Happy Monday!

There are some new mark. All Butter Now Lip Treat($14) shades and I think you’re gonna want them!

mark. .jpg

Last year I adored the shade Coraltini, so when I saw that there were some new shades I did a Snoopy Happy Dance around the house!

My Snoopy T-shirt collection is lacking a Happy Dance one. I’m always on the lookout for one, so if you ever see one give me a holler!

Just look at these creamy lipstick beauties:

mark. All Butter Now Lip Treat Terra Hotta, Razzmatazz, All Fired up, Mauvelous

These lipstick/lipbalms are supposed to increase lip moisture by 124%. And I think they pretty much do because they’re infused with shea, cocoa & mango seed butters. The pigmentation as you can see, is pretty insane for a lip balm. I can build them up to a good medium finish in 3 swipes.

I love, love LOVE these things. And I love all of these new shades too. They are creamy, feel good, don’t bleed, and last a decent time with a really pretty fade down. They are my favourite lip product from Avon/mark, and every time I wear one I ask myself why I bother buying expensive lipsticks because these are so good. I say wait for a sale and pick up a couple. Avon always has sales.

And on another note, my HAIR. I’m getting kind of tired of it! I don’t know whether to keep growing it longer, or get it cut. Shorter hair always means more work, and I’m not sure if I want to have to start styling again….right now I just wash and air dry. But most days I’ll put it in a ponytail, because I’m hair challenged. Maybe I should try to learn to do some cool braids and stuff? Know of any good YT videos I can check out?

Back to sort-of-normal today hahahaha? Whatever NORMAL is. But I do want to thank everyone for sharing their PR horror stories on my post because WOW. I thought my problem was bad, but in comparison it was pretty tame to what some of you all have experienced. We need to stand together as bloggers, and not get pushed around by jerky PR anymore. If we allow it to happen, it will continue. So STAND STRONG MY FRIENDS. And remember: WE MATTER AND ARE WORTH IT. WE REALLY ARE. And our job is to tell the truth ! To each other! To our readers! That’s what we started doing. And I hope I’ve inspired some of you to continue doing that. What we do as bloggers is important and NO PR can take that away from us.

Ok, back to work Tracy goes!

I want to love Body Oils, I really do! But when you are a hot and flashy-near-menopause-beauty-junkie, they’re the LAST thing I want touching my body after I shower. I really don’t need an oily oil when I’m constantly overheated to make me feel like this:

Wish I was a photoshop genius so I could put my face in there but alas, my skills are lacking

It’s not EVERY blog post you get the chance to use the Kramer Turkey pic, so today is an Internet WIN for me hahahaha!

Ok, its’ time to stop celebrating Kramer Turkey time and talk PRODUCT. The other day these beauties wound up on my doorstep! Fortuitous indeed!

Mark Limited Edition Body Oils($14)

Mark Limited Edition Body Oils.jpg

Mark Limited Edition Body Oils

And at first I thought NOPE. Like I said, most oils I can’t take, and I swear I get a hot flash from just LOOKING at a body oil these day #hotflashtirgger-except for the Caudalie Divine Oil, which I will talk about soon I promise(but these are cheaper and REALLY GOOD). After ignoring these Mark Limited Edition Body Oils, I picked one up and noticed that they were not QUITE that oily and viscous, if you get chemistry terms. Viscous, means having a thick, sticky consistency between solid and liquid; having a high viscosity, which refers to the property of a fluid that resists the force tending to cause the fluid to flow. Think MOLASSES BABY. It has a HIGH viscosity. These Mark Limited Edition Body Oils DON’T. In fact, they pour like water.

And that would be because of the ingredients, of which the first one is isopropyl alcohol. WHAT you say? Alcohol? NO TRACY. NO WAY will I put that on my body! It’s bad for my skin!

Mark Limited Edition Body Oils.jpg

Mark Limited Edition Body Oils

PFFFT says this former chemistry lady. Many things are soluble in Isopropyl Alcohol, and it evaporates CLEAN. Nothing is left behind once it evaporates, so RELAX. As someone who uses IA when I inject my Multiple Sclerosis Meds, it does nothing to your skin. It does give you that AHHHHHHH cooling feeling as it evaporates from the skin, which as a hot and flashy lady I really LURVE.

Mark Limited Edition Body Oils are supposed to be fast absorbing and they sort of are. When the IA evaporates, the Olive Oil is the main ingredient that’s left on the skin to moisturize. But it’s not heavy or thick at all like the cooking oil. It’s thinner, but it does take a few minutes to fully absorb for sure. It’s an oil for gosh sakes-it needs a few minutes, so give it a break people! But the result is smooth, soft, luminous skin which is NICE.

The Mark Limited Edition Body Oils scents though are AWESOME. They last quite awhile on the skin and I love them! I can’t even decide what’s my fave to be honest. The Lemon Sugar smells just like the really expensive FRESH stuff and is a really good scent for summer. Marky adores the Jasmine one! If you are a jasmine-whore, you are going to want it. Plumberry is going to get loads of love from me once the weather cools, because as you know I love berry scents in the fall! And the coconut one is pretty perfect. Not too sweet, just perfect.

HECK GET THEM ALL. They are LE, so store them away and use them when you need a moisture and fragrance boost in the winter. You’ll thank me, especially if you start hot flashing. I used to RUE the day that I stopped having a period, but now? UGGH. I wish I was still getting a regular visit from Aunty Flo every month I swear. 🙁

Find them soon on www.avon.ca or call that local Avon lady of yours and show her some love!

Body oils! Love ’em? Or leave ’em?

UGGH property taxes are due today and I HATE paying them so I wait until the last second. Seriously, if I could see thing getting better around me? I wouldn’t mind paying them! But every year they increase, and I see NO BENEFITS. How do cities manage money seriously? It’s not COOL.

I don’t know what’s with me lately. But anything BERRY in my shower? I adore. And Mark Moon Chill Berry Body Scrub($14) is my new favourite scrubby! And feast your eyes upon the most perfect picture of something called Moon Chill. If only there was a crescent moon in the corner hey? Would have been POETRY.

Mark Moon Chill Berry Body Scrub.jpg

Mark Moon Chill Berry Body Scrub

Avon calls it “a magical mix of chilled berries, frosted blossoms, and moonlight musk” haha. Ok,sure. Didn’t know the moonlight was musky! But I guess it is! This is one of their foaming formula scrubs that I LOVE. It has sugar cane extract that cleanses as it exfoliates, leaving skin softer and smoother. I can’t tell you how much I love Mark’s foaming scrubs. They are my faves, and I don’t think a lot of brands actually make a foaming scrubby? You either cleanse or exfoliate, not both at the same time for some reason? Who am I kidding-it’s all about MONEY and making you buy more products is WHY. Sigh. Like I said before, I take fast showers, so if something can do two jobs at once and do it well? LOVE. And Mark Moon Chill Berry Body Scrub does that! It’s a softer berry scent-guess that’s the moon CHILL part of it. But I am really liking berries and berry scents in my shower this year. So if you like berries and scrubs-this is something you should look into! Order online at www.avon.ca!

I really like this scrubby kind of cleanser. It really helps with smoothing my skin! And I know, it’s winter Tracy-you’re wearing sleeves ALL the time, no? Well yes, but in a month I’ll be in California again! SHORT SLEEVES PEOPLE. See, I’m going to get my Marky once the first semester of college is over! And  I can HARDLY WAIT. 😀 I need my arms to be short sleeve presentable at all times dudes! And Mark Moon Chill Berry Body Scrub is doing just that.

When the Mark Eye Dream Of Glam Ultimate Eye Shadow Palette arrived here, I wasn’t expecting much. To be honest I was kind of all-paletted-out. The ones I had tried were just so-so.

And then I opened it up.

And my jaw dropped to the ground.

Mark Eye Dream Of Glam Ultimate Eye Shadow Palette

This is probably one of the prettiest eyeshadow palettes I’ve EVER seen. And I’ve seen a lot! THIS is how you do a palette folks! It has 16 marbleized eyeshadows that you you can use dry, or wet for extra intensity.

Mark Eye Dream Of Glam Ultimate Eye Shadow Palette Swatchy Time!

These are just dry swatches because 1. Eh, nobody likes using eyeshadows wet except for me and 2. I’m lazy 😛 So dry swatches only!

OMG so nice. Some are smooth metallic finishes, and some are more glittery. But most of them feel so nice for baked eyeshadows! And you can kind of adjust the shades a little depending on where you pick up the colour. The marbling in each one adds a softness to the eyeshadows. If you try to avoid the marbling, you’d get a bit darker colour. Hope that makes sense!

I think I probably used every shade in the palette for these looks hahaha. I couldn’t help myself.

Combining colours when using this palette is SO much fun. They blend really nicely and keep their colour if ya know what I mean. Sometimes baked eyeshadows can sort of get muddy when you start bending, but not these. They blend, but keep their colour. Using them dry has a nice soft effect too, which is perfect if you are colour shy when it comes to your eye looks.

Of course, if you use the Mark Eye Dream Of Glam Ultimate Eye Shadow Palette shadows wet, you’d get some beautiful intense looks! And less fallout too. I mean, they’re baked eyeshadows with glitter, so yeah there’s gonna be a bit of fallout when you apply them. Do your eyeshadow look first so you don’t mess up your foundation. And use a tacky primer too-that’ll make sure the glitter stays put! I didn’t have and trouble with glitter fallout as the day progressed because I used a MAC Paint Pot.

The Mark Eye Dream Of Glam Ultimate Eye Shadow Palette costs $40 and I say it’s well worth it! If you love baked eyeshadows and love playing with colour, then this palette is made for you! Get it now because it’s here just for the holidays! Order online at www.avon.ca.

Seriously, what a great palette from Mark for the holidays! I think it’s my favourite one I’ve seen so far. What’s been your favourite holiday palette?

Since my eyes have been bugging me lately, I tested the shades on each eye. Forgive me, but the thought of prolonging my eye troubles another day I just couldn’t bear. And besides, a one look on each eye demo kind of goes with the palette design anyways, right? 😉

Mark Eye Compact.jpg

The eyeshadows are lovely! Soft with nice pigmentation and can be used wet as well to up the intensity if you wish. I do think the shadows are a tad too soft, as some of the shades seem to kind of blend into each other a bit losing intensity. But it’s not big deal to just pat on a bit more of the lighter shade again. The overall effect is a pretty and easy smoky fall eye look that really, you can’t beat! And combining both sides of the palette would be SO pretty!

The Mark Wonderfleur Color Swing Mix It Up Eye Compact is available right now on www.avon.ca or from your local Avon Rep!

What colours do you tend to reach for as the weather starts to cool? Plums? Browns? Greens? Or all of the above? 😀
