All Kinds Of Cleansing Lately,Starting with Bioderma Sensibio Crealine Cleansing Milk

I really think I’m a cleanser junkie. Because I have two new ones added to my Face Cleanser Roll Call. But in my defense, I’ve finished the Pai one(FINALLY) and also the Vichy Pureté Thermal 3-in-1 One Step Cleanser, which I might repurchase… if it weren’t for the fact that I’ve kind of fallen in love with another creamy milk cleanser. This blogging business makes you really feel like a mutinous pirate when it comes to products…one day you’re swearing allegiance to the Vichy, the next you’re screaming and sword-fighting your traitorous soul because you’ve fallen in love with something else by Bioderma, because it has a lovely, big, feathery HAT…I’m a filthy beauty scallywag, what can I say   😛  Like it or leave it ya’ bunch of beauty seadogs.

Bioderma Sensibio Crealine Cleansing Milk.jpg

Two new Cleansers oh my: GlamGlow Powercleanse Daily Dual Cleanser and Bioderma Sensibio Crealine Cleansing Milk,

First up, the Bioderma Sensibio Crealine Cleansing Milk($18.95) is probably one of the best creamy cleansing milk cleansers I’ve tried, and I think it works just as well as the much famed Pai Cleanser that everyone raves about. It’s fragrance-free, contains anti-irritants to reduce redness, and it does not contain any kind of detergent cleansing agents that irritate sensitive dry skin like mine.

Bioderma Sensibio Crealine Cleansing Milk

The emollients in this one of course are quite different from the Pai one, and the ingredient list shows that difference. The main emollients in the Bioderma Sensibio Crealine Cleansing Milk are glycerin and mineral oil while the Pai is all plant oils. Now for me, mineral oil doesn’t do anything except keep moisture in my skin. My skin actually really likes it and doesn’t break out from it like it does from a lot of plant oils, which happen to be in the Pai one. Mineral oil gets such a bad rap for some reason, but it’s quite an effective humectant. This cleanser leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized just like the more expensive Pai one, plus it doesn’t stink like that one hahaha(I know, I know, a lot of you really LIKE that sitnk-I don’t sorry(not sorry really LOL) ). Oh, and this cleanser is the BOMB at taking off makeup! It’s even better than the micellar water I say. It even works on my eye makeup and doesn’t sting, or irritate at all. For me, this is a clear winner and has gained a permanent spot in my cleanser roll call.

GlamGlow Powercleanse Daily Dual Cleanser.jpg

GlamGlow Powercleanse Daily Dual Cleanser

The GlamGlow Powercleanse Daily Dual Cleanser($43) I first picked up on one of my California trips. I forgot to bring an oil cleanser with me, and I always use an oil cleanser to remove my sunscreen, and then cleanse with another gentle cleanser to remove any oil residue. You know, the whole double cleanse technique that you have to should use to remove sunscreen, unless you’re some kind of magical unicorn that doesn’t break out from sunscreens. 😛

Now, I’m not a huge fan of GlamGlow at all, and in fact tend to ignore most of their products, but this sounded like something that I could really USE at the time! I mean, hello-it combines the power of mud and oil, PLUS it foams! It’s like double cleansing in ONE step! The mud and oil are in separate chambers which is pretty cool, and when combined in the hand transform into an effective dual cleanse foaming lather in one easy step.

GlamGlow Powercleanse Daily Dual Cleanser

You can pump as much mud and as much oil as like-you control the ratio to your liking-I like 4 pumps mud to 3 pumps oil but hey, it’s up to you-then just rub them together in your hand to combine and apply to your face. Then, when you add water it foams up and cleanses SO, SO WELL. The cleansing oil dissolves my makeup and sunscreen, while the cleansing mud gently detoxifies leaving my face CLEAN in one, freakin’ easy step! No more two cleansers needed EVER. I’m on my second bottle now, and have another back-up because for the longest time this wasn’t in Canada and I can’t be without it now. But YAY, it’s here now and trust me-GET ONE if sunscreen breaks you out. I don’t worry about breaking out anymore now that this cleanser is in my shower.

Nip + Fab Dragon's Blood Fix Pads2.jpg

Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood Fix Pads

I just picked up these Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood Fix Pads($14.95) because of my dear friend and fellow #YEG Blogger Rae@TheNotice-we’ve actually HUGGED and I can pretty much cover Rae in my bear hug-I’m 5″10″ and she’s about 5’2″ I think(correct me Rae if my guess is wrong) but she’s ADORABLE and if you’ve ever had the pleasure to meet her, then you’ll know her skin is FLAWLESS. So, when she raves about something in skincare, I tend to listen. I’ve literally been using these Nip + Fab Dragon’s Blood Fix Pads for four days and have fallen in LOVE. Each of the 60 pads are enriched with salicylic and hyaluronic acid to cleanse pores without stripping moisture from the skin. There’s also witch hazel in them to help reduce the appearance of imperfections and leave your complexion looking smoother and refreshed. And the Dragon’s Blood (hello DRAGON, right?) is from the the bright red resin of the Sangre de Grado (Croton lechleri) tree, which is full of antioxidants and forms a kind of protective barrier on the skin. Rae even uses these to remove her eye makeup, but I haven’t done that as my eyes are SO sensitive and dry that I’m a bit leery(my MS meds are a bitch I tell ya). But for the face these are AWESOME. I’m kind of a lazy AM cleanser-type, especially if I’m going to the gym. These are fantasticly easy to swipe all over my face when I wake up, and they make me feel clean and accomplished in one step. I like them! I feel like my skin is getting cleansed, treated, and protected all at once…a lazy cleansing gal’s dream! WIN, WIN, WIN!

Yves Rocher Lemon Basil Exfoliating Shower Gel.jpg

Yves Rocher Lemon Basil Exfoliating Shower Gel

Yves Rocher Lemon Basil Exfoliating Shower Gel($9) I picked up on a recent order for Marky-she loves their skincare. I saw this and thought: I NEED IT. And boy I was right! With 100% natural fruit seeds to gently exfoliate the skin, you don’t have to worry about those nasty plastic beads clogging up our lakes. Honestly, HOW the beauty industry EVER thought that was a good idea is beyond me??! Anyways, exfoliating aspect aside, it’s the scent that makes this such a winner! Subtle citrus with basil herby goodness-it’s just refreshing as heck and I need more now since I only bought one. WHO doesn’t love basil, I mean seriously! There’s also just a plain shower gel version which I plan on getting too!

Glow Juicery Sky Glow Juice

Glow Juicery is a local juicery-is that even a word LOL-that sells fresh and healthy pressed juices to get you healthy and feeling good! They even offer cleansing packages, which I plan on trying soon. This was the SKY GLOW juice made with Pear, Cucumber, Lemon and Mint and it was delicious! I think I need a good body juice cleanse to clean out my insides, so this is on my to-do list this summer. Have you ever done a juice cleanse? What did you think? Any advice-worth it or not?

And, last but not least-the FUNNY CLEANSE. I had to get this, because LOOK AT IT. And that’s what you’ll be using to cleanse your hands if you come visit my house! Keeping and refilling the container for like EVER. And you’re welcome to come visit, and cleanse ANYTIME my friends!  🙂

Is there anything better than that feeling of a good cleanse? I can’t think of anything right now! The whole refreshing smell, that WOW clean feeling-I can’t get enough of it in the summer. What are some of your favourite refreshing summer cleansers?

  • YESSSSS TRACY DRAGON’S BLOOD. I am so so so glad to hear that you’re loving them, too!!!

(PS where did you find those??? I need more, but I haven’t been able to track them down!!)

I’m loving that Bioderma too, but for some reason I’ve been finding that if I wear both eyeliner and sunscreen, all it does is smear them around my face. (And then I have to go for a Dragon’s Blood pad to clean it all up, which, honestly, I probably should have done in the first place.) It’s such a gentle cleanser, though, and my skin has been so irritated recently — I’ve been using that some days, and the Tolerance+ moisturizer every night, which seems to be helping.

Anyhow. Loved reading about your cleanser picks, girl!! We must hang out when I come home — I think I’m due in for another one of your epic bear hugs 😉

    • They are SO GOOD, so thanks for blogging about them! And ok, I will try them on my eye makeup. I don’t wear a lot of tough eyeliner, so the Bioderma works well for me. I can see it being tougher to remove liquid liner.
I got them at a Shopper’s in Sherwood Park-the one that’s attached to their mail. If you like, I can go back and pick you up one! I think I want to go get another anyways!

  • DRAGON’S BLOOD? OMG. I want to try this now!!!! And I might give that glamglow one a try– not a fan of theirs since their mask makes me break out so bad, but now I’m curious!

    • Hahahaha, right? I just like it for the name even! Yeah, I’m not a fan of their masks either, but this cleanser is great!

  • I still find it really sad that you dislike the Pai cleanser! It’s something I’ve repurchased multiple times! Regardless, I am intrigued by the Glamglow cleansers. I haven’t really tried their masks, but the cleansers actually seem way more interesting!

    • Hahaha I don’t hate it, I just don’t think it’s all that special is all, and it’s expensive for what it is. I’ve tried a couple of the masks and they’re meh-but this cleanser is great! And lasts a long time too!

  • You got it! I’ll try and go this week then!

    • Aww, thanks Tracy!! No rush — just whenever you’re due to replenish (or back up) yours 🙂

(Although I do wanna see you soooon! I get my tonsils out on the 17th and am gonna be pretty much quarantined for the rest of summer, so maybe next week if you have time?)

  • LOL at that last one. That is hysterical. My cleanser game is boring lately, but it seems to be working? I’m afraid to mess with it too much right now since I just had some gross breakouts within the past couple of months, and they *seem* to have gone away, LOL.

    • As long as it’s working it’s all good! I think your skin was just getting used to the heat and humidity is all.

  • rachlovespenguins

No shame in refilling the soap dispenser- especially with a classy container like that last one! 😉
Good to hear that Bioderma option doesn’t irritate the eyes! I’ll give it a whirl if I ever get the chance!
I may be rather loyal to my Tatcha cleanser (I know you think they’re over-hyped) but I do still try new things from time to time. And I really want that Yves Rocher shower gel!!! 🙂

    • Classy is RIGHT! 😛
Yeah, it’s good stuff! But only if you’re like me and don’t wear a lot of waterproof stuff. Otherwise, it’s kind of like the micellar version-it works, but takes time.
Yeah, I still think the brand is hyped too much for what it is, but hey if it works for you it’s all good. That shower gel is so GOOD. I need more….

  • Oooh you got the exfoliating pads, cool! I’ve been dying to try those…

As for that GlamGlow cleanser, it actually sounds really intriguing… Consider my interest piqued!

  • Ahahaha! So funny yet so true (that cleanser bottle)! ;D
I actually use a pretty soap dispenser and refill it with whatever I feel like. My current hand soap is actually Johnson’t baby wash in the Honey Apple scent.
I used up a 1 oz tube of Vichy milk cleanser and quite loved it with Clarisonic. Right now I’m not using a super wp sunscreen, so I’ve been using Vichy micellar water to remove my sunscreen/cushion makeup followed by a foaming cleanser and Tatcha enzyme powder. A bit of a ritual it is, but I love how refreshed my skin feels after. Not irritated at all. 🙂

    • You should have seen me laughing my head off at the store!
Cleansing skin like you do is the ticket to flawless skin like yours Lena!

  • The #1 After genital contact soap? how many more are there? There’s rankings?Ha ha ha ha . The pads sound really good, I’ll have to take a look next time Im in Boots

  • I have fallen in love with 3 cleansers, Clarins Creamy milk and Juice Beauty’s cleansing milk. The one I swore I would never ever buy was micellar water and dang if Simple’s offering is wallet friendly and works great! I’m sweltering in the 100 plus Texas heat ugghhh

    • That Simple one is really good I agree! I have it and love it too!
Poor you-I’d never leave the house if it was that hot here!

  • Stop you had me giggling this whole post! I need that last soap for my house! Also I’m pretty sure we are all pirates in this community.

  • I’m with you on the fact that Glamglow is generally overhyped – what they do are mostly outrageously expensive clay masks… But you got me curious about the cleanser! The mud doesn’t dry you out with daily use?

  • Lily

OMG that Maybe you touched your genitals liquid soap just cracks me up every time! Why the name??? LOL LOL!!! I’m about to use up my cleanser, and that Bioderma one sounds good. Might have to see if we get this cream cleanser here

  • I’m gonna need that last bottle, who invents stuff like that?!
Bummer we cannot get that Bioderma milk here (yet) and I’ve been looking into the supermud cleanser for a while now but cannot part with the money for it.
Yves Rocher is low low budget here, never tried much of theirs as it just doesn’t interest me.. don’t even think we get this thing you’re holding here.. must be a Canada thing?

    • I know, right? hahahahaha!
Yeah, it’s relatively inexpensive here too Yves Rocher, but they do make some decent skincare! You should check out some of their stuff sometime. That shower gel is SO good.

  • Liz

Yup, I saw Rae’s flawless skin for myself during her TO visit and I want to see yours next!

There’s something about Glam Glow that I can’t stand so I haven’t tried any of their stuff, and I finally saw Pai at some store and thought that their products all smelled funny. I’ll just stick to my Neutrogena and Marcelle and the occasional spontaneous splurge.

But I am going to HAVE to pick up that Yves Rocher!

    • Haha mine’s not as flawless as hers trust me!
And YAY someone that finally agrees with me about the smells of Pai! I feel so validated now hahaha!
I love that shower gel….almost out now dang it! MUST. ORDER. MOAR.

  • Hmm that Glam Glow cleaner is interesting! I’ve tried a mini of the youthmud mask and liked it! But not sure if I liked it enough to fork over that much for a full sized tub of it!

  • Toya

Loving the sound of the Nip + Fab pads, I’m definitely going to be checking those out! I have a tricky time with oil cleansers because I really like them fragrance-free (including no essential oils) but they’re hard to come by, and you’re right – you really need something like that to remove makeup. And I’m NOT interested in using Clinique TTDO stuff because…I’m just Clinique’d out lol. So it’s been tricky – I usually just use a basic oil to remove makeup because it’s easy, but I would love to find a really good one that’s a bit fancy (but not too expensive), ya know?
