New! Vichy LiftActiv Advanced Concentrate

Aging. Our skin changes SO much as we age-thinning of the epidermis, a gradual decrease in collage and elastin fibres, and the most depressing one of all: our skin’s natural production of hyaluronic acid slows down. All of these changes make us look older.   [emoji grimacing face]

But what if we could reverse these changes?

After 11 years of research, Vichy introduces their solution:

Vichy LiftActiv Advanced Concentrate!

Vichy LiftActiv Advanced Concentrate

Vichy LiftActiv Advanced Concentrate has an exclusive combo of:

Retinol 0.2 %: the highest in any Vichy product ever. It’ll smooth and fill wrinkles.

Hyaluronic Acid: to fill wrinkles, plump and deeply hydrate skin

LR2412: reactivates hyauranosomes(where hyaluronic acid is made), filling in the deepest of wrinkles

SCIENCE-Y TIME!  [emoji microscope]

Together these three ingredients act on two different levels of the skin: epidermis and dermis for a complete anti-aging action. The epidermis will thicken, and hyaluronic acid will plump up our skin. Retinol will speed up exfoliation and smoother skin is the result. The dermis is where our fibre network is and that’s like the support or girdle of our faces. When it starts to break down, we lose firmness and start to wrinkle. Retinol and LR2412 reactivate the protein that blocks the breaking down process, preserving our collagen matrix.

I don’t know about you, but the one type of wrinkle that scares me the most is the vertical kind-you know, the #11s or frown lines, nasolabial folds, those straight up and down ones that start to form around the mouth. But the WORST are the ones that appear on the corners of the mouth making you look like you have permanent sad clown face. WHO WANTS THAT?

Vichy LiftActiv Advanced Concentrate

Vichy LiftActiv Advanced Concentrate is lightweight and absorbs quickly. It has a slight floral fragrance, but nothing overpowering and that scent dissipates quickly. It feels nice, and is not greasy at all.

My skin LOVES Vichy LiftActiv Advanced Concentrate. I’ve been using it at night, but you can use it during the day as well. It layers well with other products too. If you have a more liquidy serum (like say the Vichy LiftActiv 10) then use that first and then this. Or use this, and then another moisturizer on top(my choice is the Vichy ProEven Moisturizer-review on THAT coming soon) and you’re good to go.

When I first use something with retinol, my skin purges a bit and that did happen this time as well. But after 2 weeks that settled down, and now 3 weeks in I can already see smoother skin! I was starting to notice those sad clown mouth lines, but now-I don’t see them as much! I’m a  HAPPY clown again haha! I’ve finally found a retinol skincare product I can tolerate AND see some positive changes in my face. And that’s something!

I know this-I’m going to Shoppers Drug Mart today to get a few staples that I’m out of, and I’m picking up another bottle of Vichy LiftActiv Advanced Concentrate for sure. Can’t be without it now! It retails for $49.50 CDN by the way and that’s a pretty affordable price for a decent retinol skincare product.

Do you use retinol in your skincare? How about something with hyaluronic acid? Both of those are really important and should be in your anti-aging arsenal!

I don’t use anything with retinol but love hyaluronic acid. It’s what saved my skin last winter and prevented it from flaking etc this year! I really want to try some vichy, perhaps idealia range.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

I like Idealia too! It’s more superficial though. This works for realz!

  • I swear by retinol and it’s family! They really make difference to boost up firmness. I notice my lower part of face looks sallow and less plump. So sad but I have to deal with it. My next regimen definitely will be something with retinol. I will consider this. The tube looks handsome! 😉

    • TracyBeautyReflections

It does you are right! Retinol works.
      It is handsome haha!

  • I need to start with the anti-aging things, but there are so many rules T_T Can’t use this with this, can’t use this in the daytime (unless you live in a cave), etc. etc. BAH.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

YUP you do! I know, it’s silly. I just combine a bunch of serums in my hand and apply-and don’t worry about it LOL.

  • Liz

I feel like I’m forever in that purge stage with this product – glad there are improvements by week 3! If mine doesn’t work, you can have it, lol.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

It’s horrible at first I know. Keep plugging. It’ll stop!

  • Lily

Sigh… if only ageing stops if we stop thinking about it. HAHAHAHA!!!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      LOL I KNOW!!

  • OMG I don’t want a clown mouth!!!!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      NOPE YOU DON’T!

  • you crack me up, lol. this post was so much fun to read!! I only use sunscreen and retinol (2 times a week) for anti aging and face oils. works for me really well but we will see how the result will turn out in 10 years, haha

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Hahaha that’s pretty good for now! But yeah, once you get up there, 2X a week won’t be enough!

  • I love Vichy. I see the beginnings of the 11s AGGHHH! I will definitely be trying this out.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      Hope you love it!

  • Meredith Karcher

Happy clown? Girl, you’re no clown. I like this product in combination with the Idealia serum. I think used every day, it reduces the APPEARANCE of fine lines, but if I were to stop using, they would probably come right on back. I do experience ‘purges’ such as yours when using retinols but didn’t seem to have that with this product. Hmmmm. Great review!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

LOL thanks Meredith but seriously, one side is drooping already. I agree. Yeah, retinols and me don’t get along very well which is annoying. I’ve given up on them to be honest. Maybe in my 50s(which is 3 years away LOL) I’ll be able to use them! But this stuff I LOVE. On my second bottle now!
