I can’t really explain myself for this purchase. I’ll try to, but I can’t justify it is what I’m trying to say.
It was basically an I SAW IT I SWATCHED IT I WANT IT moment. Ever have one of those? That’s what happened when I touched the Laura Mercier Enlightenment Eye And Cheek Palette($70 CDN):
Holy crap, is that what I paid for this??? I seriously had no idea. I was in a trance I SWEAR! Not sure if it’s really worth that much, but OK? In my defense, Laura Mercier, or Laura (said with an English accent) as us fans like to call her-adore her products. We truly do. It has way less flops (AHEM BOBBI BROWN) and way more WINS when you start tallying up stuffs. My other reason for this unjustified purchase is that I had not set foot into an actual Sephora since November. NOVEMBER PEOPLE. That’s a personal record in case you were wondering. So, that means I was weak. But I don’t care. I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.
SEE IT? I died. Marky was with me and when I swatched, even she gasped and said-WOW THAT’S LIKE MADE FOR YOU MOM. True story folks. For someone that decided light and bright looks was the way to go, this palette fits that description to a T.
SWATCHY TIME for Eye Colours in Angelic, Grace, Pure Glow, Innocence:
SEE?? So pretty!! UGGH. Shiny. Brightening! HELLO MADE FOR ME? Why yes it is Tracy! But wait-have you seen ze blushes yet? You are a blush fiend, non? (that’s the palette talking to me in my head as I swatched it, in case you wondering if I’ve lost my mind, which of course the answer to that is YES, YEARS AGO):
BLUSH SWATCHY TIME for Cheek Colours in Blushing, Awakening:
The perfect coral, the perfect highlighting coral-I WAS DONE. AND DONE after those swatches. The Laura Mercier Palette was paid for right there and then: WHAM BAM THANK YOU LAURA M’AM.
LOOKY Time! In all truth, these might be a bit boring for you, but for me? PERFECTION. These are exactly the kind of eyeshadow looks I go for lately. Sorry for the different lighting too, but one day there was sun, and the next NONE. Gotta love winter lighting!
The shadows are shimmery yes, but that’s why they are so brightening. If I was going to complain, I guess I’d have to say I wish there was one matte eyeshadow shade in the palette. But to be honest I have PLENTY of matte crease shadows to last me a couple of life times. And then some. So, no biggy for me. Truth be told, lately I always start any eye look with a matte, neutral eye crease colour before I go in and add any other eye shadows. It helps with any blending I have to do, and is just a good habit to get into. Do it. You’ll love me for the rest of my life, and I like that idea! [emoji kissing face with smiling eyes]
Is the Laura Mercier Enlightenment Eye and Cheek Palette worth the money? For me yes. I could live off of this palette plus one neutral crease shade for the rest of my life. And the blushes? Perfect and sheer, finely milled, blend so easily-I could be done and live happily ever makeup after AMEN. And truth be told, I’m seriously considering that. I need to get rid of a lot of excess in my life, and a good place to start is the makeups, right? RIGHT. Soon, oh so soon…
The Laura Mercier Enlightenment Eye and Cheek Palette is available now at your local Sephora, and of course online as well! If you love light and bright eye looks, I think you’ll love this palette too!
Ever just swatch something and buy it on the spot too? What was it?
