I loves me a good challenge. Always have, always will. I like a fight… what can I say…should have taken up boxing now that I think about it! There’s not much that can keep this old chick down…and I say that with pride! From being bullied as a chubby child yet STILL playing basketball and volleyball, to being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 15 years ago and STILL able to do Zumba-yeah I know I’m talking extremes here… but it’s all TRUE. Nothing has ever been all that easy for me. Life has been a challenge all the way. And, you know what gives me HUGE anxiety??!! Fashion and stuff like that! I live in leggings, jeans, t-shirts, workout clothes, runners..you get the idea. Oh sure, I love accessories and makeup and shoes…but that other stuff that goes along with being a girl??!! BIGGEST CHALLENGE OF TRACY’S LIFE. Multiple Sclerosis has been EASY compared to coordinating an outfit! I’m serious….#FashionChallenged

So when I was contacted to take part in the Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge, I hesitated for a bit. But then I thought…dude you can do this… 😛

Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge.jpg

Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge

I took some inspiration from Walmart’s Online Look Book which is kind of a wow for style challenged people like me! Take a look at it-it’s kind of awesome! You can shop for a specific Look, Colour Trend, Occasion or Theme of your choosing. And then when you actually go to Walmart, look for directional ‘How-To’ signage to guide your way to get your SPRING ON baby!

Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge

Wanna see what I got? I’m kind of proud of myself…and it only took me an hour and a half…with some help from Terry HAHAHAHA. Yeah, that’s right…I needed my hubby’s help! He’s kind of got a good eye for colour!

Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge.jpg

Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge

A dress! A DRESS. I hauled a maxi dress! How could I not? It was only $12…MY GOD. Walmart’s George line has great prices! And it’s nice too! I love it!

I’m not a huge fan of sandals to be honest, but these Dr.Scholl’s flats are a nice cross between sneakers and flats, so they’re fancier, right? My feet need more support than most flats can offer, plus look at this happy shade of bright red! Kind of makes the navy in the dress pop, hey? That’s what Terry said LOL! Like I said, my dude knows his colour! Maybe I’m getting this fashion thingy…   😛  Sort of?? hahahaha  😀 😀

And from now on I’ve decided to match my lipstick to my shoes…that’s style, right? RIGHT. That there is Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick 895 Poppy and LOVE it.

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick 895 Poppy.jpg

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick 895 Poppy

If you haven’t tried one of these Revlon Ultra HD lipsticks yet-DO IT. Yeah, they smell, sure. But they smell GOOD. Like some kind of amazing vanilla/caramel cake that’s so full of calories that WOW you’re saving your hips from Armageddon by wearing this…. True story.   😛  As you can tell, I love the smell, but maybe it is a bit much if you hate smells… but PFFTTTT... these are so lightweight and I can’t believe how pigmented and comfy they are! You have to get one.

Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge.jpg

Maybelline’s BB Cream has SPF30 and I think it’s a summer must have. It’s nice and light, evens out my skin tone, protects my skin from the sun…what else do you need when the weather warms up? And the Rimmel London Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint in Sunkissed Cherry is perfect for the summer. It goes really well with bronzers…which btw…I HAD to get this one, the Physician’s Formula City Glow Daily Defense Bronzer Paris!

Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge.jpg

Physician’s Formula City Glow Daily Defense Bronzer Paris

SERIOUSLY LOOK AT IT. HOLY MAN what a pretty bronzer! Also, I want to go back to Paris REAL BAD… so yeah! This was more expensive than my dress HAHAHA at $14.93, but worth every freakin’ penny because LOOK AT IT. So finely milled! Soft! And just the right amount of glow for a pale girl like me! I think I may have a serious bronzer addiction… I almost bought another one by Guerlain today until I slapped my face and reminded myself I had already gotten this one…and to be honest..they’re kind of the same once swatched so save yourself some $$$$ and get this one instead!

And since I’ve been having a hard time with my life turquatic lately, I had to get this Maybelline Color Tattoo in #40 Tenacious Teal, and WOW! I’m so glad I did! It’s amazingly pigmented and gorgeous!

SEE that TEAL!!! I’m so excited to try it! It’s perfect for summer!

And because I’m a practical Beauty Blogger, this is what rounded out my Walmart Spring Shopping Challenge. Lady Speed Stick Clinical Protection Triple Defense Antiperspirant because DUDE. Summer=SWEAT. Need it. And Live Clean has the most awesome little travel pack of their amazing skincare right now that’s just perfect for if, and more likely WHEN I go back to California…  😛 And it was less than $8???!!! Amazing. If you haven’t tried out any of their skincare yet, you really should! It’s nice! And it comes in an airplane ready travel pack too! Perfect!

Yup! I think I passed this Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge with flying colours! Right? I’m patting myself on the shoulder as I write this post, because seriously I’m not kidding- this was SO HARD for me! Do you find fashion/style as challenging as I do?

This post is sponsored by Walmart Canada, as part of the #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge. In exchange for this review, I have received special perks in the form of products and/or compensation. All opinions on this blog are my own.

When you are hot and flashy like I am, foundations start to become a forbidden zone. Why? Your body core temperature rises like a million degrees(ok, it’s about 6 degrees LOL but DANG it sure feels like that) you experience foundations just MELTING off of your face during a hot flash. It’s not pretty. I’m telling you, as much as I hated having a period and was actually counting the days until menopause? Hot flashes are SO MUCH WORSE than bleeding every month. I’m one of the lucky?unlucky? women that actually gets an “aura,” or an uneasy feeling just before the hot flash happens. It’s weird-I feel anxious and my heart starts to miss a beat and then BOOM. A sudden, intense, hot feeling on my face and upper chest starts and then radiates through my whole body and it’s just horrible and HOT. My face and chest turn bright red, and most of the time I’ll start to sweat too. My hot flashes last about 30 seconds to even a few minutes. Sweaters and scarves have become off limits lately 🙁 . And ME. ME who used to sit in the house all bundled up in the winter, now wears a T-SHIRT.

So where was I? Oh, yeah LOL. I’m talking about how I can’t wear foundations anymore! So what does hot and flashy Tracy use then? THIS.

Vichy Idealia BB Cream .jpg

Vichy Idealia BB Cream

This is Vichy Idealia BB Cream and I love it.
Swatchy Time!

Vichy Idealia BB Cream. jpg

Vichy Idealia BB Cream in light and medium, then blended out

Vichy Idealia BB Cream has become my go-to over the last few months. I REALLY love the Vichy ProEVEN BB Cream, but this? This is nice too! Vichy really makes some great BB Creams you guys! And I’m glad to have another BB option in one of my favourite brands!

Vichy Idealia BB Cream has pink corrective mineral pigments that brighten your complexion instantly. It’s enriched with Kombucha, which is a clarity-boosting active ingredient. Kombucha is a lightly effervescent fermented drink of sweetened black and/or green tea and it increases the radiance, transparency, and clarity of the skin. Day after day, Vichy Idelia BB Cream will help illuminate the skin from within!

The texture of Vichy Idealia BB Cream is DIVINE, and it’s why I’ve been reaching for it at this hot and flashy time of life. It’s hydrating, but yet not suffocating. My skin can breathe, even during a hot flash! It just glides on and melts into my skin leaving a really natural, glowing finish. I really notice that it gives a pink, glowy look to my skin, so I tend to add a bit of powder like MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Light Plus to add a bit of yellow back into my skin. But most days I don’t bother, as the less I have on my skin, the better! It’s a really lovely BB Cream, and if you’re in the market for something that’s got a bit of coverage, is lightweight and comfy? This is it!

I love how Vichy keeps on surprising me with awesome products! Such a great brand and I truly do love them!

What’s your favourite BB Cream at the moment? Or are you still a foundation gal? I’ve kinda given up on foundations at the moment-the ease of BB and CC creams are just so much more my style!

*products sent by the lovely PR whom I adore! Thoughts are mine as always because lordy, this hot and flashy gal doesn’t put up with anymore $$!!! anymore.

When a product claims to be “anti-redness” my reaction is RIGHT. SURE. These green colour correctors NEVER work well. And sometimes they even leave you looking like that green alien chick Kirk had a thing for. And unless young Captain Kirk is lurking around Edmonton, I don’t like looking green. To quote my favourite Muppet: It’s not easy being green, ya’ know? So, I hope you can appreciate my lack of enthusiasm when L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness($16.99) showed up for me to test out.

New! L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness.jpg

New! L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness

I am ASTOUNDED that I like L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness as much as I do! Although, I’m not sure why L’Oreal Paris decided to call it a BB Cream, as it’s more of a colour corrector, which to me means CC Cream? But it does offer some light coverage, so I guess BB Cream is correct? Arrgh, these alphabet creams are going to be the death of me I swear…

Swatchy Time!

New! L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Rednessjpg

New! L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness swatches yummy minty green! My favourite spring shade! But it has some flecks of colour adjusting pigments that adapt to your skin tone needs when you blend it in. Sort of. I do think it’s a tad on the orange side, which scared the BEJEEZUS outta me. I was pretty darn sure there was NO WAY L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness was going to work for me.

Sigh. If I only had a nickel for every time I thought that. I’d be a freakin’ millionaire by now. But this time? This is a perfect instance of when ONE PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS.

Ok, but I do have a few words to say hahaha! I have a lot of redness in my face, even though I do have yellow tones. I use a lot of anti-aging skincare which contributes to the redness, plus my skin is extra-sensitive. I’m one of those people you touch and I’m RED for a week. I have a glass of wine? RED CHEEKS. Oh, oh! And when I exercise? I turn so, SO red. When I used to belong to a gym, it would really freak out people. They’d constantly ask me if I was ok, and I’d have to reassure them-YEAH, I’m FINE. It got annoying, so that’s one of the reasons I exercise on my own now. I got tired of people thinking I was going to keel over any minute!

Anyways, here’s my red face before. Besides the redness, I’m actually quite happy with my skin at the moment. I don’t have a lot of wrinkles, and my hyper pigmentation keeps getting better and better and non existent thanks to sunscreen and Vichy ProEVEN, and some new Vitamin C that I’ve added to my skincare.

L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness BEFORE.jpg

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness BEFORE

And here’s what the L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness does for me!

L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness AFTER.jpg

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness AFTER

Are you KIDDING ME? Are you SERIOUSLY KIDDING ME??? Yeah, I know it’s too dark for me, and my neck doesn’t match, but that stark orange colour really did a number on the redness, hey? I can’t believe it! I’ve never had a product make my skin look so evenly toned! Ok, time for more makeup!

L'Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness After, with MAC Mineralized SkinFinish Natural in Medium applied over top.jpg

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness After, with MAC Mineralized SkinFinish Natural in Medium applied over top

A little concealer and MAC Mineralized SkinFinish Natural in Medium is all I used over top of the L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness. And blush. ALWAYS blush. And YES, I know my neck is still pale in comparison. But all I need is a bit of bronzer and BAZINGA! it would look fine. I actually have this problem with most of my foundations, so I use Guerlain Terracotta Spray SPF 10 bronzer on my neck to make it match better. I HAVE A BIG HEAD OK. My neck NEVER sees the sun LOL!

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness is kind of runny, so be careful when you squirt some out. It’s got silicones, sigh, but they aren’t too heavy that I get all jumpy about it. They don’t make L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness feel heavy and suffocating, so my acne-prone sensitive skin seems to tolerate it well, YAY! It dries down matte and almost powdery, which is perfect for the summer. I get about 8 hours of wear before it starts to disappear, which is all I personally need when it comes to wear time. A primer might prolong that wear for you. Actually, I think L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness would make a dandy primer! For me, it would be too much. I like light coverage, but if you are a full coverage kinda’ gal, then this would be a great primer if you have redness. It does a good job of filling in pores and wrinkles because of the bit of silicones in it. Truth be told, it feels a lot like the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer that a lot of people love. So, if that’s something you like, or have wanted to try, then give this a shot! It’s a lot cheaper that’s for dang sure!

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness is part of the L’Oreal Paris Fall Collection, which is supposed to be out in stores in June sometime. FALL? NOW? Cripes. Gimme a chance to feel the sun, will  ya’? All it takes is about 5 minutes of above 25C though, and I’m ready for fall truth be told hahaha!

So? Whaddaya think? Are you as surprised as I am? And do you use colour correctors? I think they are one product that truthfully should be left to the Pros, but something like this? Changes my mind a bit. Although, I do think that lot of people would walk around with pale necks like I’ve shown and not fix it with a bronzer(Trust me, I DO fix mine, I just wanted to show the product in all its realness).

*product sent by PR for review, thoughts, even the crazy ones are mine as always! 😀

Estee Lauder Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup($45) is a luminous, long-wear BB Cream. Yup. And yes, it truly is one of the more long-wearing BB Creams I’ve tried! The packaging is rather meh to be honest. It kinda’ lacks any kind of pizazz, right?

Estee Lauder Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup.jpg

Estee Lauder Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup

Especially with that DIN # plastered on the front there. I mean, kudos for you Estee Lauder in getting that DIN health number from Canada. Must have been a major FEAT since most brands just choose to cover up any SPF info with a sticker and call it a day. But you guys? You ROCK for filling out all them forms. But, call me crazy, I do think if you’re gonna launch ANOTHER FREAKIN’ BB CREAM in this over-saturated BB market, you need some PIZAZZ to stand out, right? This is kind of..I don’t know..ordinary? I don’t know. I’m just a chick who likes makeup, but sometimes I do think packaging lures me in, ya’ know? This one does not. It’s generic and a tiny bit…sad?

Estee Lauder Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup has soft optical correctors- transparent, opalescent mica that deliver instant luminosity to the skin. GLOW BABY. And you know I like GLOW! It also has hyaluronic acid and glycerin to moisturize. Yes! Plus it’s made to last 8 hours, which is pretty great for a BB Cream I think. Most of them disappear on me way before 8 hours. This does not!

Estee Lauder Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup.jpg

Estee Lauder Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup

The shade 2 I was sent is a little dark for me, so I used some self tanner on my face and it’s a pretty perfect match now! God, I wish I was shade 2 naturally sometimes. Life would be so much easier when it comes to foundation matching. There are 8 shades available, which is pretty great for a BB Cream if you think about it. Most of them come in 3 shades at the most. I just gotta get my hands on shade 1 and that would make me a happy beauty blogger! Also, I live for the day when I’m NOT shade 1 in some foundation range. I think I’d have to sell the house and buy an RV. One with a shower for sure. And then park that RV down in Phoenix with all the other Canadians who live there. Give me a couple of years in that environment and I’d be shade 2 EASY.
Estee Lauder Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup does a really great job of evening out my skin tone and correcting redness. Take a looksy!

 photo ESTEELAUDERALLDAYBBGLOWPicMonkeyCollage.jpg

*Nothing on my face, just the EL All Day Glow BB Cream, The rest of my makeup*

Yet it still looks quite natural on the skin, hey? It doesn’t look like I have a ton of foundation on my skin, which frankly I can’t stand in the summer. Actually that’s a lie. I can’t really stand heavy makeup at ANY TIME of the year, and prefer lighter coverage all of the time. Even if my skin is acting up. I’d much rather put extra concealer on spots than have to make a full coverage foundation look natural. But, that’s me….and I realize everyone is different! To each his/her own and power to you. 😀

No brush needed with this stuff, I just use my hands for BB Creams. It smooths on nicely, and doesn’t feel tacky at all like other glowy BB Creams. It dries down nicely, yet leaves a pretty, discreet glow to my face. Not anything glowy and obvious, just a HEYYYY GURLL you look NIIIICE kinda’ glow. And did I mention that Estee Lauder Double Wear All-Day Glow BB Moisture Makeup has SPF30 too? Because OH YEAH it does. And this old chick likes that.

I think Estee Lauder makes some pretty awesome BB creams. This is the second one I’ve tried, and actually the first one I bought I actually FINISHED. HELLO. I rarely finish off ANYTHING, so that’s something something right there, hey? I think Estee Lauder makes some of the best BB creams out there to be honest. If you’re in the market for one, please do look at their offerings!

Do you BB Cream? Or not? Or are you a hardcore foundation kinda’ gal?

*product sent by PR for review, thoughts are mine as always. 😀

L’Oreal Paris wants you to enjoy the sun. They really do! Have fun! Frolic! But they also want you to protect it, with the best possible sun protection that you can really count on, and that’s why they’ve created L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun.

Most of the time when someone tells me that they don’t use sunscreen, their excuse is that they don’t like the way it feels on their skin. You know, that heavy, stifling, GREASY feeling that screams I am wearing sunscreen. Well, now that excuse just won’t cut it anymore. L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun is sun care that meets skin care and that means you’ll get the most beautiful skin under the sun, without compromise, and here are the reasons WHY:

  • L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun products have a patented UV filter system for long-lasting, broad spectrum protection against UVA1, UVA2 and UVB rays.
  • They’re all non-comedogenic and won’t cause acne and are suitable for sensitive skins.
  • They are water resistant for 80 minutes.
  • They contain luxurious antioxidant skincare ingredients like grape seed oil. sea buckthorn oil, shea oil, sunflower seed oil, and vitamin E to nourish, hydrate and protect the skin against free radicals
  • They come in every texture, so there’s something that will suit everyone.
  • They smell SO SO GOOD. The scent of L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun products is built just like a fragrance with top notes of Aloe Vera and Coconut Milk, heart notes of Ylang-Ylang and white peony, and base notes of fig milk and tonk a bean.

Sounds pretty darn good, hey? Ok, let’s start with the good/bad, first? Or the bad/good first?

L'Oréal Paris Sublime Sun

L’OrĂ©al Paris Sublime Sun Silky Sheer Face Lotion and Silky Sheer BB Cream

L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun Silky Sheer Face Lotion and Silky Sheer BB Cream($14.99 each) have an SPF of 50. Both are ultra-light, oil free and have an ultra-light finish and feel. They feel like a dry oil going on, and upon rubbing them in they pretty much disappear. You have to shake them up before using them- they have one of those mixing balls inside. And as you can see, they are REALLY liquidy in texture which adds to their spreadability. Good so far, right?

L'Oréal Paris Sublime Sun.jpg

L’OrĂ©al Paris Sublime Sun Silky Sheer Face Lotion and Silky Sheer BB Cream

The BB Cream has a tint to it, and I know it looks scary on my pasty arm there, and that’s because it IS. It’s NOT good for pale skin like mine! It leaves a light orange shade to my skin which is a nope! I’m not sure WHO this shade of orange is for, but I’m pretty sure they don’t live on planet Earth! It feels like nothing on your skin, which I do like! Both of them do, although I find the untinted one a bit more hydrating, which is weird because usually a BB Cream means skincare, no? But, if you are pale like I am, or just a human, get the un-tinted one. PLEASE. I think you’d have to be a lot darker than me, or from the planet Zorgon to be able to use the BB Cream version and walk around with just that on your face! Sorry L’Oreal! 😀

L'Oréal Paris Sublime Sun .jpg

L’OrĂ©al Paris Sublime Sun-L’OrĂ©al Paris Sublime Sun Quick Dry Sheer Spray SPF30, SPF50, L’OrĂ©al Paris Sublime Sun After Sun Rich Repairing Lotion, L’OrĂ©al Paris Sublime Sun Silky Sheer Mousse SPF30, SPF50, L’OrĂ©al Paris Sublime Sun Invisible Protect Sheer Spray SPF30, SPF50

L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun Quick Dry Sheer Spray SPF30, SPF50($14.99) is the brand’s first alcohol-free sheer finish spray that dries INSTANTLY. You can’t feel ANYTHING on your skin I swear, but after you apply it your skin feels soft and smooth! Really cool! This one is my husband’s favourite. It’s not sticky and feels drier to the touch than any other spray SPF I’ve ever tried. In fact, it’s what we’ve brought to California with us this time and loving it.

L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun Silky Sheer Mousse SPF30, SPF50($14.99) is the NEATEST sunscreen you’ll ever try! It’s an ultra-light, non sticky mousse that just MELTS onto your skin. It absorbs FAST, and makes your skin feel so soft and smooth! Again, not sticky at all. It’s pretty amazing! You have to try this one too!

L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun Invisible Protect Sheer Spray SPF30, SPF50($14.99) is a dry oil spray that’s not greasy at all. This one leaves a beautiful satin soft finish to the skin, making it glow and look healthy.

L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun After Sun Rich Repairing Lotion is a moisturizer that instantly soothes and nourishes skin after sun exposure. It moisturizes skin for 24 hours, and gives it loads of antioxidants to help repair. Feels so good and cooling.

L'Oreal Paris Sublime Sun.jpg

a shot glass of sunscreen a day to keep sun damage away.

One piece of advice that L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun wants me to pass on, is that you need a shot glass of sunscreen a day to keep sun damage away. That’s 30 ml worth of sunscreen you need applied to your entire body to get maximum protection. (I wouldn’t count face application in that measurement-that’s extra in my book!)

You can find L’Oreal Paris Sublime Sun products at most mass market retailers and drugstores across Canada.

These are some pretty incredible sunscreens y’all! The textures are incredible and all feel pretty invisible, yet good on the skin. I’m kind of blown away by them! Sunscreens have sure come a long way baby! What’s your favourite sunscreen?

*products sent by the lovely PR, thoughts are mine as always!

Sometimes I feel like another month goes by, another BB Cream debuts! I thought pretty much everybody under the sun that makes skincare and cosmetics had made a BB Cream by now. But, I was wrong! HAHAHA. There’s still a couple that this old Makeup Junkie has to try out!

RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream.jpg

RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream

One of my favourite French skincare brands, RoC has finally launched its new BB Cream, RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream It’s the first one to contain retinol, and that’s why it took so long to finally come to market. And THAT my friends, is SOMETHING! No other BB Cream on the market right now contains retinol. And for sure not Roc Retinol, which is one of the BEST around.

From the brand: RoC multi correxion 5 in 1 perfecting BB cream is a lightweight, multi-action product that helps perfect and protect skin in one simple step. This anti-aging perfecting cream with RoC retinol and sheer, blendable coverage: fights lines and wrinkles helps improve the appearance of dark spots smoothes uneven texture brightens skin tones moisturizes instantly.

RoC multi correxion 5 in 1 perfecting BB cream has an airless pump to ensure efficacy of the good for you skincare ingredients that RoC has put in there. YES. How happy that makes me, I can’t tell ya’!

RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream .jpg

RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream

RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream has the dreaded “colour adapting technology” that’s usually just a heinous word to us fair-skinned gals. But you know what? This time, it actually works quite well for me! But if you are fairer than I am, this probably won’t work for you. 🙁 For reference, I’m an NW 15 in MAC, or the first to second lightest shade in other foundations. Truth be told, I’m more neutral, so that NW 15 in MAC is just as easily an NC15. I can wear both quite easily, just depends on how I feel that day. I usually have to mix foundations to find a match, unless the brand does a neutral range. If your’e like me, Lancome and Clinique are really great at matching us neutral gals FYI.

Swatchy time!

RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream swatch.jpg

RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream swatch

RoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream swatch looks a tad dark for me in the swatch, but trust me! It does adapt to my skin tone quite well as you can see below in the pics!

Here’s the before and after with RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 perfecting BB cream:

before and after withRoC Multi-Correxion 5-in-1 BB Cream.jpg

The first pic is my sad bare face, the second is just wearing the RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Perfecting BB Cream, and the last is my full face of makeup.

RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Perfecting BB Cream feels GOOD on my face. It’s light and does exactly what I want a BB Cream to do: correct my red cheeks and even out my skin tone. And as you can see, it does that! In the last picture with my full makeup face, all I added on top of it was my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light Plus, and some under eye concealer-that’s it for base makeup. Not bad, hey? I love that it has SPF25 in it as well. I always love when there’s added SPF to my foundations, but I don’t rely on them exclusively. I always use SPF 60 before any foundation or BB Cream. I can’t attest to any of the skincare benefits that this claims to give, like firmed up skin, reduced wrinkles and such, as I’ve only used it for a couple of weeks. Truth be told, I don’t expect any colour makeup products to really give my skin some kind of benefit. But this one has retinol! So I do have high hopes I will see something with continued use, like hopefully some reduction in pigmentation at least. I’ll report back for sure if I see anything.

I get a good 8 hours before RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Perfecting BB Cream fades on me. It feels comfortable on, and I don’t get oily at all wearing it. It’s a keeper! And worthy of a try this summer!

Find RoC Multi Correxion 5 in 1 Perfecting BB Cream wherever it’s sold in Canada, like Shopper’s Durg Mart and Rexall.

The weather is getting warmer that’s for sure! Do you lighten up your foundation as well as the weather gets nicer? Do you favour BB Creams in the summer as well?

*product sent by the lovely PR for review, thoughts are mine!

Yup! Another BB Cream to show you! But this one is different!

Max/Effects Naturals Botanical BB Cream

This is Max/Effects Naturals Botanical BB Cream($23.99 CDN), and it’s free from gluten, animal by-products, artificial fragrances, parabens, and petroleum by-products. It’s  made with 99.73% natural or naturally derived ingredients, with 81.86% of plant material used in it being organic. Love the packaging-the airless pump dispenser keeps it fresh and is so much better than the messy squeazy tubes most BB Creams are housed in, don’t ya’ think?

Max/Effects Naturals Botanical BB Cream swatch

Max/Effects Naturals Botanical BB Cream only comes in one colour option, and it’s a tad dark for me as you can see(for reference I’m NW15-20 in MAC). EVERYTHING seems to be a bit too dark for me lately! And I even have a bit of a tan at the moment! Here’s me before with nothing on, with Max/Effects Naturals Botanical BB Cream on, and then some powder on top of it with the rest of my makeup:

The texture of Max/Effects Naturals Botanical BB Cream is thick and creamy, much like most organic foundations/tinted moisturizers that I’ve tried, and it gives just a kiss of coverage. Any issues you have will require a concealer to cover them. I find it works best by rubbing in a little at a time because there’s not a lot of slip to the cream. If you just glop a lot on at once, it’ll just start to rub off of your skin, which you don’t want. Working it in little by little makes it sink into your skin. You can see by my swatch on my arm what I mean. See how it just melted into my arm?  It doesn’t stay tacky like a lot of other BB Creams, and dries down quite quickly leaving a smooth, matte finish that isn’t drying at all. Even my dry skin feels hydrated when wearing it! My skin feels balanced and good. No breakouts either because there’s no silicones in it, and I like that! There’s no official SPF as per say in Max/Effects Naturals Botanical BB Cream, but as you can see one of the ingredients is Titanium Dioxide, so that means there’s a bit of a physical sunscreen you get when wearing it. However, I’d still wear a sunscreen underneath. I wear SPF 60 every day.

I like Max/Effects Naturals Botanical BB Cream and think it’s an option for those looking for something more natural to use. I can’t actually think of another mostly natural/organic BB Cream in the Canadian market right now, except for this one!

You can order Max/Effects Naturals Botanical BB Cream here, or from amazon.ca as well! And while you’re ordering, make sure you add my FAVOURITE makeup remover:
