Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Red

I almost, ALMOST bought another Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip($32) today at the mall because DUDES. These are so GOOD. The only thing that stopped me was the hubby wanting a Tom Ford fragrance because of the discount. Otherwise the shade #10 Rosewood would have come home with me today…and it still might find it’s way into my online shopping cart tonight because I love this formula. A LOT.

It’s not like this is a new idea, let’s get real. Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip is a dual-ended lipstick that aims to create the illusion of a fuller looking lip using an iridescent powder-to-cream highlighter. You just tap that highlighter on your bottom lip and Bazinga! Fuller, younger looking lips are yours. And it’s not like you can’t do this already with any shimmery eyeshadow you got in your collection, because you totally could. It’s not the highlighter that I love so much, but the formula of the lipstick is the star here, and that’s what has me wanting MORE of them!

Swatchy Time!

Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip #40 Carmine Red is GORGEOUS. It’s a classic red that anyone can pull off. The formula, like I said, is SUPERB. It’s opaque in one swipe, and the shape of the pencil makes it the easiest application ever. It just fits yours lips pretty perfectly!

It’s semi-matte I say, and dries down to a matte that is SO COMFY to wear, and that’s because it’s infused with oil. For me, this is one of the best lipstick formulas I’ve tried in ages! It doesn’t feather at all, and lasts comfortably until my chubby tummy decides it’s time to eat, which is pretty much at the 4-5 hour mark. I’m kind of hoping that MUFE decides to make a lipstick line without the highlighter some day in loads of shades, because they really should! The highlighter adds a pretty highlight as you can see, but to be honest, I can do without it. MAKE. MORE. LIPSTICK. SHADES….Please?!

Yeah, it’s a bit pricey for a lipstick I agree. But Make Up For Ever Pro Sculpting Lip is worth it I swear. Cross my heart, and hope to NEVER say “Contouring my Lips” because… NO. Not going to go there MUFE. Sorry HAHAHA!

Lots of nice new things from MUFE this spring! I see they have some new pink lipstick/gloss/balm things too that I kind of want to try out! So many lipsticks, so little time! Did you get a new lipstick during the Sephora Spring Sale?

  • Ooh, glad you’e loving these! They seemed a bit gimmicky to me at first, but it’s great to hear that the formula is so top-notch! And that’s such a pretty rosy shade on you 🙂

  • Angela

That red is fantastic on you, Tracy!! As a self confessed lipstick addict, I have been clean for one month and one week; I did not indulge during the sale (but I did order Consonant sunscreen, LOL). Apparently my will power has its limits 😉 I will continue to live vicariously through you!

    • Thanks Angela! LOL hahahaha I NEED HELP DUDE most of my Sephora sale was lipsticks HAHAHA!
That sunscreen is awesome! I just ordered another one actually. We’ve been hiking a lot lately and it’s been awesome to use. I set it with a bit of MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in extra light on most days and I’m good! I hope you like it!

HEY there! I got the consonant sunscreen and have been using it this past week. Does it smell ‘funny’ to you? I’ve never tried a mineral sunscreen before so perhaps that’s standard, but this smells off, like when oils start going rancid…it bothers me while I put it on but then it disappears or I can’t smell my own face after, LOL. But then I’m not certain I didn’t get a bad batch!
Nonetheless, I LOVE it. My skin looks awesome and not greasy, which is a refreshing change. I haven’t been wearing anything else aside from concealer o hide my super unflattering dark eye circles. I also don’t get the dry patches peeking through my makeup part way through the day, like I used to. It’s only been 4 days of using it, but aside from the smell – so far so GREAT!!

      • There’s rice bran oil in it-I think that’s what you’re smelling? That’s what I smell when I put it on-reminds me of the Tatcha Rice Exfoliator actually-kind of a cardboard and seed oil mix. Once it’s on, I don’t smell it at all though. It’s too bad they aren’t in store so you could check there. I hope they bring them to store some day. I am glad you like it though-it’s all I’ve been wearing pretty much as well now that I’m outside a lot more.

  • Oh that red, be still my heart! Looks gorgeous on you! Sounds like a lovely formula. Not sure I’d wear the highlight on my lips to be honest, maybe I’d re-purpose to a brow-bone highlighter.

    • You would LOVE this one! And yeah, same here-the whole lip highlight thing is whatever to me.

  • ajalisa

Go-geous color on you! I need to try these. I’m also gonna be an enabler, by whispering in your ear….. “Buy #10 Rosewood, Buuuy #10 Rosewood….” ;0)

  • This colour is so so so you Tracy! I agree – I think MUFE needs to come out with more shades – I’m definitely looking for some nude and bold colours!

  • Looks and sounds great! Contours on point, girl!

  • Lily

Oh I love lipstick pens! I bought a few Bobbi Brown Art Sticks recently. I really like them. I wonder when we’ll get these though. We only just VERY recently got the Ultra HD concealer. Probably a few more months? LOL!

    • Same! So easy to apply. I need some of the Art Sticks-they look great and everyone loves them!
      Hahaha hopefully soon!

  • Contouring / highlighting lips? We don’t have any more facial features to contour! When will it stop?? On a different note, that red on you just looks sublime!

  • This is flying under the radar I think, I haven’t read too much about it! But your raving about the quality of the lipstick side has me intrigued. I gotta try it!

  • I hadn’t even heard of these! It’s a gorgeous shade! But yeah, can’t we just make it a pencil, and skip the contouring schtick??? PUN INTENDEDDDDDDDDD 😉
