My life will be getting significantly less complicated in the next month (at least I hope!), so I am thinking of ways to de-clutter, including my morning makeup routine. What do I really need to use so that I feel presentable/polished to the world? What five makeup products will do that for me?

Here are my Five Face The World Products:

Becca Lip & Cheek Creme, Kiehl’s Tinted Moisturizer, CoverGirl LashBlast, Tarte EmphasEYES Brow Pencil,
 MAC MSF Natural

 1. I NEED BLUSH, which probably doesn’t surprise you. This blush fiend can’t leave the house without blush on! Only five products means my blush will have to be a cream, so Becca Lip & Cheek Creme in Petal would be my choice. It is a great cream blush that can be used on the lips too. Stays put all day and gives a great, natural glow.

2.  A Tinted Moisturizer or a Liquid Foundation with SPF would be a must for me. I have redness issues and need a bit of coverage on my cheeks so that I can wear my beloved blushes. It’s all about the blush you know. I’ve been using the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer that I picked up this week and it’s very moisturizing. It’s been down right freezing where I live again, and this has been great. Plus, sunscreen is a must for me. SPF 15 is fine for now, but as Spring & Summer draw closer, I will need a stronger SPF than 15.

3. Mascara would be a must for me. Even though I have long lashes, I feel mascara really wakes up the eyes and makes them more open. CoverGirl LashBlast stays put on me without smudging, plus it’s cheap as borscht. I love borscht. There’s nothing like homemade borscht (beet soup) to warm the soul! if you’re going to make borscht, you need gloves though otherwise be prepared to sport red/pink hands for a week!

mmm, Borscht

4. I always define my brows no matter how little makeup I put on. I need to have my brows on. Nice brows really frame your whole face and looks polished. Tarte EmphasEYES Brow Pencil is great- it makes really small precise lines, has a twist up pencil, a brush on one end, is waterproof, and stays put all day. And if I felt like it, I could use it to line my upper lash line as well.

5. I kind of struggled with the fifth item, and finally decided on MAC MSF Natural. It gives great coverage(covers redness pretty well actually), looks great, plus has some built in SPF as well. This one is a split pan from a few years ago with a built in MSF highlighter. If you look closely, you can see that I’ve hit pan on it! I like this split pan version, and I wish they’d come out with it again. The highlighter is a bit sparkly for me, but I can make it work if I use very little. I can also use this on my eyes as a shadow/highlight.

So that’s my Five Face The World Products. What would be yours? Please share them!

I like Clinique mascaras. I think they are really underrated in the beauty community. The formulas are pretty great and do exactly what they are intended to do. So when I saw that Clinique came out with a mascara just for the bottom lashes, I knew it would be good.

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara has a teeny tiny brush that was designed specifically to grab every little hidden lash on your bottom lash line.
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara’s little wand makes applying mascara on your lower lashes really easy. Since I like volumizing mascaras, the wands are usually huge, so putting mascara on my bottom lashes is rather difficult and I usually end up poking myself in the eye and/or smearing a bit. This little wand ensures none of that will happen anymore.
Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara is a tube mascara, which means the formula wraps around each lash and lengthens while protecting from water, sweat and humidity. To remove Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara you just need warm water on a cotton pad, press gently on the lashes and then wiggle the mascara off.

with Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

As you can see, Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara works quite well, although I do not recommend wearing mascara just on your bottom lashes-my eyes look so droopy dog haha!

I had no problems with flaking or smearing all day and it was quite easy to remove at the end of the day.

I don’t usually wear mascara on my bottom lashes every day because of smearing and flaking, so I really like Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara. It would be great to wear for an evening out, for weddings, or whenever you don’t want to worry about having racoon eyes.

What do you think about a mascara just for the bottom lashes? Yay or Nay?

Marcelle is a great Canadian Cosmetics/Skincare Company that is found in drugstores. If you ask me, the quality of their products is right up there with brands found at Sephora.

I was cruising the Shopper’s Drug Mart aisles picking up some necessities, and noticed that Marcelle had a little display out with ten new colours in their Rouge Xpression Lipstick Line. I have actually never tried a lipstick from Marcelle, so I popped #855 Cleopatra in my basket.

Marcelle Rouge Xpression #855 Cleopatra

I need to get more of these! Best decision I made today I tell ya’!

Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipstick #855 Cleopatra is a creamy, gorgeous berry fuschia.

Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipsticks have a moisturizing Maxi-Lip complex that hydrates and plumps up your lips. There’s avocado oil and Omega-6 Oils to prevent dry, cracked lips too.

Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipstick in Cleopatra is creamy, pigmented, hydrating, and LASTS, even surviving a cup of coffee.  It feels very light and moist on the lips, almost like a lip balm. Seriously, this is one of the best lipsticks I’ve ever tried!

Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipstick in Cleopatra is a fantastic find! I need to try more Marcelle products. Who knows what other gems I’ve been missing?

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils are a fantastic new product. If you love Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners and how they stay put all day and look fantastic, then you need to try these!
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils are just like the eyeliners: they apply smoothly and are crease-proof. You need to work quickly to blend them out because after about a minute, the Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils dry and won’t budge. These shadow sticks stay put I tell you! To blend out you need a dense eye shadow brush like Smashbox #15 which is what I use. Urban Decay sells their own brush to blend out the Shadow Pencils too.

I bought 3 Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils:
Sin: a shimmery champagne which is my favourite. It has no sparkles and is so beautiful all over the lid.
Rehab: a shimmery taupey brown
Midnight Cowboy: a shimmery beige with tons of gold sparkles
Sin, Midnight Cowboy, Rehab
Trying to capture sparkles in Midnight Cowboy(middle swatch)

Midnight Cowboy is one of those infamous Urban Decay Shadows that is really pretty, but is so full of sparkles that major glitter fallout happens and turns most people off the shade. I’ve always been way too scared of it, but decided to try it in this new 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencil. There is a bit of fallout when you blend Midnight Cowboy 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils, but none after that. So if you’ve always wanted to try Midnight Cowboy or were disappointed by the fallout, then the shadow pencil is the way to go.

These Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils are so easy to use to create a really great eye look in just a few minutes.

Here I used Midnight Cowboy on my lid, blended Rehab into the crease, and then used Sin as my highlight. I used Sin to highlight my inner tear duct area, and lined my bottom lash line 2/3 of the way with Rehab. The pencils are a little big to line with, but it is possible.
I don’t think that I’ll be using Midnight Cowboy too much though-it is pretty sparkly and I think it’s best for
evenings. But Sin is just gorgeous I tell you!

These Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils are going to be great to travel with and also great for my less complicated makeup routine that I am trying to achieve.

The Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils come in some bright shades too like purple, turquoise, and pink-something for everyone.

I highly recommend trying Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Shadow Pencils!
