Fresh Sugar Lip Lovers Holiday 2015 Set

Fresh Sugar Lip Lovers($55) is one of the holiday sets at Sephora by the brand. I can’t believe how early the holiday sets appeared at Sephora this year?! Which is a little unsettling, because a lot of them are disappearing already, even online. I can’t find the Marc Jacobs mini lipstick set I picked up online at all, and the one I snagged was the last one in the store. This year’s Tarte Blush Palette also is not on the Canadian site either and the last time I was at Sephora it was out of stock too.  I’m a bit of a conspiracy theorist when it comes to Sephora, so part of this jaded Beauty Blogger thinks they didn’t want us getting a lot of these special sets at 20% off when the sale happens.   >:(

Fresh Sugar Lip Lovers Holiday 2015 Set

I don’t know man, but everything is so TINY in a lot of holiday sets this year! Remember when brands used to put at least ONE product that was full-sized in a holiday set? Yeah, so do I.

I think the Fresh Lip Balms are my favourite lip balms and I do like the mini ones. You just have to be careful to NOT twist them up too high because they do break easily. Rosé is a pretty light neutral pink that makes your lips just look better.

The Fresh Sugar Shine Lip Treatment in Rosé was the first time I’ve tried their gloss and, meh-it’s ok. I’m not a huge gloss person, but this one does feel nice on the lips. It’s hard to get enough product out onto the applicator to cover your lips. I had to dip quite a few times, but maybe that’s because this tiny sample has such a tiny doe-foot. This shade again, is a MLLB shade, so sorry I didn’t take a pic because it’s not much difference on my lips colour-wise.

Fresh Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy, Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment

Fresh Sugar Advanced Therapy Lip Treatment is supposed to be antiaging and ultra-hydrating of a lip treatment. It’s really nice! But wow, it goes fast and the regular size version is pretty pricey here in Canada at $29. I might pick one up during the VIB sale. The Fresh Sugar Lip Serum Advanced Therapy is their ultimate age-defying treatment for your lips AND lip contour area. It’s supposed to nourish and improve the definition on and around the lips while visibly smoothing fine lines as well. It’s NOT a lip balm hey-it’s a serum, so remember that. What I do is rub a small amount on my lips in the morning and evening, wait for it to absorb, and then put a lip balm over top. I think it works well at smoothing lips, but, for the full price of $41 I wouldn’t purchase the full size. The Fresh Sugar Lip Polish smooths lips too and I like it a lot, but I’d never purchase the full size either.

So, I guess if you’re like me and wanted to try some of these things, then maybe this set is a good idea. But for the price? I’d get two full-sized Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments instead-Cherry is a personal fave of mine! It’s got great pigmentation and is a happy, sheer red shade that’s great for winter and I always have it in my purse. Marky loves the Plum shade and it’s pretty as well. Yup, that’s what I do instead.  😛

What do you think? Are you jaded like me this year?  😛  Does everything look smaller to you too? And WAY more expensive?

  • Everything looks small, expensive, and I think there should be a law against selling “holiday sets” in August. If it’s sold out 2 months before people shop for gifts, then it’s not an effing holiday/gifting set. But maybe it’s just me…

I really like Fresh lip balms too, it’s one of the only balm in a stick form that I find truly nourishing for my dry lips. But the brand in general is way overpriced I think!

    • RIGHT??!! No, it’s me TOO…like WTF man.

I love their lip balms!! And I agree…I think the brand is overpriced too.

  • Oh I am the same way…this is way too tiny!!! I like holiday sets but only if the price matches what I am getting. There are a few things in here I would like to try but I will pass

    • Right??!! When I opened it up I was: THAT’S IT??!!! WTF MAN.
      Yeah, good thinking dude!

  • Lily

I’ve read lots of reviews about their balms, but I just can’t bring myself to buy it. So expensive! These things are tiny here (way too small for the price) but sooooo cute 🙂

    • I love their lip balms so much…I’ll pay for them anytime. They can’t be beat imo!

  • This set actually has me pretty excited because I love Fresh lip treatments although if it’s all sample sizes then I’d get through it all too quickly. I might just get to see this in person if Sephora Melbourne stocks it when they open their doors next month!

  • We actually have to call a UK fresh line to get any Fresh in Europe. What is this shit?? I wanna try that soy cleanser, their ancient cream, the rose range.. I think I need to haul a container over to the USA and stock up.
