Random Skincare Loves That Are All About Moisture and Hydresia-And One Makeup Brush

I have some random makeup/skincare loves that I’ve been using over the summer that I thought I’d share with you because heck, why not? I’m a lazy summer blogger-if I can review a bunch of things in one post, that’s what I’mma’ gonna do.  😛

products made with Hydresia

First up, I don’t know about you, but even though it’s summer and it’s definitely hot and sweaty outside, my skin seems to get even DRIER than it does in winter. And heck, that makes sense because if I’m sweating more, water is evaporating off my skin so, water loss? Means DRY. I’m onto to you summer…you really do suck for me in more ways that one HAHAHAHA. So, this summer I’ve been looking for products that contain the ingredient Hydresia, which is an innovative new beauty ingredient by the Health Science and Technology company Botaneco. Hydresia is a natural ingredient made from safflower seed oleosomes that provide long-lasting, light-weight moisture. How? Well, the oleosomes gradually disperse plant oils and vitamin E once applied to the skin, like a continual release of moisture which is pretty dang COOL. And the best part is that Hydresia is extracted using an all-natural process from an organic, renewable resource.

Products containing Hydresia

Botaneco partners with recognized brands to give us easy access to the many benefits Hydresia has to offer. Many well-known beauty and skin care products (more than 300 to date) already feature the long-lasting moisturizing effects of Hydresia’s emulsifying oleosomes. Kiss My Face Sunscreen is a natural, mineral sunscreen that is kind of AMAZING. It leaves no white cast at all on my face at all, which sometimes you kind of need, right? Personally I don’t mind walking around on hiking trails looking like a ghost, but when I’m going shopping and doing my day-to-day life stuff, I prefer to not have to deal with white cast. This is a great option! PLUS it has Hydresia, so it’s constantly releasing those safflower seed oleosomes to keep my skin feeling hydrated and comfy! And who knew Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain Glosses contain Hydresia too?! That’s why they’re one of my fave summer gloss stains! Now I get it! If you have dry skin, I urge you to start looking at the ingredient lists of products and seeing if Hydresia, or safflower seed oleosomes are an ingredient. Trust me-you’ll notice a difference! PROMISE. And FYI, most of the products with Hydresia you’ll find in the all natural beauty section.  🙂 Just sayin’.  😉

Speaking of hydration, I’ve recently rekindled my 00’s love for LipFusion XXL Advanced Lip Plumping Therapy($57):

LipFusion XXL Advanced Lip Plumping Therapy

Remember when this stuff was all the rage? It’s still around, and still works really well! LipFusion XXL Advanced Lip Plumping Therapy is a day and night treatment packed with active caffeine and Niacin ingredients. This lip treatment gives lips a long lasting cushion effect that really does make your lips look a little bigger and plumper-as long as you keep using it though! It has a cumulative effect for sure. Worth the splurge if you feel like your lips need a bit of a boost. Some days, a boost is good, right? And the best part is that it really does help dry lips feel GOOD. And for like longer than a few hours too. I’m glad I rediscovered it! You can find LipFusion at some Shopper’s Drug Marts still. And hey-their concealer? Is kind of WOW. Take a look at it if you get a chance!

I love Dove. I really do. Their products are pretty affordable, and really hydrating. Well, at least for me! And this shower gel is not only hydrating, but CRIPES, it smells so darn full of summer that even me…QUEEN of Summer HATE… loves it.

Tiare Flower + Mandarin = YUMMMMMM summer in a shower gel. And I’m pretty sure I don’t have to tell you all about the whole Dove NutriumMoisture thing by now. Stuff works and works well at keeping your skin hydrated. Click here and get a $1 off coupon to try it!

And, one brush. Hey…continuity isn’t always my thing so….BRUSH. LOOK.

EcoTools Eye Perfecting Brush

Wow, Ecotools has really stepped up their brush game lately! This brush is pretty amazing for a drugstore brand.

Now, to use this on your eye? Would be insane. Unless you have some kind of big alien eye sockets and need to blend 6o eyeshadows seamlessly, this EcoTools Eye Perfecting Brush($10.99) is HUGE for normal eyes. And I get that maybe it’s for under eye use to bend concealer, but wow…it’s still BIG. I don’t know, maybe I got small eyes or something. But it works well if you are like me! And by like me, I mean someone who usually dots concealer all over their face to cover up spots and redness because it’s WAY too dang hot to use a foundation in the summer. This brush is amazing for blending my face concealer! Love it. You can find it at most places Ecotools is sold at like Walmart, or here at Farleyco. ca.

I love that Dove shower gel! I was perfectly happy with the Caudalie but this smells so good.

  • I wanna try that ecotoold brush!!!! I love ecotools and have always thought their brushes were AWESOME, beautifully designed, and really affordable. I need to try that!

  • Why do you hate summer? lol 🙂 I’m a Dove fan too. Haven’t tried this particular shower gel though. Sounds yummeh!

    • I don’t like the heat! It can aggravate my Multiple Sclerosis and it really fatigues me. Plus, with hot flashes I don’t need any more warmth lol!

  • Angela

Ooo I’ll have to keep an eye out for the hydresia ingredient. LOVE the guerilla posting – suits my ADD quite well, LOL!!

  • Ah, so that’s why the Revlon Moisture Stain feels cool and hydrating on contact! I still love the three colors I picked up (recently got a really juicy orange one, too), but Liz and Kristen warned me that they turn rather quickly. 😮
I just finished Vichy Aqualia serum and cream. They have done awesome jobs keeping my skin hydrated since May! The Korean essence water (Cremolab) is pretty fabulous, too! Deciem stuff is on my list thanks to your recs, but I think I’m going to wait until the vit c serum is in stock. 🙂

    • Yup! Oh, I haven’t noticed mine going bad yet! But thanks for the heads up.
The Vichy is so good, hey? They have an essence water too and it’s GOOD. Yeah, good idea to wait for the vitamin C! It’ll be worth it!

  • Ha ha! The Queen of Summer Hate! 😀 I love you, Tracy!
Does the LipFusion stuff tingle? I’ve always been curious about it, but tinglers and I don’t really jibe. Thanks for the Hydresia lesson! I’ve never heard of it before but now I’m going to look for it! I love all of the hydrations in my nighttime skincare routine!

    • Love you too babe! xo
Nope, no tingle! You can tell it’s there, but what it does is grab moisture from the air to hydrate your skin. Some science going on there!

  • I can’t use Eco Tools brushes, they make my skin react badly, boo hoo. Definitely going to look into Hydresia, thanks for the tip!

  • I think we tried a Dove shower gel and my skin unfortunately does not like it, lol. Rats, too, because they do come in some great-smelling varieties.

My hydration serum is still Vichy (like Lena – I am midway through bottle 2, lol! – thanks for that rec again) but I’m also really liking this Origins toner I got that seems to help prep skin a little better, too. I’m kind of excited coz I found a Wegmans here and they have a great beauty selection!

    • Awww, that’s too bad! I love Dove. I love how you guys both love that serum! It’s so GOOD. Still my HG hydrating serum for sure. Glad you found a great place to shop!
