I wasn’t going to get Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush. I thought the colour wasn’t all that unique to be honest. BUT, after swatching it in the store I fell in love with the finish of it, which I’ll explain later.
I then hesitated in reviewing Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush because there’s so many mixed reviews around, and the majority of people seem to be rather disappointed in it. I didn’t even take a “before-using-it” pristine condition pic with my Canon, just with my iPhone on my Instagram (and follow me too!)if you want to take a look there.
Even though I’ve used it every day for the past week, it still looks pretty new! The little pearly dots disappear after a few swipes and you’re left with just the 4 shades of blush-a fuchsia pink, a pale pink, a bright coral and a beigey coral. Now, I’m not going to swatch each shade for you because seriously, I don’t see the point in that? It’s not like you’re going to be able to use each shade on it’s own anyways. I swirled a brush into the 4 shades and that’s the swatchy you get with me:
Now, you CAN make Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush more pink if you swirl a bit more in the raspberry, or more coral if you stay up in the top shades. I find it’s like most Guerlain powders-powdery and even kicks up a bit, yet blends beautifully and can easily be built up in colour. Oh, and it has that Guerlain violet smell too-as Marky calls it-the HAPPY BLUSH smell haha! Now, some people have complained of the hard texture, that it’s hard to pick up pigment to swatch. Again-I don’t really get the point of that because you don’t use your fingers to apply the blush, ya’ know? I have no problem in picking up colour onto my brush and getting it onto my CHEEKZ, where it matters. Yup. That’s my 2 cents on the whole pigmentation issue.
What I love is that this is a Guerlain blush that is mostly matte-there’s a subtle sheen because some of the shades do have a really light shimmer. Since I’m aging faster and faster as each day passes, mattes and almost mattes like this blush are gonna be where it’s at for me in the very near future! I love the way this bright pink blush looks on me now with my tan, and I know I’ll love it in the winter as well when I’m paler. Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush actually is pretty much the EXACT colour my cheeks flush after I exercise or when exposed to the cold. Lately, I’ve been kind of HATING putting on eyeshadows-loathing it to be honest. Instead I’ve been a true blush fiend and focusing colour on my cheeks with a bright blush like Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush and LOVING it. After all, my cheeks are the first thing people notice about me, so I might as well spotlight them!
I got my Guerlain Madame Rougit 4 Colours Blush at The Bay here in Canada and don’t regret it one bit.
Have you ever loved a product that a lot of people were disappointed in? What was it?
