How-To Spring: Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge!

I loves me a good challenge. Always have, always will. I like a fight… what can I say…should have taken up boxing now that I think about it! There’s not much that can keep this old chick down…and I say that with pride! From being bullied as a chubby child yet STILL playing basketball and volleyball, to being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 15 years ago and STILL able to do Zumba-yeah I know I’m talking extremes here… but it’s all TRUE. Nothing has ever been all that easy for me. Life has been a challenge all the way. And, you know what gives me HUGE anxiety??!! Fashion and stuff like that! I live in leggings, jeans, t-shirts, workout clothes, runners..you get the idea. Oh sure, I love accessories and makeup and shoes…but that other stuff that goes along with being a girl??!! BIGGEST CHALLENGE OF TRACY’S LIFE. Multiple Sclerosis has been EASY compared to coordinating an outfit! I’m serious….#FashionChallenged

So when I was contacted to take part in the Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge, I hesitated for a bit. But then I thought…dude you can do this… 😛

I took some inspiration from Walmart’s Online Look Book which is kind of a wow for style challenged people like me! Take a look at it-it’s kind of awesome! You can shop for a specific Look, Colour Trend, Occasion or Theme of your choosing. And then when you actually go to Walmart, look for directional ‘How-To’ signage to guide your way to get your SPRING ON baby!

Wanna see what I got? I’m kind of proud of myself…and it only took me an hour and a half…with some help from Terry HAHAHAHA. Yeah, that’s right…I needed my hubby’s help! He’s kind of got a good eye for colour!

A dress! A DRESS. I hauled a maxi dress! How could I not? It was only $12…MY GOD. Walmart’s George line has great prices! And it’s nice too! I love it!

I’m not a huge fan of sandals to be honest, but these Dr.Scholl’s flats are a nice cross between sneakers and flats, so they’re fancier, right? My feet need more support than most flats can offer, plus look at this happy shade of bright red! Kind of makes the navy in the dress pop, hey? That’s what Terry said LOL! Like I said, my dude knows his colour! Maybe I’m getting this fashion thingy…   😛  Sort of?? hahahaha  😀 😀

And from now on I’ve decided to match my lipstick to my shoes…that’s style, right? RIGHT. That there is Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick 895 Poppy and LOVE it.

If you haven’t tried one of these Revlon Ultra HD lipsticks yet-DO IT. Yeah, they smell, sure. But they smell GOOD. Like some kind of amazing vanilla/caramel cake that’s so full of calories that WOW you’re saving your hips from Armageddon by wearing this…. True story.   😛  As you can tell, I love the smell, but maybe it is a bit much if you hate smells… but PFFTTTT... these are so lightweight and I can’t believe how pigmented and comfy they are! You have to get one.

Maybelline’s BB Cream has SPF30 and I think it’s a summer must have. It’s nice and light, evens out my skin tone, protects my skin from the sun…what else do you need when the weather warms up? And the Rimmel London Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint in Sunkissed Cherry is perfect for the summer. It goes really well with bronzers…which btw…I HAD to get this one, the Physician’s Formula City Glow Daily Defense Bronzer Paris!

SERIOUSLY LOOK AT IT. HOLY MAN what a pretty bronzer! Also, I want to go back to Paris REAL BAD… so yeah! This was more expensive than my dress HAHAHA at $14.93, but worth every freakin’ penny because LOOK AT IT. So finely milled! Soft! And just the right amount of glow for a pale girl like me! I think I may have a serious bronzer addiction… I almost bought another one by Guerlain today until I slapped my face and reminded myself I had already gotten this one…and to be honest..they’re kind of the same once swatched so save yourself some $$$$ and get this one instead!

And since I’ve been having a hard time with my life turquatic lately, I had to get this Maybelline Color Tattoo in #40 Tenacious Teal, and WOW! I’m so glad I did! It’s amazingly pigmented and gorgeous!

SEE that TEAL!!! I’m so excited to try it! It’s perfect for summer!

And because I’m a practical Beauty Blogger, this is what rounded out my Walmart Spring Shopping Challenge. Lady Speed Stick Clinical Protection Triple Defense Antiperspirant because DUDE. Summer=SWEAT. Need it. And Live Clean has the most awesome little travel pack of their amazing skincare right now that’s just perfect for if, and more likely WHEN I go back to California…  😛 And it was less than $8???!!! Amazing. If you haven’t tried out any of their skincare yet, you really should! It’s nice! And it comes in an airplane ready travel pack too! Perfect!

Yup! I think I passed this Walmart #LooksForLess Shopping Challenge with flying colours! Right? I’m patting myself on the shoulder as I write this post, because seriously I’m not kidding- this was SO HARD for me! Do you find fashion/style as challenging as I do?

Our Color Tattoos are so boring!! We’re stuck with the original shades and that’s it. Boring!

  • I will start by saying I don’t like Walmart for its work ethics and I avoid shopping there at all costs! However, I really like that dress you picked! The shoes are kind of cute too!

I love shopping for clothes and sometimes I think I like it even more than shopping for makeup!

And lastly, but most importantly, you’re such a hero and such a strong woman for dealing with MS and staying so active!! Everyone should look up to you, Tracy!!!

Much love and have a fantastic weekend!

    • Yeah, I know…it’s a touchy thing for sure.

I hate shopping for clothes LOL!! I’m just not very stylish haha!

Awww, thanks Agata! I try! I just wish I could actually lose some weight LOL!
Thanks! Love ya too and have an awesome weekend!

  • You got some cute stuff! Those red shoes are adorable and I love a good maxi dress! I cracked up about the lipstick scent saving you from hip armageddon, lololol!! 😀 I’ve gotten better slightly about picking out clothes the night before and enjoying it. I could seriously live in leggings and t-shirts and flip flops and be satisfied 99% of the time, but when I force myself to pick something “cute” for work, it can be fun to put it together with earrings and whatnot. Though picking out makeup is WAY more fun, lol!

  • Poppy is such a cute shade! Very spring-appropriate. And yes, that bronzer looks supah dupah pretty.

  • Emma Bovary

Poppy looks great on you and the scent sounds amaaaazing! Love the pop of bright shoe with a maxi, very cute indeed. I am woeful in the style stakes too but it doesn’t bother me too much 😉 That Paris bronzer needs to jump into my stash though, so beautiful and reminds me of a Lancôme embossing

  • OMG I have Poppy too and LOVE it! I wasn’t too sure about the HD formula at first but the formula has grown on me because these lippies are so easy to wear – swipe and go – feel so light and DON’T bleed at all!
