It feels like I’ve been on a never-ending quest to find a cream eyeshadow that will last on my dastardly oily lids for YEARS. And technically, I guess Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eye Shadow Rio De Rose Gold($23) isn’t really a cream eyeshadow. It’s a liquid. But it’s a fast and easy eyeshadow look, so for me it might as well be a cream eyeshadow. And besides, I’m tired of looking! So screw the cream eyeshadow quest. I am hereby abandoning it and waving my white flag, because this stuff is AMAZING.
I first saw Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eye Shadow reviewed by my friend Margo and I’m so glad I did! It’s a bi-phase, liquid eye shadow that has two layers. Argan-infused gorgeous metallic pigments are suspended in a layer of coconut water. Not only is this budge-proof and crease-proof, but also hydrating for your lids! NEAT. Sometimes I wonder if oily lids are a symptom that the eyelid skin is dehydrated? Hmmmmm.
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eye Shadow is SO, so easy to use. You just shake it, shake it, shake it, and dab the liquid shadow on your lids with the doe-foot applicator. You can use a brush then to blend, but honestly I found my finger worked the best. It blends out really nicely with fingers!
It dries fairly fast too, leaving a high metallic finish that doesn’t flake, crease, or budge. AT ALL.
Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Eye Shadow lasts ALL DAY LONG on my oilier that oily lids. It’s pretty much perfect for me! And I really adore this Rose Gold shade as it makes my blue eyes even bluer! I would love to get another shade, but honestly I’m getting so much use from this one, so I’m in no hurry. This is the perfect summer eyeshadow in my opinion; shade-wise and formula too!
Now I’m really curious about the Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelées! I’ve never been all that interested in getting one, but now? Maybe I need to try one! Have you tried one and like it?
