Cover your ears, because I’m tired of being PG.  😛

Me right now: TIRED. AS. FUCK. #TheTragicallyHip

If you don’t follow me on Instagram or SnappyChat…and hello WHY NOT…DO IT HEY…and to be honest I love Snap Chat MORE than Instagram…So, AHEM….you’d know that I’ve been BUSY. Lot’s of BUSY. We had to move Marky to an apartment for her third year of college in California. Let’s just say the house she lived in last year with 5 girls? FOUR OF THEM MOVED OUT. #crazyroomate And because me and Terry are nuts and like road trippin’, we decided to drive her back to California. And heck it was fun! And worth it! I think haha…although my brain is having trouble realizing I’m home finally because the first morning home I woke up to go pee at 6 am and thought: Where’s the stupid bathroom? And MY GOD, what a SHITTY HOTEL ROOM this is…  😀 😀 After all the cool hotel rooms I’ve been in I think I need to redecorate around here!

Ok, wanna see some pics? You got it! Comin’ up!

Montana was our first drive through:

 photo IMG_1102.jpg

That’s about all I have to say about Montana. WIDE. OPEN. SKIES. OH, and the speed limit is almost non-existent there…85 miles an hour which is DRIVE AS FAST AS YOU CAN in kilometres. #truth

Utah

Of course the first place we go to the night we hit Utah is a liquor store LOL. MAN, what a line-up! Never seen so many people wanting booze before. But we got a 50 cent piece as change! Cool!
 photo IMG_1122.jpg

SO, in the middle of downtown Salt Lake City is a HUMONGOUS square dedicated to all things historically Mormon. It’s…something.

 photo IMG_1114.jpg

Big main temple. Fucking HUGE.

 photo IMG_1116.jpg

Another church. I don’t know what it is man. But it looks POINTY. #howmanypointytowerscanwestickonthischurch #DeadliestChurchEverBuilt

 photo IMG_1121.jpg

Were the Osmands part of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir?

The massive pipe organ where the Mormon Tabernacle Choir sings, which is another church in the square. True story: they started a demo of the amazing acoustics there, and one girl started tearing a piece of paper in half. I turned to Terry and said: What is happening here…Is she doing a magic trick? 😀 😀  You can’t take me anywhere nice I tell ya’ 😀 😀 Oh, and plus there was a library, and numerous other huge buildings. Never seen so much downtown real estate taken up with church crap in my life. Oh, and STATUES….of Jesus…and the mormon dudes…and the moment Jesus told those sick dudes: HEY, You can have MANY WIVES…all the wives… and this all happened during the WILD WILD WEST of the USA too….like get BENT how can you believe this stuff?!!! #sorryifyouareMormon #waitmaybeNO #sorryNotSorry

But, to be honest we really liked Salt Lake City! It’s a pretty city, with loads to do. And there’s loads of hiking around there, and you know I love hiking. So, I think we’ll probably go back and spend more than 2 days there next time. Maybe even next summer.

Next stop was the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah which has been something I’ve wanted to see FOREVER. Pretty much ever since the movie Warlock came out and they buried that Witchcraft Bible book in there LOL!

 photo IMG_1166.jpg

SO WHITE. And HOT.

 photo IMG_1136.jpg

Marky made a saltball!

 photo IMG_1168.jpg

Salty!
 photo IMG_1318.jpg

Next stop, Santa Rosa, California where Charles Schultz lived and drew my fave comic of all time.

 photo IMG_1224.jpg

I almost cried walking up to the museum. Almost.

So much Snoopy!! LOVE.

 photo IMG_1174.jpg

 photo IMG_1188.jpg
I didn’t know this one tidbit:

 photo IMG_1189.jpg

I want this window in my living room!

 photo IMG_1213.jpg

I could show you SO MANY MORE PICS of Snoopy and The Peanuts Gang, but I’ll spare you haha. If you are a fan, I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area!

San Francisco:

 photo SAM_4058.jpg

It’s just one of my fave cities ever.

 photo SAM_4053.jpg

Haight and Ashbury is always a fun place! So many cool people with hair cooler than mine LOL! I tell ya, it was a huge love fest walking down the street with people telling us they loved our hair and with us telling them we loved THEIR hair LOL!

 photo IMG_1253.jpg

Japan Town…you have to eat there. You just have to.

 photo IMG_1232.jpg

We also stopped by the Walt Disney Family Museum in the Presidio and they had a Pinocchio Exhibit. To be honest, one of my LEAST fave Disney movies, but you gotta appreciate the art work. No pics were allowed so SHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhh don’t tell anybody I took this pic of the cossack puppet…I’m a descendant of Kozaks, so it’s my right….Right? HAHAHA!

 photo IMG_1260.jpg

Next stop was moving Marky’s stuff into her new apartment. Putting her bed back together. Shopping for more things she needed. Ikea in Burbank? IS HELL ON EARTH. So much work. And I hate Ikea Burbank. #worstIkeaEver

But all that work was rewarded with a trip to Disneyland of course!

 photo IMG_1285.jpg

That’s the old front entrance sign which is now a decoration at the Disneyland Hotel Pool HAHA

And a trip to the Santa Monica Pier!

 photo IMG_1310.jpg

LOADS of tourists here my god

And then it was time to say goodbye to Marky. It was HARDER this time you guys I don’t know…last year it wasn’t so bad. But this year? UGGGH. I don’t know, as she gets older she gets more sentimental herself I think? So she cries…and then then I cry…and yeah…sob scene. And we left the apartment. And then texted her to come for lunch LOL. And then we had to say goodbye AGAIN. I’m a glutton for punishment, what can I say. I just had a hard time leaving her this time.

Drive back home was nice though. We stopped in Seattle which is another one of my fave cities.

 photo IMG_1373.jpg

Seattle Pike’s Place Market AKA EAT ALL THE FOODS

 photo IMG_1362.jpg
 photo IMG_1517.jpg

Then, home. And you realize she’s really not that far when it only takes 3 days to drive back home to those amazing Alberta sunsets. But I still miss her.

 photo IMG_1575.jpg

What did I buy on the 3 weeks away? Not much to be honest?!! More food things and snacks since we were driving and could take stuff like that home easily. Arrowhead makes this sparking water that’s watermelon flavoured and I LOVE IT and of course it’s not sold here. So I brought a few over the border.  😀  But these oils are one of my fave beauty buys ever!

Shea Moisture Pure Oils

Shea Moisture.jpg

Shea Moisture

They’re little bottles of pure oils by Shea Moisture and you can get them at Target(I MISS YOU TARGET) and WOW SO GOOD. Just a few drops added to my hair conditioner, hair masque, body lotion, DRY hair even- and instant fix! LOVE them all Shea Moisture! And only $9.99 each! I do hate the pumps though as they don’t work well, and be forewarned that the Monoi one will solidify if it’s cold in your house when you get back from a 3 week road trip. #yayforcold

And that’s why I haven’t been around for the last…OMG it’s been 4 weeks hasn’t it???!!!

It has. OOPS. Yeah, well I ain’t apologizing to any PR for anything. I’m back! And I’ll get to posting about stuff again I promise as I am rejuvenated and ready to blog…maybe… 😛

I’ve missed everyone! I hope you are all still there HAHAHA! And still around to talk to!

It’s Easter! So Happy Easter! And I need some easy writing prompts to help get me back into the blogging life, so this seemed like a fun one to do. I hope you think it’s fun too! And by all means if you blog as well please do it! I love learning more about my fave bloggers!

50 Things That Make Me Happy

1. Laughing

It’s really the best medicine around I swear. I don’t take life and myself all too seriously, so laughing comes easy to me. And learning to be able to laugh at yourself is the best gift you can give yourself. Especially as you get older!

2. Winter

IMG_6198

I hate summer as you all know. I live for the cold. If my nose ain’t feeling cold I’m just not happy. 😛 I’m just hoping it’s not going to be too hot of a summer this year.

3. Music

I listen to music all the time! I love all genres, even some country LOL. Nothing is off limits to me when it comes to music. It’s one of the reasons I love Zumba too-it’s all about the music for me. And I’m so happy to finally have a piano again and be able to play!

4. Road Trips

I love road trips in the car. Maybe it’s because Terry doesn’t let me drive though HAHA. I get to sit, and look, and just THINK. About nothing. About the cows I see. The grass. It’s kind of therapeutic for me, to not have to think about much. I’m a real worrier, but when I’m a passenger in a car, listening to music and looking at the scenery -it’s just mindless beauty- my brain relaxes and quiets up.

5. The mountains

IMG_7287

I LOVE seeing the Rocky Mountains. They’re just SO big…and makes me feel so small…and that’s just so awesome. Realizing that I’m just this small speck of a thing in some grander, bigger picture… makes me wonder about everything. If you can’t tell, I’ve been wondering  about a lot of things as I’ve aged. I like it.

6. Disneyland

IMG_4228

My second home? Or wannabe home? I don’t know what it is, but I just like BEING there. Just being in that kid-filled joyous atmosphere makes me SMILE from ear to ear all day long. I need to go back! I can feel that itch coming on!

7. Scented Candles

I love them. Scent is a huge memory trigger for me. BUT…I won’t burn candles when I’m alone. Phobia of mine. My older brother had a friend that died in a house fire because of a candle, so yeah…I fear I’ll forget to blow the damn ocean scent out before going to bed and that would be the last thing I’ve ever smelled. Which meh…ain’t so bad I guess really….#whatawaytogo

8. Online Shopping

More and more I shop online these days. Going to stores and waiting in line is just a big HATE for me now.

9. Rainy days

I. LOVE. RAIN. I know, I’m a freak. I don’t care if I see the sun for days. I prefer not to see it to be honest. I could easily live in a rainy climate for the rest of my days. #whoneedsSunglassesRIGHT

10. Making Soup

My dad was the KING of soup making. He could make the tastiest soups with whatever leftovers he had in his fridge. It’s an art that not many people can live up to. I try to emulate his soupy awesomeness, but I don’t think I’m even close to it to be honest. September 7 marked 4 years since he passed away from Alzheimer’s. I miss him. And his soup.

11. Zumba Baby

I love Zumba. I love dancing. #onceadanceralwaysadancer Although, it’s getting harder for me to get to good Zumba classes. So, I’ve been spinning lately and LOVE it. But I haven’t been to the gym in 2 weeks because of being sick, so kinda’ dreading that first day back. 🙁

12. Truffle Salt

 photo IMG_7731.jpg

I’d brush my teeth with truffle salt if I could-someone needs to add Truffle Salt flavouring to toothpaste HA! If they did I swear there’d be no more cavities people. I brought home a truffle mustard from Trader Joe’s when we were in California in January  and am hoarding it at the moment because it’s SO. GOOD.

13.  A good piece of chocolate melting in my mouth

I love chocolate a lot, but it’s more of a sensory experience for me lately. The whole melting in my mouth feeling is so YES. And that’s why I can stop at just one piece and not eat twenty, unlike some people I know.

14. Baking bread

There’s nothing like kneading dough and baking your own bread. Try it!

15. Bacon

The crispier, the better. Even though it’s a deliciousness of cancer causing stuff now. WHY. #screwyoucancer

16. Snoopy T-shirts

I have SO MANY. It’s seriously not normal for an almost 49 year old woman to have so many Snoopy Tees. Do I care? NOPE. #nevergrowingup

17. Monty Python

My older brother BOB introduced me to them, and I’ve been laughing ever since. Even went to see the movie theatre live streamed reunion last year. HUGE fan.

18. Wearing Pyjamas all day long

No explanation needed.

19. A fresh tube of lipstick
 photo IMG_7563.jpg

Nothing like that first swipe on your lips, right?

20. Musicals

I think my fave is the classic Singing In the Rain, although I love ALL of them. Rent is another huge fave. The only one I can’t really stand is Les Mis-SORRY….it’s just SO long and Uggh boring….I can’t take it.

21. Burnt roasted marshmallows

Make them catch fire and YUMMM is your reward!

22. Learning New Things.

I love learning. Always have. I was one of those annoying kids that just LOVED school.

23. Water

I love water and drink probably 8 litres a day easy. I have a Soda Stream so I can carbonate it too. I like bubbles in my water. I actually have a fear of being without water too-when we leave the house I carry a bottle in my purse, and always two more(at least) for the car. When we travel it’s the first thing I make sure we get. WATER.

24. Fresh raspberries and ice cream

My in-laws used to have fresh raspberries growing in their backyard, and it’s the best dessert ever to just throw some fresh, ripe raspberries on vanilla ice cream. It’s my fave summer dessert ever. Only thing I can honestly say I like about summer hahaha!

25. Cartoons

Yeah, I still watch cartoons! My daughter is going to be an animator, so DUH! I love cartoons. And BOY do I miss Phineas and Ferb! One of my daughter’s friends has a show coming up called The Loud House and it looks so GOOD, like Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends(my all time fave cartoon) but people version:

26. T-shirts

I hate blouses? And shirts, even though I have a few flannel shirts. Hey, I’m Canadian, and them I can sort of stand.  😀   But, I don’t really like the way shirts feel on my skin with the buttons and collars…EW. I live in tees.

27. Waffles

They rock. I don’t know for some reason I avoid making them, and then when I make them I always say: That wasn’t so bad? And it’s not? But then I don’t make them again for months.

28. Having something to say

No matter who you are, or what you do-we all have something to say. So say it loud and say it proud! It’s important to let your voice be heard. And not let anything COMPROMISE your voice. I’m not letting anything do that to me, ever again. I have something to say! And damn it, Imma’ gonna SAY IT.

29. Apocalyptic movies and books

I have a sick infatuation with how the world will end. It bothers my family a bit for some reason. I don’t know why? I’m not scared of dying I guess, and that’s a frightening thing for them to understand. I like watching end of the world movies, analyzing them, taking notes… on maybe ways to help others survive. But to be honest? When it does happen? I plan to toast the end of the world with a good bottle of Shiraz and smile. Unless it Zombies. Then I plan to keep on living and use my archery skills and kill as many as I can. 😛

30. Boots

I love boots. And thank goodness I live where I can were them for pretty much 6 months of the year, if not longer. I see people wearing boots in LA in September when it’s still 35C there, and I think DUDE YOUR FEET MUST BE SWEATING LIKE CRAZY. I hate sweaty feet and mine are pretty sweaty. #TMI I know

31. NHL Hockey Season

I love watching hockey. All other sports are boring in comparison. Sorry. Hate football. Don’t get it at all it’s so SLOW. My brain can’t take slow sports. LIKE MOVE IT MAN.

32. Sunsets
 photo IMG_6697.jpg

I love seeing the colours…it’s an amazing sight and will never tire of it.

33. Hugs

I hug all the time! One of my fave hugs is the one I give to one of my Zumba Instructors-she’s under 5 feet and weighs like 80 pounds-she jumps up and I catch her and lift her up! It’s our hug thing and everyone laughs when they see it, cause it’s the most awesome hug you’ll ever witness  😀

34. Pride & Prejudice Kiera Knightley version

DUDES. I could watch this movie 24/7 I swear. So could Marky I think, since she’s just written her 5th essay in Film History about it hahaha. Seriously she’s written so many about that movie-from art direction to lighting-it’s just got so much GOOD stuff going. And don’t even get me started on the soundtrack it’s my JAM.

35. 80s movies

Sometimes you just need to remember the good, ya’ know what I mean? When teen movies weren’t all about ya’ know. Teens care about other shit too hey?

36. Disney Villains

 photo IMG_7730.jpg

Screw the princesses they are lame most of the time…give me a good villain any day! Like Hades in Hercules…or my personal favourite: Yzma in Emperor’s New Groove. And yes, this is hanging in my family room.

37. A good polka

Here’s a great modern version for ya’-Ukrainian SKA!

38.  The song Happy Together by the Turtles

My brother Mark and I used to sing Happy Together all the time. Such a great song.

39. Warm chocoalte pudding

Like homemade stuff in a pot, on the stove all warm and OH SO YUMMY!

40. Long walks

One thing I miss in winter is being able to go for a long walk. It’s not entirely impossible, you just have to dress for it is all-but it’s a lot of work. Call me provincial, but I much prefer walking when there’s no snow and ice on the ground.

41. Chocolate covered strawberries

YUMmmmmm cover all my fruit in chocolate and I’d eat it every night! My hubby will buy them for me whenever he sees them too…he’s the best.

42. My hubby’s dimples

They are adorable!

43. Garlic

I stink of garlic most days I think because I pretty much double the garlic in any recipe hahaha! My parents used to slice raw garlic and put it on top of buttered bread when they felt sick. I haven’t done that. YET. #givemeafewyears

44. Supertramp

It makes me REALLY sad that every band member hates each other now. I friggin’ love every song by them.

45. Buttercream icing that is SMOOTH and not gritty

When it’s done right, it’s RIGHT. Right?

46. Crispy, crispy toast

I like my toast crispy like “shards of ice” as Marky says. Otherwise, it’s just warm bread. I need CRUNCH.

47. A good glass of SHIRAZ... my blogging wine of choice hahaha!
 photo IMG_7733.jpg

48. Marky’s Art

I mean, I’m a proud Mama Bear! Here’s her work if you’re interested: http://markyszram.blogspot.ca

49. Being Alone
Truth be told, I am an introvert. A rare one too? I took a personality test on behest of my daughter and apparently I’m the rarest kind of introvert,t although I can’t remember what it was called haha. I really don’t mind being alone, and kind of relish it to be honest. After being out in the world, which can even mean just a Zumba class, I need to recharge and be alone. It’s actually a good thing that my hubby travels a lot for work, because I don’t mind the alone time when he is gone-I look forward to it!

#50. Writing

That’s one of the reasons I blog. I love to write. I do. I am by no means an eloquent writer that’s for damn sure. My written word is pretty much exactly how I speak in person…this blog then?Is like chatting with me. And I want to keep it that way. As I love chatting with all of you!

Tag DONE! And I hope some of you do it as well! Otherwise, tell me in the comments some of your fave things about you!

Yeah, so wow I’ve been gone for awhile, hey? After New Year’s we went back to California to take Marky to Disneyland before she started her second semester of college. Even though she lives about 1.5 hours away from The Happiest Place On Earth, believe it or not she rarely gets to go-she just doesn’t have the time. And since this semester will be even busier for her since she’ll be working on her second year film, we thought we’d give her a little happy happy joy joy before school started.

It rained pretty much every day we were at Disneyland this time though! And not just a little drizzle, we’re talking WOW it’s POURING rain! And that was ok with us since California desperately needs it.

But, boy all that rain sure made Disneyland rather spooky looking!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Disneyland

All these crows descended on the park one afternoon during a rain break-at least a couple of hundred I’d say. Disneyland was still in Christmas/Holiday mode, but it sure felt like Halloween when that happened!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Disneyland

My first Moscow Mule ever! It was raining so hard on Wednesday that we decided to duck into the Paradise Cove Bar for a drink and some Lobster Nachos for a rain break. I wasn’t fast enough to take a pic of the nachos as they got demolished pretty quickly! We even ordered a second order they were that good!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Disneyland

Even though it was raining, we had a really nice time together as a family at Disneyland. In fact, Christmas was pretty cozy and amazing as well. Marky seems so much more grown-up this year, and more relaxed and confident. She even cut her hair shorter to just above her shoulder! Surprised me because her massive long red hair was her signature, but like I said, she’s really changed and had grown tired of the upkeep. I love her hair shorter! She looks more…professional! And part of me wants to cut all of mine off again now since I am growing tired of it as well. We shall see! It’s been almost a year since I’ve been to my hair salon YIKES, so it’s time for a trim at least!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

My Makeup These Days

The makeup I took with me was pretty minimal. My makeup routine is pretty minimal these days anyways. I love the Algenist Repairing Tint & Radiance Moisturizer SPF30 for travel since it has some sunscreen in it. It’s light in coverage, but makes skin look brighter and better and has a nice glow without feeling heavy or tacky at all. I always set my makeup with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light, so that came with me. I really hate heavy under-eye concealers, so lately I only use a bit of Giorgio Armani Correcting Concealer #2 over the dark spots under my eyes. It brightens them up and is so thin that it’s pretty undetectable and I never have to worry about creasing. I don’t get all the heavy under eye concealing that’s the trend these days?! It’s scares me! And then they bake all that concealer with powder so it doesn’t crease?!! WHY. How about not put on so much dang concealer and then it won’t crease on you?!! Newsflash: Not having any shadow or a bit of colour under your eyes looks WEIRD and unnatural-like a doll-we are real people and that’s how we’re supposed to look. Ok, Tracy mini-rant over now 😛   The Clinique Just Browsing Brush-On Styling Mousse is easy for brows, and I like easy. Benefit They’re Real Mascara isn’t my fave, but it stays put without budging so it’s my mascara of choice for travelling. And since I’m still a blush fiend, I like wearing Stila Convertible Color in Gerbera and layering Tom Ford Blush in Frantic Pink so that my blush lasts all day long. To be honest though, on the days it was pouring rain I didn’t wear ANY makeup because why waste my time.

The sun did come out for a bit and what’s better than pretty sunsets and palm trees!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peekjpg

California

Maybe yummy burgers from Umami Burgers in Pasadena are haha!

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Umami Burger

We came home this past Sunday night, but I knew something was wrong on the taxi ride home from the airport. I wasn’t feeling right at all. I’m so lucky the vomiting and diarrhea didn’t start earlier on the plane because WOW what a nightmare that would have been. Yup, I got food poisoning either in the Air Canada lounge, or from the Air Canada Business Class meal-WHY. ME. I’ve been sick ever since and today is the first day I feel normal. Still sore all over, but at least I can walk and function like a human now. I’m itching for a Zumba class, but I don’t think I should go until the aches are gone.

But this amazing package from Tatcha Beauty came the other day and boy it perked up my day for sure! Here’s my little Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek:

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek

It’s only been two days of using the products, but it’s pretty much LOVE I can tell you. Food poisoning sucked every bit of moisture outta my body, and I swear my new Tatcha regimen fixed that in one use, especially THIS:

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist-Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek

If you have dry skin, just GET IT. Tatcha Beauty Luminous Dewey Mist is AMAZING and yeah I’m addicted in just two days now. I’ll get into more detail about ingredients and stuff once I finish testing everything out and post my review, but for me this one is a must have in the line and I can see why everyone loves it!

I bought a new cookbook! On my Kindle though-I hate actual cook books these days. I’d rather look at a recipe on my iPAD now.

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

I saw it at Chapter’s Indigo today and it looked really good! And since having food poisoning kickstarted my New Year’s Diet anyways, I thought I’d continue the detox-just in a yummier way LOL.

Although DUDES, this was the cheapest price I could find for a head of cauliflower today:

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

HOLY

HOLY. WOW. Guess broccoli is it from now on, hey? Let’s hope the El Niño rain hitting California helps out the drought so that things like cauliflower can start to grow abundantly again.

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

Good ‘Ol Edmonton Sunset I’ve missed you!

And that’s pretty much why I haven’t been around! I apologize for not posting, but we were having such a good time and it was nice to not worry about blogging for once. I’ll get back into some kind of schedule in a couple of days now that I’m home and able to keep food down 😛 Also, I need to give my new buddy some love:

Tatcha Beauty Sneak Peek.jpg

New Camera! Samsung NX 300M

I bought this Samsung NX 300M Camera before the New Year but haven’t had time to play with it yet, so I plan on getting better acquainted with it this weekend!

How are you all! Feels like I haven’t talked to you in ages! Hope you are doing well and having a great January so far! What’s new? What have I missed? What fun have you been up to?

HEY! How you DOIN’?

I know, I’ve been awful at posting lately. But as you know, I’ve been BUSY MONSTERrrr(that’s a French accent typed there in case you didn’t know). Warning for all you MOMS out there: BE PREPARED FOR WHEN THEY FINALLY MOVE OUT…It’ll STILL COST YOU $$$$$$$. You think they’re gone and stuff, but then NOPE they PULL you back in, and you’re buying bedroom furniture and putting it together in 106F heat. What is that? WHO can live in that kind of heat I ask you? Not me. Or my hubby. Usually I enjoy our little trips to California, but this time? I was BEGGING to come home to Canada.

I should have taken pics of Marky’s final bedroom look, but PFFFT…I just wanted to get outta there as fast as possible to be honest-before it cost me any MORE monies! And I wanted to start our actual little REAL holiday!

Disneyland .jpg

Disneyland Hotel

We’ve been going to Disneyland for over a decade, but we’ve never actually stayed at the Disneyland Hotel. So, since this September 29, 2015 will be our 25th Wedding Anniversary, we decided to finally spend the stupid amount of $$$ on ourselves and stay there. We did get 20% off the rates, since I’m an annual pass holder so YAY for that!

And you know what? It was WORTH IT. Even with our failing dollar, it was amazing to be so close to the parks, and have such comfy beds!

Disneyland .jpg

Disneyland Hotel Toiletries

And the H2O Plus toiletries made the stay even sweeter! I love their products, so it was kinda’ nice to find them here at the hotel! I may have brought them all home though, to use at a later date… #beautyhorderextrodinaire

No lack of detail was overlooked in the rooms at Disneyland though, I mean look at the bathroom sconces:

Disneyland .jpg

Disneyland Hotel Bathroom Sconces

Our first meal is usually this flat iron steak with chimmichurra sauce and garlic frites at the UVA Bar at Downtown Disney. It’s always done perfectly to your liking! And never grisly or awful. My fave steak at the resort for sure! And the garlic fries are SO GOOD. They’re garlicky enough to satisfy this Ukrainian!

Disneyland .jpg

Disneyland Uva Bar

They had these spicy tomato popsicles to put in beers too, so Terry had one.
 photo IMG_9931.jpg

It was good! But all the spicy ends up at the and of your popsicle melt so beware! Spicy beer alert!

 photo IMG_9952.jpg

The Haunted Mansion is my second fave ride at the park after Big Thunder Mountain, so to say I was disappointed that it was closed down was an understatement. They’re prepping it for the Halloween Nightmare Before Christmas dress starting Sept.12. WHY SO EARLY GODDAMMIT. Seriously. Why don’t we just start Halloween season August 1st already? CRIPES. So, yeah anyways…it just means I have to go back sooner, right? RIGHT. I almost bought that purse btw…but I came to my senses after I realized it was almost $300 US, which is what???!! Like a MILLION CANADIAN NOW. Fuck you Harper. You’ve ruined our economy you rat commie bastard. DON’T talk to me if you’re voting them back in.

I wore NO MAKEUP on most of my trip. Because WHY. HOT. This is what I wore:

 photo IMG_9955.jpg

That Coola Liplux Lip Balm SPF30 is great! I really liked it and applied it liberally. Lips felt smooth, soft and protected all the time! Win! The Bioderma Hydrabio Eau de Soin Moisturizing Anti-UV Mist was my other companion, thanks to the lovely Melissa from @KissandMakeupBeautyBlog! She so kindly sent me this and I’m forever grateful! It’s amazing. It’s basically like water, yet a really effective sunscreen. And you can reapply OVER makeup too! I wasn’t wearing any makeup on this trip, but I have tried it and works SO WELL over makeup and makes an amazing setting spray. Plus you can reapply at your will with no worries of makeup getting ruined. It’s like a dream come true! Although, if your’e planning to go to a rave, or to Disneyland where there’s a lot of black light on rides, you may encounter THIS problem:

 photo IMG_9999.jpg

Stuff GLOWS under black light hahaha! My hubby said I looked like the Mummy! It was weird for sure! But at least I had proof that the sunscreen was working hahaha!

Mint Juleps are a daily must at Disneyland. Keeps you going.

 photo IMG_0024.jpg

Now, I’ve been on the Tower Of Terror ride ONCE. When it first opened. And that was enough for me. I actually bruised Marky’s arm while trying to save myself from DYING on it hahahaha.

 photo IMG_0034.jpg

But I ALMOST made it back on again this trip. After getting some Instagram love to grow a pair and just do it, I walked up to the gates with every intention of going on the damn ride…but the park was CLOSED..at 7:30!!!! WHY. ARRGH…

So, I had a beer instead. 😛 Celebrated my PANSY ASS hahaha. Next time though I shall DEFEAT YOU TOWER OF DEATH. PROMISE.

 photo IMG_0031.jpg
Isn’t that the most CANADIAN beer label you’ve ever seen? Yeah, it wasn’t one of ours though! But it was good!

This thing of beauty is the Rocky Road Sunday at the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop in California Adventure Park.

A little too much whipped cream for us-I pushed most of it off. There’s a time and place for whipped cream people.  🙂 And on most sweets I don’t care for it that much. Just give me the goods I say, and keep the fluff.  😛  This was our lunch that day – I mean it has dairy, protein, carbs-what else do you need, right? 😀

Ok Tracy, but tell us what you actually BOUGHT beauty-wise? Well to be honest loves? Not a whole lot this time. I bought this set of Clinique lipsticks at the Duty Free @LAX:

And this is the other stuff that I bought:

Yup. That’s about it. Not that much at all-at least for me. With the dollar being so low, it was hard to justify buying all that much.

DOVE

The Dove Quench Absolute Conditioner for Naturally Curly Hair is AMAZE. It works so well at keeping my hair frizz free and soft. I don’t get WHY it’s not sold here in Caanda??!!I always pick one up on my trip and savour it until the last drop. Oh, and it smells SO GOOD too… like a perfumed, spicy heady vanilla that’s OH so nice. I like Dove hair stuffs. So c’mon Dove, get this stuff sold up north here, EH?

AND YES I caved and picked up my first ever Tatcha product:

 photo IMG_0075.jpg

I tell you this: I HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS YA’LL. Everyone and their frickin’ dog has hyped this cleanser up to be the BE ALL END ALL…so…it better deliver. I better be hearing THIS SONG when I use it:

That is my Beauty Holy Grail song btw, in case you didn’t know, and it’s called Liz On Top Of the World from the Pride and Prejudice Movie Soundtrack starring Kiera Knightley. You’ll find me watching that movie when I’m alone and have nothing else to do. I adore the soundtrack, it’s one of my faves forever.
So yeah, if that cleanser doesn’t change my world…BE PREPARED FOR THAT REVIEW.

I’m pretty damn excited about the sample pack of L’Artisan Parfumeurs Scents I picked up.

These are the scents in the pack:

I’ve been kind of bored with my usuals, so I’m looking forward to discovering something that smells awesome for fall!

Oh, and can I tell you how HAPPY I was to come home to this:

 photo IMG_0062.jpg
Not many people enjoy a 30 degree temperature difference that goes towards the negative, but I sure do! Jacket weather is BACK! HALLELUJAH! After the last week and a bit in California, I think I can safely say NO MORE SUMMER PLEASE! 😛

There’s my trip! It was a lot of hard work, yet fun at the same time. And it wasn’t that hard to leave Marky this time as it was last year, go figure. I guess I’m finally used to my empty nest. Is that bad? Sad? I don’t really know. But maybe it’s just a realization that it’s TIME. Time to separate and move on. My job is pretty much done. She’s all good. And that? Makes me quite happy. And PROUD too. 😀

I’ve missed you all! I hope to get back to a regular posting schedule, but to be honest there’s less and less stuff showing up at my doorstep these days to review. While I was gone there was NOTHING delivered, and that’s a first. I’ve been saying NO to a lot of stuff lately. I’m getting tired. I don’t have time or the WANT to do idiotic reviews of stupid stuffs.

I want to write about what I want to write.  So, it may mean less posts, but more meaningful ones in the end. I hope that’s OK with you all! If not-well, hey..life is short and you need to find a beauty blog that fits you and your needs. If it’s not Beauty Refelctions, then godspeed dudes. Those of you that stick with me-you’re sick, like me. And I like that, so WAHOOOO…let’s have some real FUN now, hey? I really want to reduce my makeup stash like  Liz@BeautyReductionista has been doing. So, maybe I’ll start taking you through that process, I don’t know?! Let me know what you’d like to see on here! More snark? More life stuff? More reviews? I aim to please!

HEYYyyyyy How ya DOIN’? I know, I’ve been a bad blogger. But you see, I was in California all last week and just didn’t have the time, or the will to blog! So forgive me! But I’m here to to share my trip and some other stuffs too!

Before I left, I decided to clean out my computer room-a bit HAHA. I found this, but didn’t have the heart to throw it out!

 photo IMG_4494.jpg

GAWWWWD. I miss those days! The whole waiting for the delivery! And sitting all day and all night reading until you finished the book! Sigh… I miss it SO MUCH.

 photo IMG_4484.jpg

I got some new Nikes again haha! I love Zumba! And I needed another pair to rotate with the other ones I got. And man, runners(not SNEAKERS LOL) are so bright and happy now! If I wore a colour like these in the early 80s, it would have been social suicide dudes. Thank the lord you don’t have to deal with THAT.

 photo IMG_4496.jpg

Yup. I hit VIB Rouge with Sephora….which isn’t hard when you buy for two people. I buy things for Marky too, and mostly we buy skincare to be honest. And I don’t know if you’ve noticed but most skincare items are starting to cost about $100 each easy so…yeah. It’s not hard to get VIB Rouge if you are like me. I’ll say this…I LOVE the Le Marc Le Rouge Lipsticks…more on that in another post!

 photo IMG_4501.jpg

I got the most AMAZING gift from my Aveeno friends: the NEW Daily Moisturizing Lotion Sheer Hydration Lotion which is AMAZING. It feels so GOOD. SO LIGHT. And they sent me a gift certificate to Bliss Spas! You know, as a Beauty Blogger I’ve NEVER had a pedicure. Like ever. It scares me haha! But I’m thinking of getting a facial! Or maybe some yoga! Not sure yet! But I’m excited and grateful nonetheless.

Before we left for California, Marky’s College CalARTS had their Portfolio Day, where students showcase their work and companies come to the school to look and see and hire and offer internships! It’s pretty cool!

Disney Features and Dreamworks Products were very interested in Marky’s work and called her back to talk to her! And since then she’s also had emails from Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network to apply for internships! SO excited for her! Although, that means she won’t come home this summer. 🙁  But hey, such is life…it’s all good! And I’m so PROUD of her.

 photo IMG_4632.jpg
She gave me her Beymax Pin Disney Features gave her–I will treasure it FOREVER. It represents everything I hoped would happened for her-proof she’s doing well at college and proof that someday, Marky will be a force to be reckoned with in the Animation world!

Then it was time for us to leave for California to visit my Marky!

 photo IMG_4523.jpg

This Dermalogica Climate Control Lip Treatment was awesome on the plane ride. Kept my lips comfy and hydrated the whole trip!

 photo IMG_4531.jpg

Found some Laneige skincare at Target WTF. See, this is one of many reasons they failed in Canada! Why wasn’t this brand sold here? This Sleep Mask is pretty awesome! Glad to have found it! I don’t notice the comforting scent it apparently has, but it works really well!

 photo IMG_4535.jpg

I love California. And all the fresh produce. The hotel we stay at when visiting Marky is a Marriot Residence Inn, and the staff remembers us-heck I give them HUGS now lol! And so, we get a special bowl of fresh berries when we come down…I’m telling you…HUGS is money. Hugs will get you all kinds of love! HUG more often. You’ll thank me!

Friday Chat: California, Disneyland and Marc Jacobs Oh My

Every morning, these guys cross your path in California…we don’t see many of them in dry Alberta. They fascinate me…like wow. So cool…but I like worms too so…sorry haha. I should have studied Entomology or Biology more at University instead of Chemistry methinks….  😛

Bobbi Brown Peachy purchases

I’m kinda’ having a Bobbi Brown Moment for some reason! I never really got into the brand, but lately as I’ve gotten older, the brand is starting to appeal to me for some strange reason. I picked up a few peachy items in California, and so far I’m loving them! Especially the Pastel Peach Powder Blush-it looks so pale in the pan, but WOW pigmentation! And it glows too! Blush Fiend LOVE.

Disneyland California

DISNEYLAND. You know I had to visit! These orange flowers on some of the trees there were so pretty! I wish they’d grow here! WHAT ARE THEY!!!

Disneyland Treats

The desserts OH MY. Like WHY.

BEYMAX APPLES. Sorry, too cute to eat for me!

This Rose Raspberry Mickey Macaron was so GOOD. You could taste the rose, and the raspberries were so FRESH. YUMMM.
It’s a good thing we walked an average of almost 30K steps  every day at Disneyland!

 photo IMG_4567.png

And that’s just counting when I had my phone in my hand or pocket. Dumb Apple. The app only counts steps that way. I’m pretty sure we logged well over 30K the days we were at the park…my body could FEEL it…getting out of bed was an experience I’ll tell ya! SO hard… like I was hit by a truck or something. But once I got going all was well!

 photo IMG_4550.jpg

Oh HEY… you know the tequilas they sell in California Adventure Park sure help with any kind of pain you’re dealing with dude…that’s why they sell them there I’m positive…liquid MEDICATION. And they ain’t watered down at all nosiree…you can taste tequila for sure!

 photo IMG_4561.jpg

There’s some cool Maleficent art at the parks still, even though the movie came out quite awhile ago…I’m late to the party, but MAN…I really love the movie a lot! I think it was a great live version movie of the cartoon! Kinda’ obsessed with the makeup looks in it, which is why I bought that Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Fresh Watermelon because that’s what the makeup artist used to get that amazing peach flush on Aurora’s cheeks! I’ve heard the Cinderella movie is really good too! Excited to see it now for sure! Might even go see it at theatre for once lol!

Phew! I think that’s enough haha! Loads of pics and thoughts! It’s hard to get back in the blogging groove when you’ve been gone on holidays! Posts like this help me get the blogging mojo back. I have loads of stuff to show you in upcoming posts so stay tuned!

And Bobbi Brown! It’s kinda of amazing me at the moment! Have you suddenly been intrigued by a brand you’ve ignored?
