If you’re a beauty junkie like me( it’s ok-you can admit it here-I promise I won’t tell!) then you go through a lot of products before using them up because you want to try the next new thing that’s come out. I don’t think I’ve ever used up a blush for example.
Skincare is usually different for me though, especially if I find something that works and I love. Caudalie Beauty Elixir falls into that category for me.

I first discovered Caudalie Beauty Elixir at Disneyland one hot summer. Wandering through Downtown Disney’s Sephora, I spotted it and decided to spritz it on my face and BAM! I felt cooler and instantly refreshed. I was hooked.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir is a toner/serum mist that contains essential oils and grape extract. It’s supposed to boost circulation, tone and energize your complexion.

I use Caudalie Beauty Elixir every morning after washing my face. I spray it on with my eyes closed. Trust me, you don’t want to get Caudalie Beauty Elixir in your eyes because it will sting. It ‘s so fresh and cooling at first, and then this tingly sensation happens that’s just energizing and makes my face glow. It really wakes me up! Caudalie Beauty Elixir has a fresh herbal/plant smell that I also love.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir hydrates just enough to make your face smooth after applying it. You can use it to set your mineral or powder makeup.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir is my #1 Repurchased Beauty Product and I wouldn’t want to go a day without it!

MAC’s Fabulous Felines Collection came out this past week and only 3 things appealed to me:

Leopard Luxe Quad,  Aristocat Lipstick, and Pet Me Blush

Swatches from left to right:  Pet Me, Aristocat, Leopard Luxe Quad
The eyeshadows are great colours, but the payoff is not what you usually get from a MAC eyeshadow. They remind me more of what Chanel eyeshadows are like when I swatch them. I don’t own any Chanel eyeshadows-yet.  😉  You have to work a little to build up the colour, but that can be ok if you tend to have a heavy hand or are starting to get a little creasy in the eyelids because of age.
Pet Me blush is a great mineralized blush. I always love MAC’s mineralized blushes. And I just couldn’t resist the lavender Aristocat lipstick-I think it’s a great way to wear pink in the fall.
I didn’t pick up any of the new Superslick Eyeliners-they were so shiny when I swatched them so I wasn’t sure about that. I kind of like my eyeliner to not be so obvious. But if liquid eyeliner is your main thing, then you will love these. The colour intensity is great.
What do you think of MAC Fabulous Felines? Did you get anything from the collection? Or are you like me and really saving your money for the Disney Venomous Villains collection that comes out at the end of the month?

I just realized I never posted about my two other Make Up Forever Aqua Cream colours in #14 and #15.

#14 is a warm brown and #15 is a taupe brown. They are both shimmery.
#14 is on the left, #15 on the right
I do really like the Make Up Forever Aqua Creams-they are very highly pigmented and do last a long time. I like using mine more as a base to intensify my eyeshadow colour rather than wearing them on their own. #14 is close in colour to Antiqued by MAC and #15 is close to Satin Taupe also by MAC.
The one thing I have to mention about the Make Up Forever Aqua Creams is that they dry out REALLY fast. I don’t know if you can tell from my picture or not, but my #14 is starting to pull away from the edge of the container-like when you bake a cake. It’s starting to dry out! So make sure that you close your Make Up Forever Aqua Creams up tightly after you use them. Tightly! Or another good idea would be to take some out that you need for a week or so and put it into a little travel jar of some kind. That way you’re not opening up your original Makeup Forever Aqua Cream container every time you use it. I think this would extend the life of them tremendously.

I thought I would show you a few of my favourite Bare Escentual Eyeshadows. I’m getting back into using them again. I’d fallen out of love with them because I was finding they didn’t last very long on my oily lids, but now that I use a primer plus Mac’s Painterly Paint Pot, they are becoming my fast and easy eye look.

My favourite Bare Escentual eye colours are called Glimmers. They are really soft and translucent eye colours that can be worn in the day or amped up for night. They can be used dry or wet.

My first two are Nude Beach( pinky warm sand) and Celestine ( taupe ivory):

Because Bare Escentual Glimmers are so light reflecting, I find that just one colour on your lid and blended into the crease adds dimension and looks like you spent a lot more time on your look. Add some eyeliner and mascara and you have a pretty eye look!

Well, it’s almost time for me to go back to work. I love the whole “Back to School” idea even though I’m 42 (cringe). To me it’s more of a fresh start/goal setting time of year than January 1st is. This year I’ve decided to stop procrastinating on a quite a few ideas and things I’ve wanted to do for a long time now, and they are:

  1. Start this blog. I’m a makeup junkie and I want to share my opinions on the multitude of beauty items that I buy, use, like, hate.
  2. Finish writing my book.
  3. Get back in shape.
  4. Learn to speak French-something I’ve always wanted to do.
  5. Be happier! Doing these things that I’ve been putting off I’m sure will help accomplish this one.

These are the things that I will focus on in my blog posts. I promise.
