New! Mary Kay skinvigorate Cleansing Brush

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!! I hope you are having a wonderful day filled with lots of good food, family, friends and pumpkin pie!

Just a quicky post about something new from Mary Kay I wanted to share with you. They’ve just introduced the new Mary Kay skinvigorate Cleansing Brush($60 CDN):

The Mary Kay skinvigorate Cleansing Brush removes makeup 85% better than cleansing by hand.  It also allows your skin care products to absorb better and more quickly, and helps maximize the benefits of your skincare products.

It comes with 2 brush heads which is great since Mary Kay does recommend replacing the brush head every 3 months. It’s battery operated, and is waterproof as well(just don’t submerge it under water, so no dropping it in the bath tub yo!).

It’s a bit smaller than the Clarisonic and LIGHTER. Also, the brush heads are A LOT softer. I think a lot of people(like myself) have stopped using the Clarisonic because all of their brush heads are just too much for their skin. So much so, that when I was in California last week, I noticed that Clarisonic has come out with a new brush head that I think was called cashmere or something that’s supposed to be a heck of a lot softer.

The other thing that I really like about the Mary Kay skinvigorate Cleansing Brush is that it has two speeds so you can customize your cleansing experience to suit your skin. I think the big regular Clarisonic has that option as well, but the Mias(which most people have because it’s so much cheaper) don’t.

I have a Clarisonic, but haven’t been using it for over a year now. It’s just too rough on my face. The Mary Kay skinvigorate is a bit gentler, but again it’s something I don’t use every day as I find my skin doesn’t like being agitated so much on a daily basis. I’m kind of old-fashioned and like using a wash cloth to be honest! But if you’ve been thinking about getting a cleansing brush to amp up your cleansing routine, then take a peek at this one! It would make a great gift too!

Do you use a Clarisonic or another cleansing brush? Do you find it makes a difference in your skin?

  • Hey Tracy, I have a Mia but I only use it once or twice a week! Like yours, my skin doesn’t really appreciate getting “agitated” that way. I have basically given up on physical scrubs and opted for chemical peels for that reason!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Yeah, I just can’t anymore. It hurts!
I like my Tata Harper mask to exfoliate and it works really well!

  • Liz

Oh, interesting! I already have a Clarisonic Mia and don’t use it as much anymore either. Also finding that the bristles feel more harsh now that I’m not as oily. Not sure I like the battery component of this device but it’s definitely a money saver compared to the Clarisonic!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Yeah, see that’s what happens! My dry skin can’t handle any of the Clarisonic brushes now.

  • i have a mia 2 and i use it only in the shower for occasional exfoliation. it works great combined with gentle enzyme cleanser like dermalogica microfoliant and i don’t really have the sensitivity problem, but i do find it too big and heavy.
this mary kay one looks sleek! i’d agree it will make a nice gift. 🙂

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Yeah that’s where I use my Clarisonic is in the shower, but I use it on my arms now, not the face. But the new brush head they have intrigues me-to a point, because this one is nice and soft!

  • I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! I have a Clarisonic, and I like it a lot. This Mary Kay version sounds pretty nice too though!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

It’s really great for the price!
Thanks but Canadian Thanksgiving was in October actually, but it sure feels like we we should have a holiday right now too since our sales are about the same!

  • Sara Hawkins

I use this twice a week. I find any more than that is too much for my face as well.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing too and it’s fine that way!
