I have a guest post for you all today by my good friend and fellow beauty blogger Lena from LENALLURE. She got to experience a haircut at the Patrick Melville Salon in NYC-one of my dreams! Read on to see her gorgeous result!
When Tracy of Beauty Reflections Blog asked me if I would be interested in experiencing the Patrick Melville Salon in NYC, I couldn’t have been happier!
Apparently, this generous of a lady is an Aveeno ambassador and thought of me when she got this gift!
Patrick Melville Salon is a well-known high-end salon in New York City and it is constantly in the buzz about their amazing service and celebrity clientele.
I have medium-thick healthy asian hair that is long and slightly curly, which is quite easy to take care of. This is probably why I don’t like to blow dry my hair or use hair products too much. Plus, I have zero skill to make my hair look nicer. I just shampoo and condition my hair, let it air dry then use a blow drier for two minutes. Although it is a very low maintenance, I need a GOOD haircut every 6 weeks. You can say I am pretty picky about my haircuts.
Patrick Melville Salon is conveniently located in the Rockefeller Plaza which is only 15 minutes from where I live.
The salon entrance is warm and bright, and it seems they carry various professional hair care products as well as their own salon blends.
I actually had to cancel my appointment twice prior to my visit due to my last minute work, but everything was taken care of professionally in pleasant manners. There are veteran hair stylists and colorists available according to your needs.
I decided to get my haircut with Masami.
I did not expect this, but I also had a pleasure meeting Mr. Melville himself. Very pleasant and handsome gentleman. 🙂
Masami carefully studied my hair style and texture and he asked how I wanted my haircut to be.
I loved this! Surprisingly it is very rare to meet a hairstylist who tries to understand what clients really want.
We both agreed to keep the current length and style yet to make it look more blended and cleaner, which was exactly what I was looking for! Shampoo was done by Christopher who used the natural shampoo blended by the salon. It was a thorough and relaxing one and he even gave me a mini massage before my haircut.
It was quite early in the day but the salon was already running busy.
The whole atmosphere is bright and upbeat yet very professional. Masami was a perfectionist and so meticulous with each strand, and the finished look was nothing short of perfection.
He gave me a classic wet cut followed by blow dry and dry cut with texturizing, which is the only way to ensure my hair looks good until the next cut.
I have already shared this picture on instagram.
You see? A good haircut is happiness.
For a celebrated NYC salon, I thought the price was quite reasonable especially when I consider the level of service I received and the long lasting result.
It is a little more than I would normally pay for my haircut, but I will visit this salon again for sure.
I think I was even happier about this whole experience because it was a present from a genuine blogofriend. 🙂
I sincerely thank Tracy as well as the Aveeno team who sponsored this opportunity.
