😛

Have you tried anything from NUDESTIX yet? Yeah, Yeah I know, I wish they’d ditch the container and sharpener they sell with every product too so that the price would drop. Maybe someday they will. In the meantime, I’m happy to support a Canadian brand that makes awesome products!

I almost, ALMOST bought another Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip($32) today at the mall because DUDES. These are so GOOD. The only thing that stopped me was the hubby wanting a Tom Ford fragrance because of the discount. Otherwise the shade #10 Rosewood would have come home with me today…and it still might find it’s way into my online shopping cart tonight because I love this formula. A LOT.

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Red

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip.jpg

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip

It’s not like this is a new idea, let’s get real. Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip is a dual-ended lipstick that aims to create the illusion of a fuller looking lip using an iridescent powder-to-cream highlighter. You just tap that highlighter on your bottom lip and Bazinga! Fuller, younger looking lips are yours. And it’s not like you can’t do this already with any shimmery eyeshadow you got in your collection, because you totally could. It’s not the highlighter that I love so much, but the formula of the lipstick is the star here, and that’s what has me wanting MORE of them!

Swatchy Time!

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Redjpg

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Red

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Red is GORGEOUS. It’s a classic red that anyone can pull off. The formula, like I said, is SUPERB. It’s opaque in one swipe, and the shape of the pencil makes it the easiest application ever. It just fits yours lips pretty perfectly!

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Red.jpg

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Red

It’s semi-matte I say, and dries down to a matte that is SO COMFY to wear, and that’s because it’s infused with oil. For me, this is one of the best lipstick formulas I’ve tried in ages! It doesn’t feather at all, and lasts comfortably until my chubby tummy decides it’s time to eat, which is pretty much at the 4-5 hour mark. I’m kind of hoping that MUFE decides to make a lipstick line without the highlighter some day in loads of shades, because they really should! The highlighter adds a pretty highlight as you can see, but to be honest, I can do without it. MAKE. MORE. LIPSTICK. SHADES….Please?!

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Red.jpg

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Red

Yeah, it’s a bit pricey for a lipstick I agree. But Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip is worth it I swear. Cross my heart, and hope to NEVER say “Contouring my Lips” because… NO. Not going to go there MUFE. Sorry HAHAHA!

Lots of nice new things from MUFE this spring! I see they have some new pink lipstick/gloss/balm things too that I kind of want to try out! So many lipsticks, so little time! Did you get a new lipstick during the Sephora Spring Sale?
