New At The Drugstore! Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick…Crayon…

Another day, another lipstick crayon from another brand! This time it’s from Bourjois:

Does that make every brand with a lip crayon thingy yet? SEE what you started Clinique? See?

Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick…Crayon($18 CDN) is supposed to be different from ALL the other lipstick crayon thingys out there, primarily because it’s SUPPOSED to have SPF 15 in it. But I don’t know if these ones in Canada actually have SPF15, because the spot where the SPF is written on is covered by a sliver stripe-see it there under the 10 hour wear claim?

SO. What does that mean??? I think Bourjois sneakily covered the SPF 15 so that they could sell it here in Canada faster. Canada is a real drag when it comes to clearing makeup with SPF for sale, so yeah that’s my theory. I could be wrong, and often am in life, but my beauty blogging senses are tingling folks. Nice job Bourjois! I like the way you work!

Peach At The Beach is the shade I chose because of the name. I like peaches. I like the beach. I like peaches at the beach! It’s such a pretty bright peachy coral!! The formula of Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick…Crayons are really silky smooth and glossy. One swipe gives you a sheer finish, but add a couple of extra swipes and you can build this lippie up in pigmentation really well:

Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick in Peach At The Beach

The glossy formula of Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick makes your lips really glow! Smooth, and not sticky at all, the formula is supposed to be weightless and I say yup! It feels like a really wet and moisturizing lip balm when you first put it on. It’s supposed to be waterproof, but I don’t think so. It couldn’t handle my piece of leftover pizza for lunch, although I could still see a bit of it after I ate to tell you the truth. It does have a bit of a staining effect, so as the glossiness wears off, you are left with some colour on your lips. But the glossy does last a good while though! I get a good 3 hours of wear, and the whole time it feels good on. And the 10 hours of moisture it claims to give is pretty spot on-my lips still feel soft hours later. Oh and these are a twist-up pencil too, so no sharpening needed!

I’m assuming that Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipsticks are pretty much what those Clinique Chubby Sticks are like. Believe it or not, I’ve NEVER tried one of those, because the names are just….blechhhhh. NO LIKEY. I’m sure they’re nice enough and I still think about getting one, but honestly none of the shades really speak to me. But name something Peach At The Beach-I hear it haha!

You can find Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipsticks at your local Shoppers Drug Mart right now! There are 2 other shades to choose from-a bright fuchsia pink and a bright orange!

Whaddaya think of maybe sneaky Bourjois? And does that make every brand with a lip crayon thingy yet? I’m trying to think of one without, and I all I can come up with is Chanel.  Dior finally did it this year too so it’s probably coming. And since Bourjois OWNS Chanel, I think this might be a preview. 🙂

  • Cuuuuuute! I like this shade a lot.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      Thanks! Me too!

  • I like peach and I like the beach too! 🙂 hahaha. Wow Tracy, this color is AMAZING! I still haven’t tried lip crayons, but I must!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

🙂 See that’s why we are friends! People who like peaches and beaches are COOL. 🙂
You must! Avon/Mark makes nice ones too that are cheap and I like them a lot!

  • Hey Tracy, the SPF regulations seem to be really tricky. Products that are considered to have SPF in one country aren’t necessarily labeled as so in another. Maybe that’s why Bourjois covered it to sell in Canada?

Love this shade on you! I swatched one or two in Taipei and I was pretty impressed! I have one Clinique Chubby Intense and I like it, but I haven’t developed a soft spot for this type of products so far. You never know though 😉

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Maybe? The ones in the UK say SPF 15 on them in the exact spot though. Here in Canada SPF is considered a drug and needs a DIN #. It’s a pain in the ass to get approved.

  • Icaria

Yup the SPF regulation is annoying! I used a A-Derma cream where they couldn’t say it had it due to the testing process. I love the color but am so not a fan of crayons, don’t like the chubby name either lol. I like a real nice looking l/s iykwim. 🙂

    • TracyBeautyReflections

It is so annoying! I like lip pencil thingys as long as I don’t have to sharpen!

  • Interesting about SPF rules. Anyway, what a pretty color, plus I’m always partial to crayon-style lip products

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Thanks Catherine! Me too-I like the ease of use!

  • Oh oh sneaky sneaky! I love it!! You are probably right about the whole SPF thing, makes sense. This is a lovely color on you!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

🙂 I bet I am right! Thanks Margo! I love it!

  • Lisa

I bought all 3 the other week because I have NO self control! I love them! So moisturizing and I love the color payoff and how they wear on my lips!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

HAHAHA I love you Lisa-a girl after my own heart! xo
How’s the bright pink one? I think I’m going to get it too because they do rock!

      • Lisa

It is stunning! You need to get it and even the orange (I never thought I’d wear that color on my lips) is really wearable for the girl that isn’t into super trendy colors on her lips. xoxo

      • TracyBeautyReflections

Hahahaha ok that sells it for me! xo

  • What an awesome colour! I love Bourjois: they make my powder of choice (discontinued now outside of Asia, sadly – hooray for eBay). I have two of the Revlon crayons and I really enjoy them, but I haven’t tried the Clinique ones yet either. Maybe I will now that they’ve introduced the ‘intense’ range.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Yeah that’s why I never bought them-too sheer, but these Intense ones do look promising!
I love Bourjois too-it’s like cheap Chanel for me!

  • So many of these lip crayon things coming out now! I’d love to try this one but I’ll have to wait till I get to a Bourjois counter. I still don’t understand why we don’t have Bourjois here >.<

    • TracyBeautyReflections

I know! So many is right! I can’t believe you guys don’t have it-that’s weird! I thought for sure you would!

  • So random! Tonight I was sifting through my lip drawer and pulled out Clinique Woppin’ Watermelon CS! I might wear it tomorrow! Then I see this post! I used to think I was immune from silly things like product names and packaging adorableness, but that’s a total and utter LIE. I LOVE cute names and precious packaging! My last lipstick purchase was named “Honey Bear” for heaven’s sake! I have had my eye on Tarte’s Blushing Bride powder blush for EONS b/c I’m gonna be one of those next year and I kind of want it! But it’s not a shade I usually reach for so I’ve let my sense win that mental battle. I love Peach on the Beach on you! I’m starting to feel like you’re one of those magical mystical creatures who can pull off any lipstick color! You’re up there with Rema/The Burgundy Book and Michelle/Lipstick Rules! You sell those hotcakes, no matter what bright shade they are! It’s truly inspiring for this lover of all things sheer and “pinky brown”, lol!!! XOXO

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Hahaha magical mystical creature hahahaha I like that! I should try some dark brown 90s lippies, hey? I’ve never tried them before because in the early 90s I was a young mommy so makeup was something I just didn’t do. Wear that Woppin’ Watermelon and BE PROUD girl! hahahaha!

      • YES!! Time to bust out the browns! I have a strong feeling they’ll be back in style soon! 🙂

  • Lily

I don’t care about the name. This looks GREAT on you!! Too bad Bourjois is not available here.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Hahaha thanks Lily! Yeah I’m surprised it’s not there too.

  • Ahhhh if only Bourjois were still available here–I would be ALL over this one. The color is soo pretty and perfect for summer! Love it on you, Tracy!! 🙂

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Thanks Becca! Yeah, it’s too bad it’s not there anymore for you guys. It’s a pretty great brand!

  • I saw these just the other day! I’d be tempted because I love lip crayons but, really, you know I shouldn’t be buying anything for the next couple of months – or at least until I’ve tried everything I brought back from my trip!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Hahaha I felt exactly that way when I cam back from Europe!

  • Emma Bovary

I really like this colour, it must be said that I am a sucker for a good lip crayon though. Crayon type products in general are really floating my boat right now!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

It’s really bright in person too! 🙂 Me too, I like crayon thingys-easy to get close to my weird lip line haha!

  • TracyBeautyReflections

I want the pink one too now!

  • harro lip crayon let me have you. yea i totally think everyon’es got a lip crayon now.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

🙂 hahahahaha you are the best hahahaha

      • glad to add hilarity to your day. lol 🙂 i love your blog

  • Liz

Is it silly that Bourjois’s super plasticky packaging repels me? I like some of their stuff but never feel spendy for so much plastic shell. This shade is really nice though. 😡

    • TracyBeautyReflections

      No hahaha, I hear ya!

  • I noticed the lack of SPF thing too when Benefit released their Oxygen Wow foundation last year. I think you’re right that they just covered it up so as not to get in trouble with laws. What a pretty shade! There isn’t much Bourjois selection at my local SDMs though I don’t think. 🙁

I don’t think wet n wild has lip crayons yet… oh and Benefit I don’t think? I’d gladly snatch up both.

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Wow, I wonder of a lot of brands do it now? It’s kind of genius actually.
Yeah, both of those I’d get too!
