Why I Bought Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush

I wasn’t going to get Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush. I thought the colour wasn’t all that unique to be honest. BUT, after swatching it in the store I fell in love with the finish of it, which I’ll explain later.

I then hesitated in reviewing Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush because there’s so many mixed reviews around, and the majority of people seem to be rather disappointed in it. I didn’t even take a “before-using-it” pristine condition pic with my Canon, just with my iPhone on my Instagram (and follow me too!)if you want to take a look there.

Even though I’ve used it every day for the past week, it still looks pretty new! The little pearly dots disappear after a few swipes and you’re left with just the 4 shades of blush-a fuchsia pink, a pale pink, a bright coral and a beigey coral. Now, I’m not going to swatch each shade for you because seriously, I don’t see the point in that? It’s not like you’re going to be able to use each shade on it’s own anyways. I swirled a brush into the 4 shades and that’s the swatchy you get with me:

Now, you CAN make Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush more pink if you swirl a bit more in the raspberry, or more coral if you stay up in the top shades. I find it’s like most Guerlain powders-powdery and even kicks up a bit, yet blends beautifully and can easily be built up in colour. Oh, and it has that Guerlain violet smell too-as Marky calls it-the HAPPY BLUSH smell haha! Now, some people have complained of the hard texture, that it’s hard to pick up pigment to swatch. Again-I don’t really get the point of that because you don’t use your fingers to apply the blush, ya’ know? I have no problem in picking up colour onto my brush and getting it onto my CHEEKZ, where it matters. Yup. That’s my 2 cents on the whole pigmentation issue.

wearing Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush

What I love is that this is a Guerlain blush that is mostly matte-there’s a subtle sheen because some of the shades do have a really light shimmer. Since I’m aging faster and faster as each day passes, mattes and almost mattes like this blush are gonna be where it’s at for me in the very near future! I love the way this bright pink blush looks on me now with my tan, and I know I’ll love it in the winter as well when I’m paler. Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush actually is pretty much the EXACT colour my cheeks flush after I exercise or when exposed to the cold. Lately, I’ve been kind of HATING putting on eyeshadows-loathing it to be honest. Instead I’ve been a true blush fiend and focusing colour on my cheeks with a bright blush like Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush and LOVING it. After all, my cheeks are the first thing people notice about me, so I might as well spotlight them!

I got my Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush at The Bay here in Canada and don’t regret it one bit.

Have you ever loved a product that a lot of people were disappointed in?  What was it?

  • Hey Tracy, oh yaaay I’m glad to hear you love this one! I tried it on yesterday and I made the same observation: I had no problem picking the product up with a brush! I’m glad this blends as easily as it does as well!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Yay! Yeah, I don’t get the whole finger swatching thing for blushes-it’s gotta go on your cheeks with a brush, so that’s what’s important! I can hardly wait to see it on you!

  • Lily

I want this but i know i really shouldn’t, since I’ll be splurging on some skincare later this month. You look like that when your cheeks flush? I wanna be you! After my run, my whole face gets red like beetroot! The entire face! It means you look gorgeous even when you’re all sweaty and flushed. Jealous!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Haha I wasn’t planning on it either, but gahhh-in person it was so pretty!
LOL hahahaha ok red face too hahaha!

  • I LOVE blushes that have multiple colors in them! Especially because sometimes I want my cheeks to be a bit pinker, or mauver, or whatnot. Variety is good!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

I agree! It’s like custom colour!

  • It’s gorgeous on you Tracy! I know what you mean about those seemingly matte blushes that have a glow – they’re my favorite finish!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      Thanks Annick! xo
They are the best kind of blush!

  • Liz

This looks perfect on you! Seeing the pretties in person does all sorts of crazy things sometimes. Well deserved pick-up!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Thanks Liz! I know! Which is why I’m staying away now LOL!

  • neerajnavare

Oh i loved this blush so much…I hope they launch it in India very soon…

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Me too! You will love it!

  • it looks lovely on you!

  • This blush is the reason why I’m avoiding Sephora, Murale, and The Bay! *sigh*

    • TracyBeautyReflections

LOL haha BUT if you buy $70 worth of stuff right now you get $10 off Ashley!

  • Icaria

Oh you naughty girl!!! Isn’t it beautiful, the effect on skin and the smell, my nose is soo happy! I just got it too and loooove it! 🙂

    • TracyBeautyReflections

🙂 Glad you love it too!

  • No regrets! I wouldn’t regret it either, because it looks lovely on those CHEEKZ and is a gorgeous finish, as you said. Keep rocking it!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      LOL haha thanks Margo! xo

  • TracyBeautyReflections

    Thanks Evelyin!

  • TracyBeautyReflections

LOL hahaha thanks Sara! You are such a sweetie haha! Yes, I do think that the pattern is part of the problem so keep at her!

  • Wow, it looks lovely on you. It’s so bright in the pan! I’d be too intimidated to go near it.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Thanks Olgie! Hahaha I’ll have to turn you into a blush fiend some day! 😉

  • JessicaGettingCheeky

That looks so gorgeous on you! I’m just so conflicted (to the point that the question is probably going to be answered for me … by the time I make up my mind the blush will be out of stock!). I love the way it looks, but I have this weird issue with patterns where it’s hard for me to use the product haha. I have Blush G and it seems similar enough that I’m not sure I can justify the purchase … *chews off fingernails in blush purchasing anxiety*

    ♥ Jessica

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Thanks Jessica! Hahaha it’s similar to Blush G which I missed out on, just not as shiny and sparkly and maybe a bit more pink than that one. But honestly if I had Blush G I probably wouldn’t have gotten it!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      LOL LOL

  • Love it! I haven’t read any reviews, if you can believe it, so I’m quite impartial so far. I think it’s absolutely gorgeous when it’s pristine and I love how it looks on you here, so I know it’s going to work for me 🙂 I don’t get people who complain about hard textures either. If it’s an eyeshadow, I can get it because some people use their fingers to apply. If it’s a blush, it’s a moot point. Who uses fingers to apply powder blush?! 😛

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Right? It’s all about the brush and the cheekz in the end!
Yes! It’s gorgeous and will look divine on you if you get it my friend!

  • Sigh, this is another gorgeous WIN from Guerlain! I agree with you – I’m not going to be poking at it with my hands; I’m gonna swirl a brush on it and slam it on my CHEEKZ! I actually like stiffer blushes because they allow me to layer them on to my liking instead of having to barely touch blush to pan and have what appears to be a powder paint explosion on my face! This color looks ridiculously good on you! You are really, really ridiculously good looking!

  • Jenny W

I like the idea of being able to get different tones out of a single blush pan like this. Looks beautiful on you Trace!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Thanks Jenny! Me too-makes it more interesting!

  • convenientbeauty

I have Rouge G blush from 2 years ago. It’s truly stunning but it has some shimmer in it. This blush looks beautiful on you.

  • hmmm i wasn’t really going to go for this but the fact that its ‘mostly matte’ makes it maybe worth looking into. and you’re right, i dont bother using individual sections of blushes, i just swirl it together. who has the time in the morning to perfectly place their brush? its a mad scramble and i’m lucky if my blush doesnt end up on my chin.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

HAHAHAHA man, I just LOVE your comments-they’re the BEST!

      • ! thanks dude 🙂 a little self depreciation always entertains. and now i feel the pressure to perform so expect the next few comments to be disappointingly dull just to temper expectations lol

hey, i’m following you on instagram 🙂 feel free to peruse mine @abeautifulzen

      • TracyBeautyReflections

        LOL hahaha I will!

  • I loved the way it highlighted your cheeks! I avoid trying Guerlain because it’s all pricey and I always end up swiping my card! But this blush just made to my wishlist!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Thanks Maria! I know-they are so $$$, but sometimes it’s worth it!

  • OMG, so pretty! I just want it so I can look at it. That’s normal, right?

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      YUP. TOTALLY. hahahaha

  • Toya

Good for you Tracy – OWN THAT SHIT. I’m glad that you love and are rocking it out, that’s all that matters right!? We never get any of the Guerlain seasonal collections, just the permanent items at our Shoppers, which bites. However, Guerlain has too many smells to their products for my liking so I don’t mind TOO much. This blush does look mighty purty though!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Hahahaha thanks Toya! Yeah I know, ours only get the permanent stuff too but that’s ok with me as I love the permanent stuff!

  • Emma Bovary

So pretty! I wasn’t very taken with the design (I think I have sort of lost my blush buying mojo and keep falling in love with blushes I already own!) I think the swatch is lovely, loving pink blushes lately

    • TracyBeautyReflections

NO! No lost blush mojo LOL! But yeah, I’ve been enjoying mine too-this is the first one I’ve gotten in ages I think!
