Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette #746 Golden Shock -Dior Golden Shock Holiday 2014 Collection

Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette #746 Golden Shock ($61) is the second eyeshadow palette in the Dior Golden Shock Holiday 2014 Collection, and it’s just as stunning as the Golden Reflections Palette.

Pretty, huh? This is a warm palette, so for those of you that love warm, golden shadows this one’s for you! The eyeshadows are pretty easy to work with, blend beautifully, and last all day over a primer.

Swatchy Time!

Yeah, that purple shadow surprised me too! It’s more of a wine shade, which is a bit harder to wear, at least for me. It’s ok used sparingly like in the outer V, but don’t try it on your bottom lash line. On me, it really looks like my eyes are bleeding if I do that, and the same if I use it as a lid shade. If you are darker and warmer skin-toned than I am, I think it’ll look fine though. The light pink shade is a pale, warm matte pink with gold glitter thrown in there. I’d much rather it have been straight up matte, but it’s a pretty brow bone highlight. The shade that’s the stand out for me is that fourth shade I swatched, which is the bottom left one in the palette. It is stunning! A warm gold shade with a pink subtle duo chrome quality.

Can you see what I’m talking about? I hope so! It’s really pretty, and I have nothing like it in my stash. It’s like a warm version of MAC Vex eyeshadow and looks amazing on the lid. It really glows!

Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette #746 Golden Shock is another pretty palette from the Dior Golden Shock Holiday Collection, and it’ll be available at The Bay here in Canada pretty soon! This week I think! So if you have your eye on this one, I’d be getting it toot sweet!

Which of the Dior Golden Shock Palettes do you like better? Golden Shock? Or yesterday’s Golden Reflections? I prefer the greyer, cooler, metallic Golden Reflections.

*products sent by PR for review, thoughts are mine as always!

  • These are so my colors, that plum, that rose gold. It will be hard to resist. I was considering the other palette but my choice can change anytime 😉 Love that close up of the rose gold shae swatch and your eye looks as always.

    • Thanks Sara! Yeah, I thought of you for sure when I tried it! It’s a you palette for sure!

  • Oh I definitely like this one more! Warmer eyeshadows are just easier for me to wear, and looook at that rose gold!

  • Lily

After comparing the swatches, I definitely prefer this one 🙂 I think it looks gorgeous on you too!

  • More Dior, moaaaaaaar Diooooooooaaaarghrhrhrlll… Sorry, kind of got lost in the moment there. You’re right, this is another lovely palette, pretty!

  • Pretty, but nothing is calling to me. I’ve become resistant to that Siren song…HAHAHAHA. Enjoy CA Tracy!

  • Liz

Nah, I prefer the other one. Purple and gold is always a great combination but not as interesting, even with that rose gold in the mix.

  • Eugenia

Thank God I don’t have to choose – since I already have them – cause you make both look so good, Lil Sis! I love burgundy/wine/plum shades on me, really makes my green eyes stand out and I think this colour will look equally amazing on your stunning peepers!

  • Toya

This is pretty too! That pinky-gold shade is gorgeous. However, I think I prefer yesterday’s as well, if I had to pick. I think you wear both very well though, Tracy! They had them in stock at Shopppers yesterday but no testers so I gotta wait (urgh!) – just want to be sure.

  • Oh the wine colour is beautiful on you! Hhmmm…I like both palettes a lot. Must. Decide…

    • Hahahaha, it’s ok in small bits! Otherwise I swear my eye looks like it’s bleeding!

  • I’ll have to go read the Golden Reflections post next! I’ve decided that gold eyeshadow makes me look like an utter doofus, so this palette would be a skip for me. I used to wear gold shadow all the time, but lately it’s just looking borderline hideous, lol!

    • You and me both! I can’t wear gold, but if it’s a white gold or pink gold, I can get away with it. Silver is my metal!

  • Ooh, these gold and purple tones were made for you, Tracy!

  • This is really soft and pretty!!
I am drawn to softer shades with warmth lately. Reddish brown is still a no-no, but warmer purple, yes!
I’ve decided not to buy any more eyeshadow palette this year, but now I’m not so sure. Maybe I’ll buy one on January 1st 2015. (yes!) ;D

    • Hahahaha, shadow ban hey? Yeah, I haven’t bought any for awhile too. Since my eyes are so sensitive I’ve been not using them all that much either. Good luck haha!

  • OMG! Want!!!

  • YES to all of these things. This palette is so pretty, dude!

  • Oh no..I love warm palettes and I’ve held back from any Dior eyeshadow palettes because of their formula. But I love all the colours in this…I guess it’s time to go to the counter and swatch…

    • This new formula makes them a bit better! I used to hate their shadows, but now they’re kind of nice!
