Another bronzer is definitely something I don’t need. But I like them. A LOT. Maybe it’s because I’m so pale and I love how they add a bit of life to my skin. You know what I just realized? I’m a BRONZER FIEND. Every year when the summer collections start to roll out I tell myself: NO MORE BRONZERS. MO MORE.
But every year, they PULL ME BACK IN, no matter how hard I try to resist. I mean look at this new one from Clarins-I was a goner as soon as I saw it this past Saturday at the Shoppers Drug Mart Optimum Redemption Event. At least it was free! I LOVE FREE MAKEUP AS MUCH AS I LOVE CHOCOLATE.
Behold, the Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact($42 CDN):
Even the outside of the Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact is AMAZING. That 3-D design in the plastic compact is kind of mesmerizing, like for a few minutes mesmerizing too… it’s splendiferous…
And the inside, is JUST AS splendiferous and mesmerizing:
Has the Limited Edition embossed pattern inspired by the ruins of South America pulled you in yet? Let’s try one more beauty shot:
It’s got you now too, right? Right?
Ok, maybe LUCKY YOU is immune to the pull of bronzers. But if you are indeed looking for a new one this year, then this one should totally be on your list to check out.
The outside sections of the Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact includes two shades of bronzer that are matte, while the little peachy gold centre adds some radiance. This is one big bronzer, so you can totally just dip your brush around the outside and avoid the gold centre if you wish.
See? BIG. Almost the size of my hand big. I swear bronzers get bigger and bigger every year. Which also means that I have enough bronzer to last me until I’m 90. And yes, I’ll be still wearing bronzer in my 90s. Gotta look like I belong on the lido deck playing shuffleboard, ya’ know?
This swatchy picture I took in bright sunlight:
Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact is so smooth and finely milled, so silky to the touch it’s hard to describe even. It’s what all powders aspire to be like. I used to think that Guerlain powders were the pièce de résistance, but I think Clarins has been beating them lately. The radiance centre part doesn’t add any sparkles that I can see either, it just adds a glow.
This blends so beautifully onto the skin, has excellent pigmentation and has no powdery kick-up at all-it’s just plain PERFECTION. It wears all day for me too-easily into the 12 hour mark before it fades. In the pic I’m wearing it all by itself-no blush at all. LOVE it.
If you’ve never tried anything from Clarins, this is the product to get. If you need a new bronzer, or if you’re just a bronzer fiend like myself, then Clarins Splendours Summer Bronzing Compact won’t disappoint at all.
Cross my Bronzer/Blush Fiend heart.
Are you a Bronzer Fiend too?
