The Shu Uemura Eye-Conic Tri-Color Blending Eyeshadows($42 CDN) are the last part of the 30th Anniversary Collection I’ve been showing you over the weekend and I have two shades to show you today, Yellow Brown and Purple:
I just love the 60s fashion print look to them! They’re so GROOVY MAN. 💃 There are 3 other shades, but these are the safest of the bunch to wear. There’s a green blue one that I’m eyeing next though, as it’s really got that 60s vibe, and you know how much I love me some baby blue eyeshadow! Remember, most Shu Uemura makeup products are sold as refills, so you have to buy a case to house your pretties like the Limited Edition Eye-Conic one I showed you here, or use your own palette system. It’s up to you!
Each combination of colours in the Shu Uemura Eye-Conic Tri-Color Blending Eyeshadows consists of 2 main colours and 1 glitter accent colour. The strips are a little on the small side, but I had no problem using my MAC 239 or 217 to pick up the colours.
The eyeshadows are pretty typical Shu Uemura for me-soft, blend like a dream and just pigmented enough. The glittery shade is pretty fall out prone, but here’s a little secret I’ve discovered that helps with that problem: just tap a bit of an eye primer like the Nars SmudgeProof Eye-Primer OVER your eyeshadow(just a bit) and THEN apply some of the glitter shade with your finger. Your finger works better than a brush to pick up the glitter shade-trust me. Do that and your glitter will stay put I promise! For me the glitter effect is totally worth it-take a look at the dimension the glitter adds to the Purple eyeshadow look:
See? That sparkle is just SO DARN PRETTY.
Here’s the Yellow Brown Palette on my eyes, this time with the glitter just in the inner corner:
Pretty, huh? If you still haven’t tried Shu Uemura Eyeshadows yet, this would be a good time to do so, especially if you’re a 60s loving mod makeup junkie!
The Shu Uemura Eye-Conic Tri-Color Blending Eyeshadows are limited edition, but are still available to order online, and are still available at Shu counters at Holt Renfrew, and select Sephora and Bay stores too! Hurry before they’re gone!
