New! L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness is Magic!

When a product claims to be “anti-redness” my reaction is RIGHT. SURE. These green colour correctors NEVER work well. And sometimes they even leave you looking like that green alien chick Kirk had a thing for. And unless young Captain Kirk is lurking around Edmonton, I don’t like looking green. To quote my favourite Muppet: It’s not easy being green, ya’ know? So, I hope you can appreciate my lack of enthusiasm when L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness($16.99) showed up for me to test out.

New! L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness

I am ASTOUNDED that I like L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness as much as I do! Although, I’m not sure why L’Oreal Paris decided to call it a BB Cream, as it’s more of a colour corrector, which to me means CC Cream? But it does offer some light coverage, so I guess BB Cream is correct? Arrgh, these alphabet creams are going to be the death of me I swear…

Swatchy Time!

New! L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness swatches yummy minty green! My favourite spring shade! But it has some flecks of colour adjusting pigments that adapt to your skin tone needs when you blend it in. Sort of. I do think it’s a tad on the orange side, which scared the BEJEEZUS outta me. I was pretty darn sure there was NO WAY L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness was going to work for me.

Sigh. If I only had a nickel for every time I thought that. I’d be a freakin’ millionaire by now. But this time? This is a perfect instance of when ONE PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS.

Ok, but I do have a few words to say hahaha! I have a lot of redness in my face, even though I do have yellow tones. I use a lot of anti-aging skincare which contributes to the redness, plus my skin is extra-sensitive. I’m one of those people you touch and I’m RED for a week. I have a glass of wine? RED CHEEKS. Oh, oh! And when I exercise? I turn so, SO red. When I used to belong to a gym, it would really freak out people. They’d constantly ask me if I was ok, and I’d have to reassure them-YEAH, I’m FINE. It got annoying, so that’s one of the reasons I exercise on my own now. I got tired of people thinking I was going to keel over any minute!

Anyways, here’s my red face before. Besides the redness, I’m actually quite happy with my skin at the moment. I don’t have a lot of wrinkles, and my hyper pigmentation keeps getting better and better and non existent thanks to sunscreen and Vichy ProEVEN, and some new Vitamin C that I’ve added to my skincare.

And here’s what the L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness does for me!

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness AFTER

Are you KIDDING ME? Are you SERIOUSLY KIDDING ME??? Yeah, I know it’s too dark for me, and my neck doesn’t match, but that stark orange colour really did a number on the redness, hey? I can’t believe it! I’ve never had a product make my skin look so evenly toned! Ok, time for more makeup!

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness After, with MAC Mineralized SkinFinish Natural in Medium applied over top

A little concealer and MAC Mineralized SkinFinish Natural in Medium is all I used over top of the L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness. And blush. ALWAYS blush. And YES, I know my neck is still pale in comparison. But all I need is a bit of bronzer and BAZINGA! it would look fine. I actually have this problem with most of my foundations, so I use Guerlain Terracotta Spray SPF 10 bronzer on my neck to make it match better. I HAVE A BIG HEAD OK. My neck NEVER sees the sun LOL!

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness is kind of runny, so be careful when you squirt some out. It’s got silicones, sigh, but they aren’t too heavy that I get all jumpy about it. They don’t make L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness feel heavy and suffocating, so my acne-prone sensitive skin seems to tolerate it well, YAY! It dries down matte and almost powdery, which is perfect for the summer. I get about 8 hours of wear before it starts to disappear, which is all I personally need when it comes to wear time. A primer might prolong that wear for you. Actually, I think L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness would make a dandy primer! For me, it would be too much. I like light coverage, but if you are a full coverage kinda’ gal, then this would be a great primer if you have redness. It does a good job of filling in pores and wrinkles because of the bit of silicones in it. Truth be told, it feels a lot like the Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer that a lot of people love. So, if that’s something you like, or have wanted to try, then give this a shot! It’s a lot cheaper that’s for dang sure!

L’Oreal Paris Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream Anti-Redness is part of the L’Oreal Paris Fall Collection, which is supposed to be out in stores in June sometime. FALL? NOW? Cripes. Gimme a chance to feel the sun, will  ya’? All it takes is about 5 minutes of above 25C though, and I’m ready for fall truth be told hahaha!

So? Whaddaya think? Are you as surprised as I am? And do you use colour correctors? I think they are one product that truthfully should be left to the Pros, but something like this? Changes my mind a bit. Although, I do think that lot of people would walk around with pale necks like I’ve shown and not fix it with a bronzer(Trust me, I DO fix mine, I just wanted to show the product in all its realness).

*product sent by PR for review, thoughts, even the crazy ones are mine as always! 😀

  • SO surprised! You look great! Nothing some bronzer on the neck can’t fix. 😉

I got the “Anti-Fatigue” version, which looks like the version for medium to dark skin tones. It’s orange, too, but it brightens nicely kinda like the Garnier transformer thingie from a few months back. 🙂

    • Awww, thanks Geekz! I agree, all I need is some bronzer on the neck.

I got that one too, and you are right! It’s way more orange. I might give it a go and see what happens, but I think it’ll be even darker than this hahaha.

  • mrmonkeybottoms

You look beautiful! I love seeing a product do what it claims

  • I think it should be a CC, too, lol. Which means I can like it! I tend to like CC creams a lot, actually, because what I really want is that skintone-evening effect. I like it! Maybe a little bit orange, as you said, but I like it, still.

    • Hahaha, I’m starting to warm up to them now! I see the point! I think I’m going to get the Clinique one now!

  • BooBooNinja

Woo hoo! This might be the complexion-evener I didn’t know I wanted but now I want it because it’s gonna make my skin look amazing and wow oh wow it makes your skin look purty but you always look purty and and and anddd I need to stop ignoring all punctuation rules and stop to breathe… … … and, here is $0.05.

  • Oh I hope this is not one of those million things that are just avail in Canada?! ;D
Color correcting could be a such smart thing to do since it evens and conceals with just a right amount of coverage! I’d say this product works really great on you. Thanks for the before and after pics! 🙂

    • Thanks! I think it should be everywhere! I just wish it was a little paler and then it’d be perfect for me!

  • Liz

LOL I lose respect for anyone whose neck doesn’t match their face when it comes to makeuppy things. Some people naturally have different colours, which is really difficult when foundation shopping! So, I didn’t know that this turns colour. Did you ever try the Pixi Anti-Redness Primer? That’s green and cancels out the red nicely with a subtle blurring action.

    • I’ve been this way my whole life and it it is difficult. My neck is so pale, but to cancel out the red you need a good strong yellow base. It’s one of the reasons I prefer powders over liquids.
Meh, I’m not a fan of a primer before my foundation anyways. I’d rather it be something like this personally. Too many layers of makeup on my face and I break out.

  • This works so amazing! I mean the before and after is crazy! I will be picking this up for my mom because she has lots of redness, so thanks for the review!

  • WOAH!!!!! That final pic really is perfection! Hope this is gonna be available in my country soon! I too suffer from the red face + pale neck issue that makes foundation matching a bitch. I’ve gone as far as applying pink toned primers on my neck sometimes.

    • Thanks! It’s horrible, hey? They tried to match me in Sephora with their new scanner thing and HAHAHAHA it just didn’t work for me. I have to pick something darker to cover redness usually, but my neck it would NEVER match.

  • Efrain

My friend I don’t see the neck difference in the final result photo, one shade fits all promise *sigh* it’s too dark for you and it’s too light for people like me.

    • It’s not too big of a difference in the last photo, but you can still see my neck is lighter and I’d need to bronze it up. It is shade adjusting though, so I think it WOULD actually turn a shade to match you!

      • Efrain

I forgot to reply >.<, but I actually would like to see if it turns into a match; I think in Mexico we have the European version/packaging as it's named as a CC cream I'll try to look at it.

  • Maggie

  • WOW this does look like magic!! I always breeze right on by primers (all the good ones seem to have ‘cones), but this one looks AMAZING!

    • Neat, huh? Stil has cones SIGH, but not SO bad. Just one breakout to pay for wearing it today LOL!

  • BAZINGA! lol I need this. I think we’re similar in skin shade and I also have a crazy amount of redness. Why Fall though, already? IT JUST GOT WARM!

    • HAHA! I’m NC or NW 15 in MAC if that helps ya out. I’m neutral-I can play for both sides LOL. Just depends if I want more yellow to tone the red down or not.
I KNOW, sheesh, hey? It’s the first day of summer TOMORROW!!!

  • Veronica Urban

I am absolutely recommending this product to my mom. She has the same difficulty: she doesn’t drink wine or eat spicy food or workout in public anymore because of what she calls “dragon-face.” I’m going to make her over so beautifully she will cry.

    • She sounds like me then for sure! Dragon-face haha I like that! I hope she likes it and you are such a good daughter for helping her out! Let me know how it goes!

Thank you so much for this review! The only other reviews I’ve found for this product were done by people who don’t have redness issues. ….. which does me no good. You look great! Thanks again!
