Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat

There’s really not much that I can say about Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes that you probably haven’t already heard. You all know that they combine Hourglass’s Ambient Lighting Powders with blush shades to give a radiant, natural finish. It’s been almost a year since they were released, and I finally decided to give one a try!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat is described as a poppy blush combined with the ambient lighting powder Diffused Light.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat is a really, pigmented coral blush! You can see the sparkle that Diffused Light adds to the bright coral shade in the swatch.

I do like the blush a lot! The powder is finely milled and blends seamlessly onto the cheeks and gives a pretty glow that’s not too overboard. It’s hard to believe that it’s a powder because it really does melt right into the skin. And it does last all day long too.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat is a little too pigmented for me though! That is the tamed down picture up there, plus it was taken in cooler light. I took my Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Heat(which is great for under the eyes to set concealer btw since it’s yellow) and dusted it over my cheeks to calm down the colour. Hourglass actually even recommends that you do that. Really pigmented blushes are hard to wear when you are fair, because you can’t really build up the colour like other people can. When I first applied Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat to my cheeks, I applied way too much. But with that overzealous application and in the sunlight, it actually looked more orange on me which was kinda’ cool. Take a look!

Alas, I can’t walk around like that though haha! Give me a few years until I’m old and wheeling around the nursing home, THEN it’ll be ok LOL. Plus I’m not a huge fan of orange blushes now, as they are kind of hard to wear with my grey hair.  “Way to clashy” as Marky used to tell me. And no, it’s not because of the pink lipstick I’m wearing. I did try it with coral lipstick too, and it still didn’t suit me. Most of my orange blushes I passed on to Marky because they really look good on her. Orange blush and red hair are a match made in blush heaven! Grey and pink hair-not so much. 😛

I think I might actually pick up the Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette when it becomes available again, as I think the shades in that one would work better for me and my grey hair. The shades in there look more peachy pink, which is the best shade of blush for me anyways. I’m also thinking of trying the Ethereal Pink one, since most people found that one way too pale for them. I think it would be perfect for me haha!

I know you all probably have one of these by now! Which is your favourite?

*product sent by PR for review, thoughts and orange clashing are mine!

  • I thought about buying the palette, too, since they’re smaller blushes, but then I thought…MORE MUFE INSTEAD MUAHAHAHA.

    • LOL I got you hooked, hey? Hahaha, yeah I’m all set with those though since I have a shade in every colour family now! Man I love those blushes! But I’d like a cooler toned one with these, just to see!

  • Eugenia

Lil Sis, your hair’s gotten so long! Love it!

I have Luminous Flush and love how it looks on me too – which makes me wonder why I don’t wear it more often, lol! I’m also thinking of picking up the new palette when it launches but I may want to see it in person before ordering online.

    • Aww, thanks! Yeah it’s long LOL. I usually wear it in a ponytail though because it’s just easier haha! And I straightened one day here to test out some hair stuffs. That makes it look longer too! I bet luminous flush looks great on you!

  • WHOA did your hair grow that fast?

I like this one, and it’s the only one I have! I do still want the palette though. Great idea on wearing the powders to tone it down. The effect is really nice on your first photo. 🙂

    • LOL I haven’t had it cut since January! So yeah. I think it’s because I don’t really do any heat styling. That’s the secret I think. Plus I straightened here to test out other hair stuffs. It’s shorter looking when I air dry it. Curls do that!
Thanks! Yeah, the powder OVER makes a diff I think. But I think I’ll get the palette for sure! I need paler shades anyways!

  • Hey Tracy, I actually love you with over-applied blush LOL But OK, I can see why you don’t want to walk around like that all day! I HAVEN’T tried any of these, if you can believe it! I might totally get the palette when it becomes available here tho!

    • Hahaha thanks Sunny! 😀 Maybe I should start a new trend hey HAHA!
Yeah, I think the palette is the way to go too!

  • So happy to see your faaaaa-aaaaace! Love the eye makeup. I have a Tarina Tarantino palette that needs breaking in and it has a purple similar to the shade you’re wearing. I ordered the HG palette. And haven’t played yet. O.O

  • Mmm I got this one too! Glad you like it and it looks lovely on you! I’m going to take your tip and make sure I use a light hand or it might be Oompa Loompa city for me. I’m thinking about the Christmas palette but the darker shade in there does throw me for a loop.

    • Everybody l likes that one go figure! i don’t know, must look totally different on the skin I guess!

  • I actually think it looks quite pretty on you! Sure, it’s a bit intense, but they shade looks gorgeous! I actually don’t have any Hourglass Ambient anything, believe it or not 🙂 I’ll be checking out the palette for sure!

    • Thanks Marianna! I feel it’s too orange. I find it hard to wear any other makeup with it. The palette looks lovely and more wearable!

  • SOOOOO PRETTY! How do you make it look so easy! And I’m loving your hair so much!

    • Thanks! But I’m getting it done soon! It’s a pain in the ass truth be told and pony tails are the norm now.

  • Hello, Stunner!

Love it, its is a gorgeous colour! I definitely want to get the trio of blushes from Hourglass. I had a bad experience with them initially, so I never paid much attention, but now they have the BLUSHES. And I’ll have to give you 3 decades until I send you off to the nursing home to wheel around haha

    • LOL hahahaha Shivani! I <3 you.
LOL hahahaha 30 years dude. I'll be 77. FOR SURE I'll be there. WEARING BLUSH.

  • GET THE PALETTE! It contains Mood Exposure, which is one of my HG blushes! I also have this one, AKA the “Bacon blush” as Liz called it, but Mood Exposure is my fave. I really like this one on you, and GURL – look how long your hair is!! Wow! It’s beautiful!

  • You can def pull off any blush colour beautifully! I so want to get the palette of these too, got the lighting palette, and love that one to bits.

  • UGH dude you look like a freakin’ unicorn. Extreme jealousy.

(PS I hope you’re doing ok without Marky around to critique your makeup choices! :P) <3 <3

    • LOL. Wait. I”m getting my hair done and my stylist has VISIONS of aqua LOL.
Sort of. I MISS her. Nobody to tell me; NO MUM. We should meet a Southgate sometime so I can mom you to death LOL.

  • Lily

I actually really really like the second photo where you applied too much. I thought it was more interesting than “just another pink”…

  • I love the second pic! the blush looks really pretty on your complexion, love the whole look

  • I love this on you, Tracy! Overly pigmented blushes are never a problem for me- but then again, I do go crazy with blush every now and then 😉 Diffused Heat is one of my faves!

  • I do not care for any ambient product from the brand, so I am not going to buy it no matter how gorgeous it looks on you Tracy. :p
I love how you paired purple makeup with coral cheeks. That is what I do when I try to pull off warmer blush color although it never looks half as good as it looks on you. ;o

    • Yeah, I’m not a huge fan either, but these are nice! For a powder blush they really look like cream on the cheeks!
And thanks! It’s colour theory and I’m glad you pointed it out! And it DOES look good on you too!

  • I don’t have one yet–I am still deciding on a color because I only plan on getting one. I love your shirt in these pics, btw, it is a really fun look overall 🙂

  • LOL! Thanks! ME TOO.

  • They are worth a try for sure!

  • Liz

Forget the blush – what’s that on your lips??? I loved this one after trying it but weirdly haven’t been reaching for it. Blush A.D.D.
