I REALLY want to go back to Paris. REALLY REALLY.
Until then, I’ve decided to wear Paris. Pink In Paris!
When I saw YSL Rouge Volputé Shine Pink In Paris($39 CDN) while browsing the HBC Beauty section online(did you know you can now order Chanel Beauty products from them too?), I had to get it. The name Pink In Paris sounded perfect to me! Plus, you know what? This is my first YSL Rouge Volputé Shine Lipstick. I’ve tried the lip balmy ones, but not one of these babies!
YSL Rouge Volputé Shine Pink In Paris swatches more of a rosy coral than pink, doesn’t it? It’s nice, but not something I’d describe as Pink in Paris, ya know? But once I put it on my lips THAT’S when I saw the pink!
I’m not complaining at all, because I MUCH prefer this pinky coral shade! Oh, this is the lipstick I was wearing in yesterday’s post about the Lancome Pink Ballerine blush in case you were wondering!
Like most pinky corals, YSL Rouge Volputé Shine Pink In Paris will look more pink or coral depending on the light, your skin tone, and even the blush you wear. I find if I pair this with a more peachy blush, the peach tones become more prominent. As for the formula, I LOVE it. It goes on really shiny and has great pigmentation for a sheerer lipstick. The shine does dry down after about an hour. I wouldn’t call it extremely moisturizing, because as it dries down it does feel a bit tacky to me. But that makes the colour last longer, as it wore a good 3 hours for me which is kind of outstanding for a sheer lipstick.
Will I get more YSL Rouge Volputé Shines? Maybe. The price is pretty $$$ for a lipstick. When I buy a more expensive lipstick for the first time, I rarely jump to go get more of them right away. I like to see if I reach for it and wear it enough to justify the price. If I do, then sure-I’ll pick up another if the shade speaks to me.
Do you have any YSL Rouge Volputé Shines and love them? What shades are your favourites?
Who wants to come to Paris with me?
