It’s been 30 days since I’ve blogged! And I know some of you have been wondering WTH TRACY WHERE ARE YOU.

Well, it’s like this: LIFE. It happens. I like the happens, even if it means a sprained wrist which makes typing furiously on a computer impossible. #IblameBurpees #heyIamTryingMan

But today, my wrist feels not too bad AND I’ve just eaten a box of 20 Timbits for dinner WITH a glass of wine #AdultingHere so, let’s get back to BIZNESS.

So, I’ve been sitting and sitting on blogging about these Charlotte Tilbury Quick ‘N’ Easy 5 Minute Instant Makeup Kits I was sent at the beginning of January.

 photo SAM_5437.jpg

I showed them on my Instagram Story feed and when I was swatching them I honestly was thinking these are great! What a great idea! Little packets of Charlotte Tilbury Goodness to create easy, no fuss makeup looks! I think it was the whole 5 minute makeup easy look part that had me sold-that and her makeup swatches well too and can easily FOOL you.

Most of these kits come with a sample of her Wonder Glow.

 photo SAM_5450.jpg

Yeah, it’s nothing but a moisturizer with loads of glitter. Pass.

Some kits come with a sample of her Legendary Lashes Mascara.

 photo Last Import - 1 of 101 57.jpg

It was promising! Very lengthening! Not so much volume. But…it smudges to high heaven. And most people agree with me.

Some kits come with her Chameleon Eye Shadow Pencils, which I thought cool, I love me easy eye looks.

That’s the Amber Haze Chameleon Pencil from the Naturally Glowing Kit and it’s the better of the two I got to try in these kits.

I mean, it sets so DARN FAST that blending is nearly impossible! And, if you have oily oily lids like I do, you’ll still need a primer because they will crease. I’ll show you proof later.

Even the Beach Stick in this Kit, I did not like:

 photo SAM_5473.jpg

Looks nice hey?

 photo SAM_5462.jpg
Swatches not half bad.

Ends up patch on the cheeks. I mean, it looks like I have blush on one cheek only. ONE.

 photo IMG_3720.jpg

SIGH. And it’s not good on the lips either because it feels powdery.

The Red Carpet Glam Kit? Swatches awesome, but again it’s really nothing special?

 photo SAM_5494.jpg

I mean, it’s a lip liner, a lipstick, and an eyeliner? For $95. WHY so much?

 photo IMG_3750.jpg

I don’t get it. It’s a red lipstick. YAY??!!!

The Smokey Eye look kit was the one I was MOST excited to try, I mean look at that swatch of the Black Diamonds Chameleon Eye Pencil. IT’S SO GLITTERY and PRETTY!

 photo SAM_5508.jpg

And you guys loved my eye look in other posts that I was wearing that pencil!

 photo IMG_3788.jpg

It looks so good, ya? Things are never quite what they seem!

 photo Last Import - 1 of 101 78.jpg

Not so much, hey? Wow this one creases like crazy you guys, even with primer and the glitter keeps falling all over the place-jumping even. It’s glitter with legs cause I found some even in my brows, my lips, on my shirt. Nope. NOPE. I’m too old for that man, just way too old.

I can’t tell you to buy these kits?!! I mean, CHRIST. I’d have to go to confession and say like 500 hundred Our Fathers and 1000 Hail Marys and even then my conscience wouldn’t feel clean.

If you want to try some Charlotte Tilbury makeup? Get a lipstick. Preferably the matte ones. The lipsticks in these kits are the only thing that I consistently liked-she makes a good lippie that woman, yes she does. The rest of the makeup in these kits? Overpriced. Not. Good. Don’t. Waste. Your. Money. On. Them.

If you love a bright lip, then these MUFE Acrylips are for you!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip.jpg

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip

I’m all about bright lipstick these days, so I’m loving the new MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip($29).

These new lippies from Make Up For Ever are inspired by the intense pigment that acrylic paints have. And if you’ve ever painted with acrylics, then you’ll totally get what they mean. These are probably some of the brightest and most intensely pigmented lipsticks I’ve ever tried. Make Up For Ever isn’t fooling around with these babies.

The Make Up For Ever Artist Acrylip has a cushion applicator that releases product as you squeeze the tube. BE CAREFUL. Don’t go hulk squeezing the tubes! See how much I squeezed out there? That’s all you need to cover your lips. That’s it. I think they’re pretty easy to apply too. Easy enough to get my cupid’s bow defined.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip .jpg

These are supposed to have the ease of applying a gloss, yet give you the look of a lipstick. Sure. Sort of. Except you don’t have to be as careful with a gloss. Well, I guess it all depends on how pigmented the gloss is haha. Like I said these are super pigmented and the more you apply, the brighter and bolder your lips will look.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip 1.jpg

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip 201, 202, 500

The formula is lovely! Non-sticky and non-drying, Acrylips feel pretty weightless on my lips. These are comfy and feel good! But remember-they don’t completely dry down and do move around. So if you smoosh your lips together, the colour will move. Which is why I say less is more with these. A little bit of MUFE Acrylip just melts right into your lips and looks amazing.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #202 is a bright Coral Pink.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #202.jpg

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #500 is a bright vivid lilac.

And my fave is MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #201, a Fuchsia Pink.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Acrylip #201.jpg

They last on the lips as long as a normal lipstick does, which for me is around 4 hours. They aren’t transfer-proof though, so it all depends on what you do with your lips while wearing these HAHA. They do fade to a stain, which I love. I like them!

Worth getting one in a bright fun colour I say! One of these will definitely brighten up your winter!

Wow, we’re in the middle of January already! Sorry I’ve been MIA, but after the New Year we went to California with Marky, and then of course I caught a nasty head cold and have been sick the past week. But I’m back! And got lots more to share I promise!

Ok! Here are the rest of the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick swatches I promised you.

And not just swatches- but pics of them on MY FACE. Because I think you SHOULD see lipsticks ON a blogger’s face-not just arm swatches, or just pretty pics of just the lipsticks themselves. THAT’S CALLED ACTUAL BLOGGING FOR THE READERS. Hey, I get it-maybe some bloggers don’t have time…sure, I’m busy too? And it’s a pain in the ass to take full face pics. I get it. And to be honest-I’m getting older and older by the minute and it’s getting nerve-racking to post pics of my aging face here. But I think it’s important to show what a lipstick looks like on my face! I really do! If all I and other readers ever see are just swatches on arms, or just close-ups of your lips(which I used to do too, but if you’ve noticed I don’t anymore because honestly, it really doesn’t tell a reader that much) or just pretty pics of JUST the lipstick? It makes readers wonder if you really do wear and use the makeup! Just sayin’, and being my big-ole’ big mouth can’t keep quiet Tracy as usual  😛 #minirant

MANDATORY-If-You-Call-Yourself-A-Beauty Blogger-Arm-Swatches, right Paris? 😀

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick C502, C105, C603, M401, C211, C506

So, C means satin finish, and M means matte. No sheers in the Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipsticks, which is ok by me. The satin finishes are super creamy, super comfy, and mildly hydrating even. You already know from yesterday’s post how I feel about the mattes, which is just plain LOVE. The pigment is out of this world on both finishes, and lasting power is pretty awesome-easily a between meals lasting time.

An easy to wear peachy nude! A lip-liner is needed if you have pretty pigmented lips like mine, which I didn’t use here, but when I wear this one you better believe I do.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick C211

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick C211.jpg

This shade for me is a MLLB shade-it’s pretty close to my natural lip shade and I love it. An every-day, no fuss, wear everywhere shade.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M401

Gorgeous bright, matte red that everyone needs in their lipstick wardrobe! Love it lots!

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick C506

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick C506.jpg

Gorgeous plum berry shade that’s very on trend right now. I love it, but I think I’d prefer this kind of a shade to be a matte, as it would be less of a fuss to deal with while wearing. But, that’s me and my personal preference speaking there. And then again, that sheen (。•̀ᴗ-)✧  on this shade is GORGEOUS.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick C502

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick C502.jpg

Make Up For Ever calls this one Taupe-Violet, but I kind of think it’s more of a greyed-violet. Not an easy to wear shade, especially when you’re almost 50! Again, a lip liner or a concealer should be used to block out your lip pigment when you wear a shade like this. I do appreciate this shade is a cream though, as a matte might have made it settle into lip lines. Although, I do think that this brilliant new formula could have handled this greyed-violet in a matte.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick C603

This shade is called Midnight Blue by Icona Pop and it’s a LE shade, so if it’s something that speaks to you, better get it quick!

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick C603.jpg

I used to love shades like this! And I still do, but this is a little too warm for my skin tone, and in all honesty, it should have been a matte. It’s too fussy for my liking, and I prefer blotting it down if I venture to wear this shade out. I haven’t yet, as all I’ve done lately is go to zumba or shopping for Christmas stuff. But if I had a party to go to? I’d try and rock it. Why not? It’s only makeup, and it’s meant to be FUN. This shade with icy silvery eyes and some gorgeous navy too would look BEAUTIFUL.

There you go! So, any of these shades appeal to you? I love the formula, and think getting one in a shade that’s perfect for you is worth the $27 CAD.

And, do you agree? Do you like seeing lipsticks on a face as well?

You all must know by now that Make Up For Ever reformulated their Artist Rouge Lipsticks. I’m a little late to the lipstick party here, but PFFT-does that really matter? Maybe, but I’m gonna revive that lipstick party train for ya’ll just before you need a Christmas Party lipstick!

DANG…these are some NICE lipsticks you guys. You need a lipstick that’s as perfect as Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204 is for me! And I know you can find one because there are like fifty-something shades that range from the avant-garde to the just plain beautiful.

To refresh our makeup-obsessed minds, Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipsticks now pack 25% more pigment than before and yeah, these are one swipers. SO PIGMENTED. But yet, they feel so light on the lips as to opposed say a NARS Audacious lipstick. Those are a heavier formula for sure. Make Up For Ever feels better on the lips, easier to wear, hydrating-even the mattes like my shade here. The mattes go on with a velvety finish at first and dry down more matte after some wear time. I like that. Kind of eases you into that whole matte feeling.

Isn’t she a BEAUTY?!!! I loves me a fresh tube of lipstick. It’s one of my favourite things, and it doesn’t have to be wrapped up in brown paper packaging and strings either….   😛

Swatchy Time!

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204 is a perfect, bright shade of pinky-red that just perks up my face! Raspberry Pink Make Up Forever calls it! It gives me life! And makes me look a WHOLE lot younger. Pinky reds like this one take 10 years off my face I swear.

Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204.jpg

wearing Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipstick M204

I love these new Make Up For Ever Artist Rouge Lipsticks! I have a few other shades as well-let me know if you’d like to see some of them and I’ll oblige of course. The satin finishes are just as lovely as the mattes. But, if you are looking for a party-perfect matte lipstick? I say look at these, particularly the shade M501 which is a Plum Violet. I’m getting that one next, and I think it’d be PERFECT for Christmas and winter!

What shade of lipstick makes you look younger? You need to find that ONE shade, and when you do-you will know!

 photo IMG_5108.jpg

I found two perfect berry lipsticks for fall that don’t make me look OLD haha. Berry shades are getting harder and harder for me to wear. They can be quite aging believe it or not. And the last thing I want to do is make my lips look smaller, which is really easy to do lately. #thanksmenopause

Burberry Lip Velvet No.425 Damson ($38)

Burberry Lip Velvet No.425 Damson.jpg

Burberry Lip Velvet No.425 Damson

Burberry Lip Velvets rank right up there in my fave matte lipstick list. They are so comfy! They go on creamy, and dry to a soft-matte finish on the lips that’s not drying at all. The formula is pretty close to perfect in my eyes. Every shade I have(I think this is my third) is awesome and pigmented, lasts forever, and fades beautifully. Expensive, yes. But oh so worth it!

Burberry Lip Velvet No.425 Damson is a perfect plummy berry that’s easily my favourite fall lipstick this year!

Smashbox Always On Liquid Lipstick Girl Gang ($28)

Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick Girl Gang.jpg

Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick Girl Gang

I got Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick Girl Gang after I saw it on my friend Dani on Instagram. She looked amazing and so gorgeous! And so, I wanted to join the Girl Gang too!

Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick Girl Gang.jpg

Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipstick Girl Gang

I think it looks better on Dani than on me(plus I mean her lips are EPIC), but I still LOVE it. It’s darker than Burberry Damson, but not too dark so that it ages me. Smashbox Always On Matte Liquid Lipsticks are a great formula-not too drying compared to other liquid lipsticks. But to say they aren’t drying at all is a stretch. Let’s get real-most matte liquid lipsticks are. I find if I prep my lips with a good lip balm before application, I’m good to go for hours.

Smashbox Always On Mattes last forever and you need a good makeup remover to take them off. This shade Girl Gang is a bit fussier to apply compared to Babe Alert, which is a lighter one that I have. It takes a bit of time to get opaque coverage, but it’s so worth it as you can see. And to be honest, when it’s not completely opaque, it still looks kind of cool-a kind of effortless ombre lip. I like it a lot!

What’s your favourite Fall lipstick shade?
