When MAC Petticoat Mineralize Skinfinish was re-released with the In The Groove Collection, I was pretty sure that I already had it somewhere in my makeup stash. The problem: I couldn’t find it. So I ordered another one.

Of course when my MAC ordered arrived, I found my original MAC Petticoat at the bottom of my drawer. When I opened it, it looked a little different from the new one. Take a look:

On the left is the new MAC Petticoat MSF and on the right is the old one.
They really changed the veining on the new one! More fine veins of the darker burgundy colour are in the new one. But does it look different when swatched?
The swatch on the left is the old MAC Petticoat MSF, while the right swatch is the new one. The old one is a tad darker than the new one. And to tell you the truth, it felt smoother when I swatched it too-it just glided a bit better than the new Petticoat.

Both versions are great, but the old one is just a tiny bit better. Which makes me wonder if the same goes for the Infamous Stereo Rose MSF? I wonder it the original was just a tad bit better too? I sure wish I had on original for comparison. Although I love my Stereo Rose so much I can’t imagine it being any better than it already is. But was it?

MAC So Ceylon was a Limited Edition MSF, but you can still find them at CCOs if you’re lucky.

It’s a great true bronze colour-not too much shimmer. It can be used as a blush too. On my skin, MAC SO Ceylon isn’t orange at all.

MAC So Ceylon gives a nice natural glow and warms up your face.

So Ceylon is a great MSF by MAC and well worth the purchase!

I’m really particular about fragrance. I like my perfumes to smell different, and to me a lot of the mass market scents all smell the same after awhile. Nothing is really unique. I think perfume creators take one note from a popular fragrance and just tweek it a bit and they think they’ve created something new.

Santa Barbara Eau de Parfum by Leslie Blodgett smelled different to me. It’s a very clean and warm scent that reminds me of California-really laid back. It’s a great every day perfume.
The top notes are a subtle bit of fruit and pepper, while the middle notes are soft white flowers and the bottom notes are musky.

It’s a very breezy, summer scent and even as the scent fades it still manages to stay with you.

Perfumes are a very personal choice, but the next time you’re in Sephora ask for a sample of Santa Barbara Eau de Parfum by Leslie Blodgett and give it a try.

I am soooooo in love with my Urban Decay Naked Palette! It has 12 eyeshadows and the colours are awesome-mostly neutral browns and golds and coppers and some dark greys.

The Urban Decay Naked Palette has 5 new shades included. There are two matte shadows, which is a great plus-you need matte shadows to keep your look grounded in my opinion. This also makes it much easier to do an office appropriate look. The shadows are pigmented and blend beautifully.

Swatched colours from left to right are:

Gunmetal, Creep, Hustle, Toasted, Darkhorse, Smog, Half Baked, Buck, Sidecar, Naked, Sin, Virgin

You also get a sample size of their primer potion and a special double ended 24/7 Eye Pencil in Zero(black) and Whiskey (warm brown).

The Urban Decay Naked Palette is hands down the best palette to come out this year. I hope you can get your hands on one. I’m hearing rumours that this will become permanent in their line. I sure hope so!

Well, it’s almost time for me to go back to work. I love the whole “Back to School” idea even though I’m 42 (cringe). To me it’s more of a fresh start/goal setting time of year than January 1st is. This year I’ve decided to stop procrastinating on a quite a few ideas and things I’ve wanted to do for a long time now, and they are:

  1. Start this blog. I’m a makeup junkie and I want to share my opinions on the multitude of beauty items that I buy, use, like, hate.
  2. Finish writing my book.
  3. Get back in shape.
  4. Learn to speak French-something I’ve always wanted to do.
  5. Be happier! Doing these things that I’ve been putting off I’m sure will help accomplish this one.

These are the things that I will focus on in my blog posts. I promise.
