Every year, L’Occitane creates a one-of-a-kind, limited-edition Shea Butter product to celebrate International Women’s Day. But this is a special year for two reasons! 2016 is the 40th anniversary of L’Occitane. Happy Birthday L’Occitane! And 2016 also marks over thirty years of cooperation between L’Occitane and the women of Burkina Faso, who produce all of the company’s shea butter. Today there are more than 17,000 women involved in the cooperatives, where they are paid over three times the market price for their shea butter.
L’Occitane’s 2016 Women’s Day Solidarity Balm combines Shea Butter with the scent of rose, which makes this healing balm extra special. And you can use this anywhere you need some extra moisture like lips, elbows, knees, cuticles, – pretty much everywhere and anywhere you want!
L’Occitane’s 2016 Women’s Day Solidarity Balm
The brightly coloured design and motifs on the tin are inspired by wax-print fabrics, which are worn by Burkinabé women during special ceremonies. L’Occitane’s 2016 Women’s Day Solidarity Balm retails for $6 each. 100% of the profits will finance NGO projects for women’s leadership in Burkina Faso, with the support of the L’OCCITANE Foundation. L’Occitane is hoping to see that donation reach 281 000 € worldwide, so let’s help them get to their goal! This is a cause every beauty lover should support!
L’Occitane’s 2016 Women’s Day Solidarity Balm will be in stores on February 22, 2016 and will remain past International Women’s Day, which is March 8th, 2016.
