Instead of a blush, Lise Watier has included a bronzer duo in the Aquarella Spring 2012 Collection.

Bold move I say! and really smart too. Since the rest of the collection is all pastels, a blush would have been too much for the face to take. It would have been too Barbie and cotton candy looking. The bronzer really grounds everything.

The Lise Watier Aquarella Bronzing Duo ($32 CAN) contains a lighter goldy peachy shade and a bronzey shade when swirled together give a beautiful bronzey glow that shimmers- no sparkles thank goodness!

Blended together, the bronze, the peachy highlight

The Lise Watier Aquarella Bronzing Duo has a lovely texture to it and applies smoothly and blends beautifully onto the cheek. It warms up the cheek with a nice peachy glow and works so well with the rest of the pastels in the collection.

Now that I’ve shown you the collection,  I can show you a FOTD showcasing the products!

Sporting the Aquarella Collection

I’m wearing the Lise Watier Aquarella Eyshadow Quad, the Lise Watier Aquarella Spring Lips, and the Aquarella Bronzer. LOVE.

The Lise Watier Aquarella Spring 2012 Collection is a knock out for me. It got me wearing shades I NEVER wore before. It’s beautiful, wearable and just perfect for Spring.

The Lise Watier Aquarella Spring 2012 Collection should be hitting stores soon! Look out for it at your Shopper’s Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques, and of course online .
Sigh, is it Spring yet? It’s been so nice here in Alberta, but it never fails. As it comes closer to my birthday there’s ARCTIC WEATHER in the forecast. Just once I’d love it to be balmy for my birthday. That’s not too much to ask, right?

The Lise Watier Aquarella Spring 2012 Collection has three new lip products that I am head over heels in love with!

First, there’s a new Rouge Gourmand Lipstick in Guimauve ($19 CAN), which is a rosey mauve shade. Now I know there’s that word mauve, but it’s a warmer mauve that’s more wearable and will suit everyone. There is a new Waterproof Lip Crayon shade called Rose Mauve ($16 CAN), and a Limited Edition Gloss Aquarella in Rose ($20 CAN).

Together, these three products will create some SPRING MAGIC on your lips!

Lise Watier Rouge Gourmand Lipsticks are the #1 Lipstick in Canada for good reason. They are smooth, creamy, easy to apply, come in gorgeous shades and last a long time. There’s a slightly sweet taste to them, but it’s not overly obnoxious unless you are of course sensitive to that stuff.

You all know how much I adore the Waterproof Lip Crayons, as I have put them in my Zombie Apocalypse Makeup Bag. They are pigmented, smooth and help your lip colour last forever. This new Rose Mauve one is my new fave!

The Limited Edition Rose Aquarella Gloss is really moisturizing and not too sticky at all. There is some rosey glitter in there, but you can’t feel the glitter on your lips. It doesn’t really give a lot of colour, but just a nice little hint.

The Lise Watier Aquarella Spring 2012 Collection is fabulous when paired with the Aquarella Eye Palette, and I will show you a full face shot later so you can see the full effect! I promise!

The lip products are just perfect and add just enough colour to compliment the soft pastel eyeshadows in the Aquarella Eyeshadow Palette.

The Lise Watier Aquarella Spring 2012 Collection will hit stores and online  in mid January! Start checking soon!

The Lise Watier Aquarella Spring 2012 Collection contains two more products that will kick your pastels up just a notch to make it a BAZINGA Spring look! And that’s my kind of Spring!

The Coulleur Folle Mineral Loose Powder Eyeshadow Folie d’Iris ($18CAN) is the star in this collection for me.

All of Lise Watier Loose Mineral Powder Eyeshadows are amazing, but this new shade Folie d’Iris is unlike anything I own. It’s a gorgeous Blue Violet that is exactly the shade of an iris, which happens to be one of my favourite spring flowers ever!

Smooth and pigmented Foile d’Iris is a pleasure to use and adds such a beautiful unexpected pop of colour to the pastels in the Aquarella Eyeshadow Palette.

There’s also a new Waterproof Eyeliner in the shade Violet ($17CAN).

Lise Watier Waterproof Eyeliners are smooth, pigmented and stay put. Violet is a really great blue based purple that also goes really well with the other shades in the collection.

In this look, I put Foile d’Iris all over my lid. I then used the other shades in the Aquarella Eyeshadow Palette in the crease. The Violet Waterproof Pencil is what’s on my lower lash line.

Look how it just GLOWS

I think the Coulleur Folle Mineral Loose Powder Eyeshadow Folie d’Iris  is a spring must! It’s my favourite product in the collection I have to say.

The Lise Watier Aquarella Spring 2012 Collection will be hitting stores mid January so be on the lookout!

Sometimes, other beauty junkies  bloggers get me thinking.

I was talking with Michelle@Lipstick Rules on Twitter, who is one of my idols in the beauty blogging world. She’s level headed, has the same tastes as I do, is a mom like me, and is even a Capricorn too! I love her.

Well, we both admitted that we had broken down and ordered Urban Decay’s Naked 2-for different reasons though.

For her it was because of her love for Naked 1. I ordered it as a birthday gift to myself. My birthday is next week-January 18th! Plus I had to get it for the shade Pistol. My brother calls me Pistol- he says I shoot my mouth off all the time. 😛
That one eyeshadow makes that palette so worth it for me!

Different reasons, but same product purchased!

So I was wondering, what fuels your makeup purchases? I know it can be a lot of different things, but what is it most of the time? Wants? Or because you needs? Because of a review? Or a friend?

For me it’s definitely wants, as I really don’t ever need anything makeup related at this point. And it’s usually also because of a recommendation by a blogger friend, of which I have many and love them all-even though they are enablers haha!

And what is it about your birthday that makes you get all the stuff you’ve been dying for?
Do you do that too?

I’m going to be honest: I don’t care much for Spring Makeup Collections. There’s something about pastels I just don’t really care for. Pastel anything just ins’t me. My nickname in High School was Johnny Cash. I wore black all the time and since his nickname was The Man In Black-yeah, you get it.

Pastels are just not my thang.

Leave it to Lise Watier to change my mind COMPLETELY.

First, check out the gorgeous packaging of Lise Watier Aquarella!

Isn’t it just the prettiest? A work of art I say! Dang Lise Watier, whoever designs your palettes
should get a raise I say!

Today, let’s talk about the Aquarella Eyeshadow Quartet, which is $36 CAN.

When I first opened up the Lise Watier’s Aquarella Quartet my first thought was:

  I can’t wear this.

Swatching it didn’t help me either. I still was not confident I could pull this palette off.

I was befuddled. See that? I’m trying to use some new words and expand my vocabulary. 🙂

WRONG. Oh so wrong.

I didn’t know where to start to tell you the truth, because I never use colours like this in my looks. I kind of stood there for a bit. Then I said: Whaddaya, scared of? So, I just dove right in.

AND I COULDN’T STOP! The texture of these shadows is so cool! They’re half cream/half powder, so they practically blend by themselves I tell you.

Every combo I tried looked really pretty! So Springy! So Monet! And as you can see, the Aquarella Palette easily takes you from day to night.

Lise Watier has done it again I say! This palette is so very Spring 2012 and right on trend. I never thought I would enjoy a pastel palette, but I do. I really, really do. The girl in black likes pastels. And I think you all will too!

The Lise Watier Aquarella Spring 2012 wil be out mid January to brighten up your wintery days. Get it while you can, since it is limited edition. And stay tuned this week as I show you the rest of this Spring collection!

You can find Lise Watier at Shopper’s Drug Marts, and of course online at

Are you excited for Spring and all the pastels about to hit the stores?
