Chanel Fascination Les 4 Ombres from The Chanel Jeux de Regards Collection

I’ll be the first to admit that I am not a fan of Chanel Quads. I kind of hate them.

But the other day I saw Chanel Fascination Les 4 Ombres from The Chanel Jeux de Regards Collection, and…and…well…I couldn’t help it!

IT’S BLUES and you know how much I love me some blues!

Chanel Fascination Les 4 Ombres has a blackened teal that reminds me of MAC Plumage but it’s easier to work with. There’s a shimmery dark grey, a dove grey that looks almost baby blue swatched on me, and a shimmery blue with some teal undertones to it.

I know it’s really nothing THAT special right? You think I’m nuts to pay $61 CAN for this, but you wanna really know why I got it? Why I’m willing to deal with Chanel baked eyeshadows that I don’t really like? That dove baby blue shade is why. I’ve been looking for a shade just like that to do some retro looks with! I’ve been craving retro looks and I think it’s the perfect shade! Not too blue on my eye, but just the right amount. It would look KILLER with a winged out liner and an orange red lipstick I think. I haven’t been this excited about an eyeshadow shade in ages can you tell?

For a Chanel Quad, Chanel Fascination Les 4 Ombres isn’t all that bad. It’s a little easier to work with than I remember others I’ve had, being slightly better in pigmentation and the colours do blend together nicely. This is more like a Guerlain quad-sheerer shadows that you can build up in intensity except there’s just a tad more fallout, especially if you’re doing a more smokey blue look with the quad. And it does that so well too as you can see! This is a very sophisticated kind of blue eyeshadow quad, and I like it! As I’m getting older, I’m appreciating sheerer eyeshadows, as really bright pigmented ones look just a bit too much on me lately. And with blues I don’t want BAZINGA! on my eyes anymore. I want bazinga! if ya’ know what I mean. But that teal blue will deliver plenty of BAZINGA if you want it to!

Also, the Taupe Fiend in me COULDN’T say no to this:

Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof Long Lasting Eyeliner#84 in Taupe. TAUPE. In an EYELINER. ME LOVE IT.

If you’ve ever seen the infamous Chanel Fauve Eyeshadow Single, then this is like that shade in eyeliner form and it’s all taupey and sparkly! I love these eyeliners because they really stay put no matter what. My eyes tend to water sometimes-more like drip constantly, and my makeup just gets washed away in the outer corner. When that happens I reach for a Chanel Waterproof eyeliner because I know it’ll stay. Plus I have to say, it goes really well with the quad!

I still can’t believe I bought a Chanel Quad, but there it is! I am quite happy with these two splurges though, and will get LOADS of use from them. But that’s it guys! NO MORE. I have a couple of things I got for my birthday from my husband that I want to post about, but I am done buying for now! My daughter has been applying to American colleges and we’ve heard from her second choice yesterday-she got in! YAY!! Now we’re just hoping she gets into her dream school soon too! We should hear in a couple of weeks about that one. Either one is SO MUCH MONEY$$$$$ and my eyes are twitching now….loans here we come again… and I’m looking for a shoebox to live in too…one with plumbing preferably…..EEEEEP.

Do you love blues as much I do? Or do they scare you off?
And got a nice, sturdy shoebox I can live in?
