L’Oreal BB Cream Review: Magic Anti-Redness Skin Beautifier

When a product claims to be “anti-redness” my reaction is RIGHT. SURE. These green color correctors NEVER work well. And sometimes they even leave you looking like that green alien chick Kirk had a thing for. And unless young Captain Kirk is lurking around, I don’t like looking green. To quote my favorite Muppet: It’s not easy being green, ya’ know? So, I hope you can appreciate my lack of enthusiasm when L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness showed up for me to test out.

Loreal BB Cream

I am ASTOUNDED that I like L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness as much as I do! Although, I’m not sure why L’Oreal Paris decided to call it a BB Cream, as it’s more of a color corrector, which to me means CC Cream? But it does offer some light coverage, so I guess BB Cream is correct?

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness swatches yummy minty green! My favorite spring shade! But it has some flecks of color adjusting pigments that adapt to your skin tone needs when you blend it in.

Sort of. I do think it’s a tad on the orange side, which scared the BEJEEZUS outta me. I was pretty darn sure there was NO WAY L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness was going to work for me.

Sigh. If I only had a nickel for every time I thought that. I’d be a freakin’ millionaire by now. But this time? This is a perfect instance of when ONE PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS.

Ok, but I do have a few words to say hahaha! I have a lot of redness in my face, even though I do have yellow tones. I use a lot of anti-aging skincare which contributes to the redness, plus my skin is extra-sensitive. I’m one of those people you touch and I’m RED for a week.

I have a glass of wine? RED CHEEKS. Oh, oh! And when I exercise? I turn so, SO red. When I used to belong to a gym, it would really freak out people. They’d constantly ask me if I was ok, and I’d have to reassure them-YEAH, I’m FINE.

It got annoying, so that’s one of the reasons I exercise on my own now. I got tired of people thinking I was going to keel over any minute!

I don’t have a lot of wrinkles, and my hyperpigmentation keeps getting better and better and non-existent thanks to sunscreen Vichy ProEVEN, and some new Vitamin C that I’ve added to my skincare.

A little concealer and MAC Mineralized SkinFinish Natural in Medium is all I used over top of the L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness. And blush. ALWAYS blush.

And YES, I know my neck is still pale in comparison. But all I need is a bit of bronzer and BAZINGA! it would look fine. I actually have this problem with most of my foundations, so I use Guerlain Terracotta Spray SPF 10 bronzer on my neck to make it match better. I HAVE A BIG HEAD OK. My neck NEVER sees the sun LOL!

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness is kind of runny, so be careful when you squirt some out. It’s got silicones, sigh, but they aren’t too heavy that I get all jumpy about it.

They don’t make L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness feel heavy and suffocating, so my acne-prone sensitive skin seems to tolerate it well, YAY! It dries down matte and almost powdery, which is perfect for the summer. I get about 8 hours of wear before it starts to disappear, which is all I personally need when it comes to wearing time. A primer might prolong that wear for you.

Actually, I think L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness would make a dandy primer! For me, it would be too much. I like light coverage, but if you are a full coverage kinda’ gal, then this would be a great primer if you have redness. It does a good job of filling in pores and wrinkles because of a few silicones in it.

Truth be told, it feels a lot like the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer that a lot of people love. So, if that’s something you like or have wanted to try, then give this a shot! It’s a lot cheaper that’s for dang sure!

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness is part of the L’Oreal Paris Fall Collection, which is supposed to be out in stores in June sometime. FALL? NOW? Cripes. Gimme a chance to feel the sun, will ya’? All it takes is about 5 minutes of above 25C though, and I’m ready for fall truth to be told hahaha!

So? Whaddaya think? Are you as surprised as I am? And do you use color correctors? I think they are one product that truthfully should be left to the Pros, but something like this? Changes my mind a bit. Although, I do think that a lot of people would walk around with pale necks like I’ve shown and not fix it with a bronzer(Trust me, I DO fix mine, I just wanted to show the product in all its realness).
