Stila Field of Florals Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Palette

I have a no backups rule. I’m a jaded beauty junkie and don’t believe in that business anymore. There’s always something new coming out in makeup land that will undoubtedly be better than something I covet, so why bother? Right? Plus I have Makeup ADD. I get bored easily.  😛

But this palette? Is seriously making me reconsider my no backup rule.

Stila Field of Florals Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Palette($64) has rekindled my love for these cream blushes! I forgot how lovely they look on the cheek. They leave the prettiest, dewy flush that makes you look well rested, healthy, pretty-and YOUNGER looking too.

Swatchy time! I swatched them going down the rows from top to bottom-it was just easier that way.

Starting on the left, swatching down:

I’ve been using Stila Field of Florals Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Palette pretty much every day since I got it. The pans are a tad small, but my Real Techniques Stippling Brush seems to almost fit in them. Sometimes I’ll put a swatch on my hand and then coat my brush with that. I love how I can mix and match and make my own blush shade if I’m feeling extra adventurous  😀  They’re creamy, so they don’t settle in my cheeky smile wrinkles which is a big bonus. They last well on me too, which is surprising for something so creamy. You could always set them with a powder blush if you do need them to last longer and that works well. I don’t like doing that because it takes away from that dewy look I’m loving right now.

The Stila Field of Florals Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Palette can be used on the lips too, but eh-I don’t bother with that. I have too many lipsticks I really love right now, plus why waste these on my lips? Cheeks only baby!

The Stila Field of Florals Convertible Color Dual Lip and Cheek Palette is Limited Edition, so if you’re interested in it I say scoop one up soon!

Do you buy backups of products you love? What do you think I should do? Should I get a backup?

  • i’m really waffling about this one. i love the formula and think its one of the duo purpose creams out there but i already have two shades. and the pans seem a little small. i know you mentioned you can get in there fine with a brush but….not sure…maybe i’ll have to see it in person…sort of really want it lol

  • Liz

Haha, I love it when you get worked up over BLUSH. I use my Poppy Convertible as mostly a blush too but like that it’s pigmented enough for lips. If I could just cut a strip of the right column only and get the darker colours…. ahhhhh. It’s a beautiful palette. (I say wait for a sale!)

  • Fellow product ADD sufferer here! I back up certain things like my foundation colour because it was so freaking hard to find the first time, but in terms of colour products, I don’t think I’ll ever back anything up again.

  • I have been coveting this palette for weeks now and I think your review just sold me on it. I NEVER backup anything since I rarely get through what I already have. I think the only thing I backup is skincare if it’s on discount.

  • Hey Tracy, whoaaa this is too tempting! I’m trying not to buy more cream blushes because I have several open ones, but that might change… I almost never buy backups, unless it’s something I am almost using up that is being discontinued. Dior Spring Ball Addict Extreme is the only thing I own TWO backups of. I am still pretty pissed that Dior discontinued it!

    • Yeah, see… I don’t know what to do! If I should get a backup or just over the shades i truly LOVE. UGGH….

  • I want this palette so bad but I have never tried Stila blushes and I normally don’t like cream products that much. But I love everything about this one!

I don’t ever buy backups, like you said, there is always so much new stuff coming out. If you think you couldn’t live without it, get a backup! But how long will it take you to actually run out of the shades in this one?

    • This is the BEST blush palette ever made.
I’m not sure as I hardly use anything up! But this thing I think I actually might!

  • This looks awesome! I sometimes buy backups, but not when it comes to cream products, because they either go bad quickly or they dry out! x

  • I was soo tempted by this palette as I love the formula! Gerbera is my fave cream blush ever. Loving the looks of Peach Blossom and Hibiscus also 🙂

  • So adorable and perfect!
I agree with “cheeks only” unless you’re in a pinch. This way this pretty baby will have a longer shelf life. 🙂

  • Emma Bovary

Peach Blossom ughhh so pretty! I love the Stila CC’s though I have seemed to have forgotten them in recent years…I don’t think I have many back-up items for makeup? Except for my essence Hot Chocolate liner – always scared they will discontinue that and break this beauty bloggers heart!

  • Nah, no backups – it’s cream and it’ll prolly not stay that well preserved, haha. But it’s really pretty!

I try to hold off on getting a backup of something until it’s abundantly clear that I’ll be emptying the first one. Now I realise this is much harder with LE stuff, since you simply don’t have enough time to use half of it before making your decision. Soooooo I think if you believe that you would truly empty it before a backup exceeded its
lifespan (dried up, expired, got yucky- whatever your tolerance level)
then it could be worth getting another. But like you mentioned, there
are always new fun things on the horizon, and one of them could be even
better. My vote leans mostly towards just sticking with the one.

All that being said, I’m having a major grabby hands moment over hibiscus. How frickin pretty is that?!?! I neeeeeeeeeeeeds

    • This palette is freakin’ my LIFE right now! and because it’s creamy, I think I’ll need a backup for sure, because the lifespan of creams is like what? 6 months LOL? UGGH.

      • rachlovespenguins

How sealed does this thing come, and how quickly do you think you’ll go through the one you’ve got now? I’d want to be relatively certain that my backup wouldn’t be all dried out before I even got to it!

      • It’s sealed pretty well! And I can see going through a few of the colours by summer I think! I’m going to get it I think. I have to!

  • Excuse me while I wipe the drool off my chin (and keyboard)… Wowies, this is so pretty!

  • fashable

I loved this cheek and lip palette and i so want it…

  • Lily

I was going to say, hey! One palette of cream blushes and you’re set for life… but lets be real. That ain’t gonna happen. LOL 🙂

  • I’m crossing all fingers and toes this palette is released in Australia very soon as I’ve been intrigued ever since I first saw it. I say you should get a backup or at the very least buy backups of favourite shades in the palette!!!

    • If you don’t get it, let me know! I’ll get one for you my friend you know that! I think I’m gonna get one…it’s just something I LOVE so much right now…and can’t see myself unloving it!

      • Guess what! Literally minutes before you replied to my comment a work buddy and I put in a double order on the Sephora US site (she has a parcel forwarding setup)!!! I’m super excited at the prospect too. Trust me – if that hadn’t already happened I’d be jumping at your offer!

      • Yay!! I’m glad! You will love it!

  • No backups.. I feel the pain on that one. I had a few fun items and things I enjoyed so I bought 2 or 3, then I got swamped in the free product tsunami from PR’s.. it’s so hard to use anything up now so forget about buying backups! By the time something’s half empty there’s an alternative already on the way. CRAZY! I had to toss a few items already cause they were sitting there for 3 years in my backup drawer..

    • LOL!! Hahaha skincare is a bugger when you blog I agree…I have SO much to go through right now…but this palette? UGGH. I think I need a back up! It’s just something I adore to no end!

  • The left and middle rows are right up my alley! I’ve never bought (or needed) a backup of anything either, but then again, brands always seem to discontinue the awesome products, so maybe you should get this one! The only thing is, if it’s unopened, how long will it last for? Will it last long enough for you to get to it?
