I know I’ve been showing a lot of pastels lately, but the spring trend is sorbet shades for eyes, lips, nails-everything is light and bright! And I also know that keeping up with trends can get expensive. Truthfully, when something is considered a “trend” I myself tend to give products the “stink eye”-you know-that why should I spend THAT much money on you if you’re just a trend stink eye. I’ve had to use my stink eye quite a bit this year. Why throw your money at something you may only use a few times?
That’s why I LOVE Avon and mark. so much- their products are affordable and honestly have been wowing me a lot lately. A LOT. AND even shaming some of the higher end products I’ve tried.
This is The mark. On The Dot Pastels Eye Color Compact and hold on to your trend loving heart, because you won’t believe how GOOD this is!
mark. On The Dot Palettes are best-selling compacts and this time around, it’s filled with nine Easter egg coloured shades just in time for spring. These are high-impact, frosty metallic eyeshadows that are so pigmented I can’t believe it.
Swatchy time! It was hard to get all nine shades in one shot, but I tried and then kind of took two shots closer up for you because they focused better. Anything shiny and my camera FREAKS out. It obviously wouldn’t have been able to take the 80s like some of us... poor, boring little camera…
WOWZA. And you know what else? They are CREAMY. CREAMMMMMY.
So creamy in fact that using an eyeshadow brush IS OPTIONAL.
Yup, you heard me. NO BRUSHES.
For these looks I tested out, I didn’t use any brushes at all. NOT ONE. Just my fingers!
HEY?? Now that’s some powerful pastels! You can use a brush if you like, but why? These are so creamy that using your finger is just easier in my opinion and gives a better opacity and blend to the shadows. I applied the shadows over Urban Decay Primer Potion and they lasted ALL DAY.
The mark. On The Dot Pastels Eye Color Compact is pretty much the BEST pastel eye palette I’ve seen yet! If there was a matte blending shade then it would have been the perfect spring palette ever, because you do need some mattes to ground your looks otherwise you risk looking like a crazy, shiny Easter disco ball- if there was such a thing. Now I’m wishing and hoping that there IS one. And that it spits out those Cadbury mini eggs as it spins around…if somebody knows if there IS an Easter disco ball like that, let me know…
The mark. On The Dot Pastels Eye Color Compact will be available in March and will retail for $18 CAN. That’s a STEAL for something trendy, especially compared to some of the higher end pastel palettes that are out there! Just call 1-800-265-AVON or go online at www.avon.ca!
Do you try to be on trend every year? Or are you a lone wolf and just be who you are-Awesome as ever?
