Live Clean Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying Shampoo

I’ve been colouring my hair since I was 17. Yup. That means on January 18th it’ll be 31-THIRTY ONE YEARS of colouring my hair! That’s insane. Mind you, for the past 3 years, I haven’t really coloured by hair. The crazy colours I use are actually vegetable based stains-they don’t lift hair at all, just deposit the pink, purple, green on my hair. But my stylist does still occasionally lift my hair with a bit of developer, as there’s still some colour in my hair. Not completely grey yet I guess! Although, when Marky saw me in December for the first time in a couple of months, she was shocked at how white my hair had become. Ghost Tracy haha!

I prefer sulfate-free shampoos and conditioners for my hair as you know, and swear by the Aveeno Pure Renewal Shampoo. But sometimes, I feel like my hair needs a bit more of a squeaky clean feeling, ya know what I mean? Especially right before I get my hair crazy coloured. I like there to be no residue at all from any styling products. But most clarifying shampoos are HARSH sister. Like WHOA.

Not this one!

Live Clean Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying Shampoo is a gentle SULFATE-FREE daily shampoo for oily hair, and a weekly deep cleanser to clarify all hair types! YAY!! SULPHATE-FREE people! That’s amazing because I don’t think there’s ever been one before?? Live Clean Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying Finishing Rinse is made with real Bragg’s Apple Cider Vinegar. It’s formulated to gently condition and restore moisture and shine while helping to remove any dulling residue on your hair.

Live Clean Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying Shampoo

Live Clean Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying Shampoo($6.99) smells exactly like a fresh red apple too! SO nice. It lathers up well for a sulphate-free shampoo, but the best part is how light and clean your hair feels after using it! It’s a healthier and more natural alternative to other clarifying shampoos. Live Clean Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying Shampoo cleans your hair and removes excess build up and grease without stripping the hair of its natural oils. If I had oily hair? I’d use this every day. But, since I don’t-I use it once a week to deep cleanse my hair. And boy! What a difference this shampoo makes! Styling products work so much better now! And of course, I use this the night before I get my hair dyed too so that it’s my hair that’s getting the colour deposited, not the film of styling goop that’s covering each strand. Great stuff! There’s also a conditioning rinse available, but I haven’t been using that so I don’t think it’s a necessary item. Unless of course, you have oily hair and intend on using Live Clean Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying Shampoo every time you wash your hair. If so, the conditioner would be a must.

You can find Live Clean Apple Cider Vinegar Clarifying Shampoo at Shopper’s Drug Mart and Walmart.

Live Clean? Is a drugstore brand you GOTTA start paying attention to I’m telling ya’! They are becoming something fierce of a company with some amazing products! A brand that’s outdoing everyone at the drugstore right now! If they ever decide to do a natural line of makeup-OH BOY. LOOK OUT.

Do you use a clarifying shampoo?

  • Liz

I don’t think that I’ve ever used a clarifying shampoo before, nor have I tried anything from this brand. I’ll scope it out. How do you find this on the scalp?

    • Not drying on the scalp at all! But I only use it once a week. You’ll notice your hair styling products will work better if you clarify!

  • Oh awesome, I wonder if I’ll be able to find this here! I use stains on my hair as well and it’s always better to use a good clarifying shampoo first.

  • Ooh, glad this has worked so well for you! I’m currently using the Monoi conditioner from this brand and it’s also very nice 🙂

  • Hey Tracy, I don’t think I’ve used a clarifying shampoo for a long time! Glad to hear this one is sulphate-free AND gentle! And apples… hmm 🙂

  • Oooh, this sounds perfect! Sometimes I want to have that clean feeling, too, but some of them are super angry feeling, lol! I’m going to look for this the next time I’m at target.

  • This one sounds awesome!
I try to use clarifying shampoo at least once a week to rid of build-ups, but as you said, it is generally too much for my hair.
I really like the bottle, too. How cute is that! 😉

  • This sounds like my kind of shampoo! I’m a big fan of clarifying shampoo and use it once a week to remove any styling residue weighing down my fine hair and get that really deep clean! It’s pretty difficult to find a good clarifying shampoo down here as drugstore brands don’t generally include them in their ranges so I have to go with salon brands and pay extra $$$.

    • Yeah, this one I like better than those, as it doesn’t leave your hair squeaky lol! But it feels better-lighter and cleaner!

  • Lady I am SOLD on this. I use Aveda’s Brilliant line regularly, and the build up gets crazy. I’ve been looking for something to use here and there to clarify. Off to Rexall I go!

  • If you like these vinegar rinses, I know Furterer does one and I just ordered a bottle for myself. Drop the chemicals and the simple formula’s usually give better results I find.

    • I’d love to try Furterer but I have to see if I can order it from some place. Nobody sells it in store which is a real bummer. They have some to help with hair loss, right? That’s what I actually really need right now.

      • I know we have it at Farmaline but look around a bit 😉 You mean their forticea range yes.

  • Lily

I never really coloured my hair. But I see a few grey hairs here and there, and soon, I might have to colour my hair to cover those grey ones >_<

    • LOL, hahaha I did that for the longest time my friend. I’m so glad I don’t have to anymore!

  • Eugenia

Lil Sis, this sounds exactly like what I’ve been looking for! As you know, my hair is colour processed a really light shade of blonde and while I baby it like crazy (moisturizer-fiend), every so often I want to get rid of all the build-up (for the record, I only use shampoo, conditioner and a leave in oil, usually organ-based – no other styling product touches my hair. EVER.) The only other clarifying shampoo I tried, left my hair feeling worse than straw and I had to double up on conditioner just to make it manageable again – talk about defeating the purpose. A week ago, I bought a body wash from this brand, and it was instant love – which makes me convinced I’ll like this clarifying shampoo too!

    • This will be love for you then Big Sis! No straw I promise! Even Marky loved it and as you know she colours her hair bright red. This brand is HIGH on my list for drugstore faves now! Lemme know how you like it!

  • Toya

I actually wouldn’t mind this at all – I don’t think I’ve ever owned a clarifying shampoo because my hair is so dry, but I like the idea of a natural one that kind of really gets rid of all the product buildup without being too harsh.

And – GHOST TRACY haha love it 😉

    • LOL the front of my hair is looking pretty white these days!
And yes! I have dry hair too, but this one doesn’t make it feel all straw-like. Just lighter and cleaner! I think you’d like it!

  • Your hair’s in great shape for 31 years of dyeing! I recently used Bragg’s organic ACV in a hair mask recipe and it dried my hair out like nobody’s business! I’ll probably steer clear of this shampoo, but it sounds like a winner for anyone in need of clarifying power. I’ve just started using ACV on my face and after a week, I’m already seeing reducing break outs. YAY for ACV! 🙂

  • dowantmakeup

Oooo I like this! I need a clarifying shampoo once in a while because my hair is flat as it is without being weighed down by residual product, but hate how sulfate shampoo can worsen my dry scalp.
Also I love the idea of Ghost Pirate Cap’n Tracy! You are awesome at rocking your natural hair colour!

    • LOL thanks Petey! GHOST PIRATE ME hahaha! I’m so white now! It’s kinda’ scary! But thanks-sometimes I think it’s so aging! But then again, I got carded for a beer at Disneyland on the weekend LOL.
You’ll love this! It’s really amazing how well it works!
