L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift CC Cream Review

L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift CC Cream
is out in most stores right now, but I haven’t seen anybody (at least here in Canada) review it yet, so I thought I’d be the brave one and tell you whether this is worth getting or not!

L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift CC Cream Review

Hmmmmmmmmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.  Well, let’s start with what it’s SUPPOSED to do.

According to L’Oreal Paris and taken from the website:

L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift Color & Correct Cream, is the next generation of multi-tasking beauty: color and tone correction in one multi-action makeup. This weightless, nourishing formula intensely hydrates skin without feeling heavy or greasy. It contains sheer color capsules to correct and even skin tone for a brighter complexion, plus it’s infused with Vitamin C & Calcium for visibly age-correction actions:
1. Reduces the look of dark spots
2. Evens and corrects skin tone
3. Brightens complexion
4. Nourishes skin
5. Protects with SPF 20

L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift CC Cream is a white cream with little colour capsules that smoosh open as you blend it out. It comes in two shades-Light/Medium and Medium/Dark.

L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift CC Cream Light/Medium

As far as coverage? NONE. NADA. ZIP. Hardly any pigment at all-at least none that makes a difference. Just a a lot of glow. Like A LOT of glow. I did try to take a before and after, but there was no difference to show you so I didn’t bother. No redness correction, no even skin tone-nothing. Brightens complexion? Sure, I guess that’s the glow factor they’re talking about there in my arm swatch. It’s pretty moisturizing though and it does have SPF 20, so there’s that it’ll give you. But it feels rather sunscreen-y on the face if you know what I mean-you know like something is ON your face? Sitting on top and not really sinking in? I don’t get it. At $18.99 CDN a tube(only $12.99 in the USA AND WHAT THE HECK IS UP WITH THAT L’OREAL? $6 MORE? WHY?), you can get cheaper and better sunscreens than this that’s for sure. Oh and it has a scent too, that totally reminds me of OFF! Actually a lot of things lately have been reminding me of that smell-aren’t you lucky you’re not of the DEET Generation like me? I’m pretty sure I’ve been exposed to more DEET than most having grown up in Winnipeg. Mosquitoes are like the provincial bird  of Manitoba I swear. Anybody else out there remember when they’d spray for mosquitoes in the 80s? Ever get caught outdoors when they’d be gassing the neighbourhoods with DEET? I have, numerous times and it’s probably why I’m a little nutty! Just a little hahaha!

You’d have to have a pretty flawless complexion that’s on the dry side to make L’Oreal Paris Visible Lift CC Cream work for you. I guess you could use it under your regular foundation, but  SPF 20 isn’t a high enough sunscreen factor I’d recommend to use for everyday anyways. As far as the other anti-ageing claims, I can’t say whether they’re true or not as I haven’t used it long enough and probably won’t see those benefits since I’m not a fan of the way it feels on my skin.

My verdict? Just say no to this one and keep walking on by, unless you are looking for barely there coverage, have dry skin and are HOPING this will lighten some pigmentation spots for you. A much better option is the L’Oreal Youth Code BB Cream Illuminator -that one I really like! Sorry L’Oreal!

I was at the drugstore yesterday, and noticed that Marcelle had a DD Cream out. Sigh. It’s never gonna end, is it?  Do ya think there’ll be EE, FF, GG, HH…ZZ creams someday? ZZ creams will give you long, LONG beards and make you a sharp-dressed man HAHAHAHA. See that’s the DEET talking there. 🙂

*product sent by the lovely L’OREAL PR, and hopefully she still loves me still. 🙂

Hmm, remember Cutter? That was poison and I don’t mean Dior’s! Even that didn’t work on me, our mosquitoes where so voracious, not only wanted to fly away with our BBQ steaks but hubby had to hold me down so they would leave me behind! This just reminded me of black flyes! Argh!!! Those little @¢¤+&$%!!! Thanks for the review, good to know this one is not worth a 2nd look.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      Yes I remember that stuff!
Yikes black flies! Little bastards those things!

  • Omg cracking up. Now I’m humming ‘Sharp-dressed man’ to myself. Yeah, will definitely pass on this. What’s up with that insane price jump!?

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      LOL hahaha!
      Right? I can understand $2, but $6?

  • Hey Tracy, I’m so sorry to hear this doesn’t work for you! I’ve only tried the CC cream from Omorovicza. It’d be going pretty far to say I can’t live without it, but it makes a great brightening primer! Are we on DD creams now? Companies should really stop doing this!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Hahaha, yeah the only CC cream that I’ve tried and liked is the IT Cosmetics one so far! This one does nothing.

  • Haha oh dear. I hope we don’t make it to ZZ creams! Sheesh. Unless they’re for zombies 😛

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Hahaha Zombie’s gotta looks good too!

  • Liz

You know how I feel about CC creams and L’Oreal mark-ups in Canada. I’d rather spent the money on skin care products with proven track record. Next!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      Right? Talk about INSANE mark-up!

  • Emma Bovary

Love the honest review, I’m sure the PR will appreciate that (and you are always honest, so it won’t come as a surprise!) I like the sound of the Youth Code BB cream, a friend of mine adores the Youth Code line so that is a good sign. Every CC cream I’ve tried is far too dark for me, but BB Creams are beginning to get better for me and I’m finding some I really like 🙂

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      Let’s hope so LOL!
The Youth Code line is awesome. THe BB Cream doesn’t have a lot of coverage, but BOY does it ever give a magical ethereal look to the skin and it does even out skin tone a bit. I love it and use it a lot!

  • Sara Hawkins

DEET, awww I have a love hate relationship with that smell, It always reminded me of camping which I loved but it also reminded of all the flybites I used to get which I hated. I love the comments about the ZZ creams 🙂

    • TracyBeautyReflections

🙂 It is kind of a memory jogger of a smell, hey? It reminds me totally of being young and camping too!

  • Lily

Lol! Sure this is a negative review but so funny 🙂

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      Thanks Lily! 🙂

  • GOSH can I just thank you for not skirting the issue and sugarcoating the words. Respect.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Thanks Shivani! I wasn’t going to review it and just ignore it, but then that’s wrong too. My job is to help everyone out, and I don’t want anyone spending $18.99 on something that doesn’t do anything. I appreciate your sentiment a lot! Hopefully PRs aren’t scared of me now haha!

      • There are going to products that are duds and some that are great which won’t work for everyone. Good PR will understand that. Honestly, I get amazed when people sugarcoat every bad thing – while you’d definitely not want to hurt the company you are working with, you do have an obligation to not mislead people. And yes, I am so over the ridiculous markups for Canadians. Just support Canadian companies – at least they provide jobs for our economy.

      • TracyBeautyReflections

Truth Shivani! It’s a fine line, but sometimes you gotta cross it I say. RIGHT? I can understand a couple of dollars, but $6? That’s just ROBBERY man!

  • They can’t all be winners, I guess. Thanks for your honesty!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      True dat!

  • Thanks for your (funny) honesty! It’s weird how L’Oréal has been getting all of their CC creams wrong.. The green and orange ones were absolutely horrible too! I hope they come out with something perfect soon 🙂

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Awwww, thanks Isabelle! Phew! I thought you’d be upset with me so thanks so much for that! I hope they do too because we know they can do it! Everything else I’ve been trying is Grade A goodness! Like I said, the Youth Code BB Cream is much better and I totally recommend that one! I don’t think I’ve reviewed it, so I will now to show everyone what a great product that one is! HUGS!

  • Gaelle

Shame about that one. I’ve been sucked in the whole BB/CC cream thing and have only liked 2 out of the god knows how many I tried and it’s because they’re good tinted moisturisers, nothing BB/CC qbout them!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Same here. Most of them are just meh! This one is just…bad…no other words!

  • bought the DD cream to try out 🙂 couldn’t resist the super green shiny packaging…

    • TracyBeautyReflections

LOL LOL ok you gotta let me know!

  • Maggie

I might be the wrong skintype for this one, but it basically just looked and felt like a slightly tinted sunscreen to me – and not the new, silky-textured kind. Meh.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Hahaha yeah I agree! A really thick one. Almost grainy too!

  • OMG! Your last line about ZZ creams!! I’m cracking UP!!!!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

  • MC

I bought the light/medium CC Cream and it did absolutely nothing. No coverage whatsoever. I had been using the light BB Cream which actually provides some coverage. I am truly disappointed with this CC Cream. I had to put my regular foundation over top. Now the CC Cream has become more of a moisturizer. What a waste of money 🙁 and so, I continue my quest for a suitable CC Cream

    • TracyBeautyReflections

So sorry you were disappointed! But so was I. I’ve actually just recently tried a CC cream from GOSH that’s really nice! My review will be up soon!

      • MC

I look forward to reading your review on the GOSH CC cream
