The Autumn Tag! And My Burberry Mini Review Too!

So, I need to do something simple and fun to get me back into the blogging mode. I’ve taken pics of most of the things that came in the mail whilst I was gone, but I need some time to play with it all! I need to ease back into a routine again. On the road for 3 weeks was something else-if we weren’t driving some place, we were doing things Lori (sorry -Walking Dead reference there and OMG so excited for that to start again), like mostly buying things for Marky haha. It’s amazing all the stuff a kid needs when they move out! It was a great trip though. Lots of good laughs, good food, and quality time with her, which is what we wanted.

Autumn Tag, here we go! I was tagged by the lovely Marianna of Impression BlendI love her blog and her YT videos too! She’s one of my faves that’s for sure. She’s gorgeous and even does book reviews too. Make sure you visit and say hi!

OK, we’re talking coffees – what’s your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks or another coffee shop?

You know, I do love me a Pumpkin Spice Latte. I really do. But to be honest, once fall comes around? THE TEA COMES OUT BABY.

And these are my new faves. My good friend Monique had a Steeped Tea party at her house and I went Earl Grey nuts LOL. I love Earl Grey Tea, just like my fave Captain of The Enterprise, Jean Luc Picard: EARL GREY TEA, HOT. And call an Earl Grey tea London Mist? It’s MINE hahaha. It’s SO GOOD. Tea lattes in the fall are yummy! And Harney & Sons Paris Tea is also an Earl Grey, but with black currant and vanilla aromas and a hint of caramel. That one is a staple for me once fall comes around.

Accessories – what do you opt for: scarf, boots, or gloves?

I love them all when the weather turns cold, but boots are my true loves come cold weather! Here are a few of my faves I’m looking forward to wearing soon!

It’s going to be still warm here this week in Edmonton believe it or not! Daily highs of 21C, so by no means cold yet. But by next week I’m pretty sure I’ll be wearing boots every time I leave the house, especially my olive green Frye cowboy boots! How much more Albertan can I get, hey?

Music – what’s your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
I don’t really have favourite seasonal music??? Is there really such a thing?  But if I think about it,  I guess I enjoy instrumental music once the weather cools. Thanks to my good friend Larie @EyeHearIt, I love listening to the Howl’s Moving Castle Soundtrack a lot! Please listen to it! It’s AMAZING.

Perfume – what’s your favorite scent for this time of year?

My Burberry .jpg

My Burberry

Right now I’m REALLY loving the new My Burberry Fragrance that came out  in early September while I was away. My Burberry is supposed to smell like a London garden after a rain shower, and also it’s meant to evoke the emotional attachment a woman feels towards her favourite trench. I WISH I could afford a Burberry Trench coat. ONE DAY. And Imma’ get the SPIKEY one too. And I’ll be attached to it I tell ya’, that’s for dang sure. Until then, I can wear My Burberry and pretend I own one, right? RIGHT.

Top notes: sweet peas, bergamot
Middle Notes: golden quince, freesia, geranium leaves
Base Notes: patchouli, Damascus rose, Centifolia rose

It’s wonderful! My Burberry is so warm and floral, yet has a bit of spice to it too. On me, I don’t really get any of the fruity quince notes, but all the warm florals just blossom and make me feel comforted and grounded. Safe. And home, ya’ know? My Burberry is definitely a nesting fragrance to get you ready for spending time indoors, because the cold-SHE’S A COMIN’ FOLKS! I happen to be a fan of all of Burberry’s fragrances because I think they really do evoke the London life which I oh so desire! And this one doesn’t disappoint. Check it out!

Candles – what scents will you be burning this season?

Being on the road for the past 3 weeks, I haven’t stepped into Bath & Body Works to check out the fall candles yet. It’s on my list to do that’s for sure! But I also have a stash of my favourite candle from last year, so that’s what I’ve been burning since coming home.

It’s smoky, and smells like you’re taking a walk on a cool, fall day. I hope they have something similar this year!

What do you love most about Autumn?

The cold haha! I am not a fan of summer at all. I hate it. I love wearing sweaters, boots, walking in the cold, crisp air, eating fresh, crisp apples and PEARS! What’s better than biting into a ripe, juicy pear? I used to share a pear with baby Marky-it was ADORABLE. I’d take a bite, and then 4-toothed Marky would take a gnaw at it-MAN, I wish I had video to show you the cuteness! Sigh. Can you tell I miss her? 😀 If I could live in a place that had permanent fall, I’d be in heaven. Heaven better be fall, or I’m turning in my “catholic by marriage card” right now I tell ya’. 😉

Favorite makeup look?

You know me, I don’t really have a favourite seasonal makeup look. I wears what I likes and likes what I wears-that’s my makeup motto. Saying that, I do think I’ll be wearing more jewel tones on my eyes this fall! Especially now that I FINALLY found an eye makeup remover that doesn’t bother my sensitive eyes at all! Wahoo! I’ll be sharing that soon too, I promise.

What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?

There’s a Community Rec Centre opening up in our neighbourhood REAL soon and I can hardly wait! Both Terry and I want to get a gym membership to it and get back into working out, like we used to before Marky came. I also want to get a keyboard so I can play piano again! And, we’re going to visit Marky at college for Parent’s Weekend in October too. SO EXCITED to hug her again I can’t even tell you. 😀

I tag my darlin’ Kristen of Glambunctious, my good friend Michelle of Lipstick Rules, the dashing Em of Beauty By Em, the lovely Angela(Pirate Petey) of Do Want Makeup, gorgeous Emma of Fluff And Fripperies, and the lovely Kelly of Glitter Diaries! And any of you who feel like doing the tag too!

I so miss my Marky. So, so much. Watching her walk away, leaving her there-was the the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my entire 47 years of life. I swear. Everything else was a fuckin’ picnic up until then Boo Boo Bear. But she texts me all the time, showing me her beautiful drawings, asking advice, telling me the goings on of her it’s almost like she’s here. Almost…but not quite… 🙁

  • Aww so sorry to hear you’re still sad about Marky being gone! I hope you’ll feel OK soon!

I’ve got to try My Burberry soon. A nesting fragrance sounds GOOD 🙂

  • Excuse me? What did you say? Seriously, Tracy, WHAT. DID. YOU. SAY?! You HATE summer? Tsshhh… *looks away in disappointment*

Well, enjoy autumn then, girl! 🙂 Maybe if I get myself a candle like the one you have, eat a few pears and dig up all my jewel tone eyeshadows I’ll start accepting that it’s almost fall too 😉

  • THOSE GREEN FRYE BOOTS. I WANT. I want a pair of Frye boots!

  • Guppy

Seasonal Drink – Starbucks Chai Latte. Still on the hunt for a spicier one!
Accessories – I have a ton of scarves I use and a few pairs of combat boots but my hands start freezing off in October so I always carry gloves.
Music – sad to say I have been drifting away from music lately. Whatever’s playing on the radio seems adequate….
Perfume – CK Euphoria or Thierry Muglers Womanity.
    Candles – Cranberry or vanilla.
Autumn – I love walking on a sunny, windy day when you can crunch through piles of leaves.
Makeup look – basic browns, gold – neutrals.
Looking forward to – school starting? My kidlet is ‘still’ at home due to the ongoing strike in BC.

My Burberry sounds great! I have a bottle of Body and I quite like it. Not too sweet on me and not too heavy either. Love those boots especially them green ones!

  • A sample of My Burberry is in the mail. Now I’m even more excited! 😉
I hope you feel better soon Tracy, although there is no feeling “better” about it. I guess you get used to it and establish something better out of it. It is very sweet that you guys are in close touch, though. Sometimes we get closer to each other when apart. *hugs*

    welcome home, Tracy!
    I love your green boots!
Favorite seasonal drink?I don’t have one…i like it when PSL comes out, but i never drink them…guess its because it just means its FALL TIME! 🙂
Favorite music in autumn? n/a altho right at this moment im listening to Jeff Buckley’s rendition of “hallelujah”
candles? mmm! definitely BBW’s “autumn” and “Trick or treat” <3
what i love most about autumn? all of it! tid bits off the top of my head, besides a love of the cooler temps, the richness of all the colors of the leaves, the fruit crops, the baking, and for me, its a season of contemplation and peace (counter to the getting geared up for back to school, etc).
favorite makeup look? the ones that im pleased with for the day 🙂
looking forward to most in autumn? the leaves changing, baking, halloween candy, and the halloween card parade that i do with my bestie. also, holiday launch information starts coming out too.
*hugs* and flowers* for having to let Marky go :*( we took down my son's crib several weeks ago and the last baby thing to come out of his room is the nursing chair. i was gonna do it today, but i didn't.

  • i love that you love boots b/c i love boots to but what i don’t love is no one makes boots for my wide feet :(!!! i’ve been wearing the one pair i’ve both like..6 years ago b/c they’re the only ones that really fit right. and they are FALLING APART…

i’m going to hunt for some new ones. really i should have bought like 5 of those…

  • Aww, thank you so much, Tracy! 😀
I’m so glad you did this tag! Look at that collection of boots—I am impressed and I just realized I need to go shopping. I remember Autumn Day from last year and I was really hoping they would bring it back this year, but they didn’t. Sad 🙁
So exciting you will start playing piano again. I’ve been thinking about that too—I think the fall brings the piano music out. Maybe that’s our seasonal music? haha

    • Thanks for tagging me lovely!
I love my boots! Can hardly wait to wear them!
And maybe that’s is our fall music! Piano!

  • Toya

I LOVE those boots up there, Tracy! Awesome selection. They still have those Autumn Day candles at B&BW…I checked out some of the new scents a few weeks ago but wasn’t really turned on by any of them. I don’t like them too sugary and cinnamony, you know?

    But DAMN I love fall!!!! 😀 😀 😀

  • Aw, I’m so sorry, Tracy! My heart breaks reading about how much you miss her! I wish so much there was something we could do to help. At least Parents’ Weekend is in October and then there’ll be Turkey Time and next, Christmas break! A 3 week road trip sounds amazing, and what a special thing to do right before she started college. I wish my family had done that! What an amazing memory!
Thank you so much for tagging me, sweet styles! Also, I need ALL of your boots immediately. Let me know if you need my mailing address. 😉 LOL! Love you!

  • PS: My gawd how could I leave out my props for Rick’s infamous Stuff n’ Thangs line from TWD!!! You are my queen!

  • Liz

Aw, that Marky story about gnawing on pears is too cute. I’ve been feeding my nephew peeled grapes and his mini bites with the itty bitty teeth are so adorable, I can’t stand it.

I have this Doc Marten lemming that came out of nowhere this week. I’ve been looking for good comfortable flat leather boots that aren’t too cowboy or too biker and they are impossible to find.
