Quick Beauty Products For An Easy Breezy Summer! And A Review of Sephora Skin Perfect CC Cream!

I can feel it. It’s finally here: Sunny, warm, beautiful weather! Did you know that Alberta enjoys the highest number of sunny days in Canada — more than 2,300 hours of sunshine each year? Even in winter the sun shines brightly and sunglasses are a necessity! In June, daylight hours can reach 16 to 18 hours per day because Edmonton is so far up north. On the eve of summer solstice, I swear the sun never sets that night. Actually, on most summer nights the sun sets around 11:00 pm in Edmonton. I like to believe that we get more hours of daylight in Alberta so that we have more time to enjoy the short span of warm weather we get. It’s the reward for having to endure all the snow and cold and snow and cold…it’s only fair, right? Right!

Once it gets warmer and sunnier, I look for beauty products that are easy to use and will help me get out of the house quickly to enjoy the short, sunny summer! Here are a few I’ve been loving lately:

Nexxus Hydra-Light Leave-In Conditioning Foam($12.99 CDN) is a weightless conditioning treatment that locks in moisture and shine, preventing flyaways and frizz—even when it’s raining or humid. It has hydrating polymers and deep-sea minerals that coat your hair to keep your hair frizz-free throughout the day. And it smells great too! The Nexxus Hydra-Light Root Lift Mist($12.99 CDN) is a lift & shine spray that targets roots to lift hair and give added fullness & body. It’s silicone-free too. Since I have curly hair, I tend to just let my hair air-dry in the summer, and this helps give my roots some much needed lift. It also helps control frizz and has the same fresh clean smell!

If there was a Noble Beauty Prize(or is there?), then the genius that invented Vaseline Spray and Go Moisturizer($9.99 CDN) deserves it I say! This is the fastest, lightest moisturizer I’ve ever used and is perfect for summer. You just spray it on, rub it in and it INSTANTLY absorbs leaving your skin feeling moisturized but dry to the touch. You can get dressed right away and go enjoy the sun!

Sephora Skin Perfect CC Cream SPF 20 in the shade medium

Sephora Skin Perfect CC Cream SPF 20 is something new and this is a product that will get you ready in a flash. It instantly corrects and perfects your skin in one step. It hydrates, minimizes the appearance of pores, evens skin tone and even has antiaging sea kale extract to smooth the appearance of fine lines. Plus it has SPF 20 to protect your skin as well, although I do wish it was at least SPF 30. The shade I was sent is way too yellow and dark for my skin as you can see, but I did test it out around the house. Sephora Skin Perfect CC Cream SPF 20 doesn’t really have a lot of coverage, but it does a pretty good job of minimizing redness, of which I have A LOT of since I’ve started using glycolics again. It’s the price I pay for smoother skin! I like the way it feels-nice and light and the way it evens out my skin. I set it with powder which I do think it needs as it is a bit dewy, and it lasted all day as I putzed around the house. But is a CC Cream so much different than a BB Cream? Not sure about that. Don’t BB Creams and foundations already cover redness anyways? Sephora Skin Perfect CC Cream SPF 20 costs $26 US and will be $31 CDN but for some reason it’s still not available on the Canadian Sephora site yet. Since I received a sample to test out I assume it will be available here shortly!

I don’t know about you, but I love nail art. I just don’t have the time and patience OR eyesight to create something so intricate on my nails. I’d need one of those really big magnifying glasses-REALLY BIG. These new L’Oreal Colour Riche Nail Lingerie 3D Stickers($9.99 CDN) will make your nails look like you are a nail art pro in just a few minutes. They are TRANSPARENT designs you put over your favourite nail colour ! They have little jewels, or glitter on them and really look like you did the design all by yourself. They are easy to apply and last for a good week too since they protect your nail polish. That’s what I call worry-free summer beauty!

Simple Eye Make-Up Remover Pads($9.99 CDN) are great to take off your eye makeup quickly. They are easy to use and work really well. Just wipe and go! They even remove waterproof mascara which is a summer staple for me. They don’t sting eyes like a lot of eye makeup removers do, because Simple makes products for sensitive skins. They contain Pro-Vitamin B5 and Vitamin E to keep skin soft, are safe for everyone.

TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection Shine Spray($7.49 CDN) is infused with keratin, and reduces frizz and acts as a barrier from heat styling tools. I don’t blow dry my hair at the moment, but Marky does and her hair frizzes up like crazy from the heat. This does a great job of sealing the cuticle and reducing frizz which saves her time.

What are some of your favourite summer beauty products that help you get ready quickly?

And-what do you think of this CC Cream business? Yay? Or Nay?

*products sent by PR for review, thoughts and redness are my own thank you very much;)

That Sephora CC Cream looks great on you! It minimizes the redness on your skin, and it’s evened out nicely :-)

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Thanks Lily! It does a good job for sure! I just need a lighter shade is all. :)

The CC cream does look like it helps with redness! But eh, there are too many of these things out and about now anyway. Confusing.

I don’t change up that many things for summer, but my hair is killing me. I’m tired of it… >_<

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Haha time for a cut maybe? I know I kind of detest mine right now-it’s so long! A few more months and I’m gonna CHOP.

Okay, that sun stuff totally makes sense. I always wonder how people can live out there in all that snow and cold most of the year but the sunshine makes up for it. I don’t mind sunny winter days as much either!

I’m testing out the same hair stuff but I hate hair so it’s slow going, lol. And I’m surprised by how much coverage that CC cream is giving you. I hate BBs/CCs/etc and they are NOT for my skin at all, but wow!

    • TracyBeautyReflections

Yeah it’s pretty decent, hey? I think I’m going to get the right shade to use. It would be great under powder foundations!
