Fresh. Glowy. Pink. Pretty!
That’s what I think of when it comes to bridal makeup. And if you’re the mama of the bride to be(or the mother of the groom), you want to look fresh and glowy and pretty-but pink? I know what you’re thinking because it’s exactly what I think about pink: pink is a little…well…young. I’m going to show you a more mature fresh, glowy, pink makeup that you’ll feel comfortable wearing to your daughter’s Bridal Shower or Wedding, especially if its held at this Cheshire wedding venue!

#1. Apply an eye shadow primer to keep your makeup in place all day long. I used Mary Kay Cream Eye Colour in Pale Blush which is a light, pale pink all over my eye lid.
#2. Apply Laura Mercier Africal Violet Eye shadow which is a gorgeous pinky violet with some copper shimmer, all over the lid with a flat shadow brush.
#3. Use the bronze-brown shade from the Hourglass Gyspy eye shadow duo as your crease colour and apply it with a fluffy brush, softly blending it out. Hourglass Cosmetics eye shadows are AMAZING for more mature eyes because the shimmer is grown up and doesn’t settle into any fine lines.
#4. Use that same bronze shade to line your bottow lash line and frame your eyes if you need it. I find with my grey hair I need to define my eyes a bit more, otherwise they tend to disappear into the rest of my features and get swallowed up by my full cheeks!
#5.Use a flat liner brush to push a dark brown eyeshadow into the base of your upper lashes to define the upper lash line. I have hooded eyes, so I push my liner right into the roots of my lashes so that it doesn’t take up valuable real estate on my lids and cover up my eye shadow. You can use an eyeliner if you wish instead, but keep the line soft and smudged.
#6. After curling your lashes, use a really great waterproof mascara that curls and defines. The Givenchy Noir Couture 4-in-1 Mascara is my favourite and it’s new for this summer. It stays put, but isn’t hard to remove like most other waterproof mascaras.
Don’t forget to fill in your brows! Eyes are done!
My favourite foundations at the moment are from Hourglass Cosmetics. My skin (and most mature skins) is a tad dry, so the Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer($64CDN) gives some needed moisture, plus has awesome coverage for a tinted moisturizer. The Hourglass Oxygen Mineral Powder Foundation($52 CDN) is also wonderful, and a light dusting gives some extra coverage where needed. I know a bright pink blush can be scary, but the Dior Rosy Glow adapts to your skin tone, giving you a custom pinky flush that won’t look too juvenille on mature cheeks.
The secret weapon for this look and what should be in your makeup arsenal is the Hourglass Ambient Powder in Diffused Light. It’s a pale yellow powder that not only neutralizes any redness in skin, but also blurs any fine lines and wrinkles and makes makeup last all day long. Seriously, you need it! Everyone needs it. You’ll wonder how you lived without it this long!
A pretty peachy pink gloss is all you need, and the Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in RD203($25 CDN) adds the perfect, pop of colour to mature lips! It’s long-lasting too and moisturizing, so it’s perfect to wear today! More of a liquid lipstick, the formula is outstanding and I definitely want more of these.
