Fast Summer Makeup with Mary Kay At Play Shadow & Liners and Mary Kay At Play Lip & Cheek Sticks

Mary Kay At Play has come out with two genius double-tasking makeup products to help you get ready and beautiful in a flash! Because seriously, who wants to spend tons of time doing your makeup in the summer? Summer is short up here in Canada! We need to enjoy as much of it as we can before it disappears!

Mary Kay At Play Shadow & Liners are portable, multi-tasking eyeshadow pencils and eyeliners in one!

They are a nice and creamy formula with a pretty pearlized finish that blends easily. And they are fade and smudge-proof too. I have oily lids, so I need a primer first to make sure they stay put. And they do! Love them! The colours are so pretty and mixing and matching them is so much fun! As I get older, I much prefer cream eyeshadows over powder, as they stay put and don’t irritate my eyes. I really like these Mary Kay At Play Shadow & Liners! Depending on the shade, the liners can be a bit waxy, but they still seem to work quite well for me.

Mary Kay At Play Lip & Cheek Sticks($12)

Here’s a quick colourful makeup look I created that’s perfect for any summer event/activity you got going this summer. First of course, apply your favourite makeup base. I’d suggest the Mary Kay CC Cream Complexion Corrector Cream Sunscreen SPF 15. Check out my review from last year by clicking HERE.

Then, take the Mary Kay At Play Shadow & Liner in Mint To Be and apply the eyeshadow side all over the lid and use your finger to blend it out(or a brush if you wish, but honestly fingers are quick and work so well with the product). The colour is buildable too, so keep on layering until you get the intensity you want.

Line your upper lash line with the dark green liner too!

Then take the Mary Kay At Play Shadow Liner in Iced Lilac, and use the liner side to line your bottom lash line. Smudge it out with another finger, or a brush if you prefer. Then take the lilac shadow and apply it to your inner eye for a pretty purple glow! Add some mascara and fill in your brows, and your eyes are done!

Mary Kay At Play Lip & Cheek Sticks-Use a Stippling Brush to apply! Look how much product is on the brush-seriously pigmented!

You can use your fingers to apply and blend if you wish, but because these blushes are so pigmented, I do suggest a brush this time. A stippling brush would be perfect! Just dab your brush onto the stick, and PLEASE, dab the excess off on the back of your hand first BEFORE going to your cheeks! Otherwise you’ll get clown cheeks! As for lasting power, on me I get a good 6 hours of wear time before I notice fading stating to happen, so that’s pretty great for a cream cheek product if you ask me.

Then dab a bit of Peach Pop onto your lips and you’re ready to go! And I’m surprised at how comfortable the Mary Kay At Play Lip & Cheek Sticks are on the lips! Usually cheek products that claim to also be lip products are so drying on the lips, but these aren’t. So comfortable and pretty! They dry down to a pretty, matte finish that lasts quite well too.

And Bazinga! You are done! Now go have fun at that BBQ, or wedding, or fair, or farmer’s market, or whatever else you’re doing this summer! And look gorgeous doing it thanks to Mary Kay At Play!

Come summer, I love using easy to use, multi-tasking cream products like this! I hate spending too much time on my makeup and wasting good sunlight. What are some of your favourite multi-tasking makeup products?

  • Wow those blushes! That pigmentation! It’s great to see the texture doesn’t look dry or powdery on the lips! I’m definitely all about cutting corners and saving time in summer as well. Cream/stick products are great for that!

    • They are SO pigmented Sunny! Creams and sticks like these are the way to go in the summer!

  • LOVE the look you put together. I am excited to play with these now (they were sitting at the bottom of my pile but are moving up!)

  • rachlovespenguins

I like them all, but wow that peach! You mean to tell me that there is actually a cheek/lip hybrid product out there that does NOT murder your lips? No, I do not believe you. 😛
Speaking of murdering lips though, guess what stupid me did again? You’d think that one accidental chemical burn would be enough for a lifetime, but nooooooooo, I’ve now managed to do it twice. Twice! Thankfully this time I quickly recognised it for what it was and pulled out the medicated lip gunk. I knew I kept that awful stuff around for a reason. I know myself so well. LOL

  • They really are! Thanks!

  • Emma Bovary

love the look of those blushes, and how good is the RT stippling brush!? I love the look of the chocolate liner and the green shades too!

    • It’s my fave for cream blushes that brush! I have two of them haha! All of these cream products really impressed me!

  • Wowza, these all look SO good! And I love the look you created, it’s so fun and colorful. And yet again I am just AMAZED by how smooth your skin looks. How is possible that you have better skin than most girls in their twenties?!

    • Thanks! Hahahaha I love my skincare! I’ve been taking care of it forever, but my mama had great skin too. And I stay out of the sun as much as I can.

  • Lily

Oh wow. The cream blushes look really good on your lips as well! I love cream blushes, but darn, they never die though. LOL!

    • Hahaha, I know what you mean! As I age though, creams just work so much better for me.

  • Liz

So pretty you! Love the look of those lip & cheek sticks most of course. And they actually apply well on lips – this is something none of the high-end brands can get right for some reason.

  • ooooh the green looks so pretty on your eyes! I have been wanting to try cream blushes in coral for a while, so I may just need to look these up.

  • I wouldn’t have thought to put the green and purple together but it looks beautiful on you!
