There’s really not much that I can say about Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes that you probably haven’t already heard. You all know that they combine Hourglass’s Ambient Lighting Powders with blush shades to give a radiant, natural finish. It’s been almost a year since they were released, and I finally decided to give one a try!
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat is described as a poppy blush combined with the ambient lighting powder Diffused Light.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat is a really, pigmented coral blush! You can see the sparkle that Diffused Light adds to the bright coral shade in the swatch.
I do like the blush a lot! The powder is finely milled and blends seamlessly onto the cheeks and gives a pretty glow that’s not too overboard. It’s hard to believe that it’s a powder because it really does melt right into the skin. And it does last all day long too.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat is a little too pigmented for me though! That is the tamed down picture up there, plus it was taken in cooler light. I took my Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Heat(which is great for under the eyes to set concealer btw since it’s yellow) and dusted it over my cheeks to calm down the colour. Hourglass actually even recommends that you do that. Really pigmented blushes are hard to wear when you are fair, because you can’t really build up the colour like other people can. When I first applied Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Diffused Heat to my cheeks, I applied way too much. But with that overzealous application and in the sunlight, it actually looked more orange on me which was kinda’ cool. Take a look!
Alas, I can’t walk around like that though haha! Give me a few years until I’m old and wheeling around the nursing home, THEN it’ll be ok LOL. Plus I’m not a huge fan of orange blushes now, as they are kind of hard to wear with my grey hair. “Way to clashy” as Marky used to tell me. And no, it’s not because of the pink lipstick I’m wearing. I did try it with coral lipstick too, and it still didn’t suit me. Most of my orange blushes I passed on to Marky because they really look good on her. Orange blush and red hair are a match made in blush heaven! Grey and pink hair-not so much. 😛
I think I might actually pick up the Hourglass Ambient Blush Palette when it becomes available again, as I think the shades in that one would work better for me and my grey hair. The shades in there look more peachy pink, which is the best shade of blush for me anyways. I’m also thinking of trying the Ethereal Pink one, since most people found that one way too pale for them. I think it would be perfect for me haha!
I know you all probably have one of these by now! Which is your favourite?
