I’m going to be honest with you guys: I HATE LIQUID FOUNDATION.
Phew! That feels SO GOOD to finally get it off my chest! It’s the God honest truth. I really do hate liquid foundation. I love applying it on other people, I love the way it looks on other people… but on my skin I absolutely HATE it. Most foundations just look too much on me. Unnatural. Like I have a mask on. And I can’t stand the feeling of liquid foundation on my skin. My face feels like it is suffocating. It’s the same feeling I get when I wear a turtleneck, which for me is like being slowly strangled by a really weak guy all day long. And I know my face hates liquid foundations, because most of the time after a few days of foundation wear, I break out. I’ve kind of given up on liquid foundations. I’ve banned them. NO MORE LIQUID FOUNDATIONS.
I’ve gone back to my makeup roots. Yup. Before this little HUGE makeup hobby got out of control, I only used mineral makeup on my face. I love Everday Minerals(and I want to try their new jojoba base still), Laura Mercier Mineral makeup, Bare Escentuals, MAC Mineralized SkinFinish Natural, and of course, Jane Iredale PurePressed Base which as you know I’VE HIT PAN ON IT. I’m so happy I could cry. I have to thank Jane @Daly Beauty again for getting me hooked on it. Thanks Jane!
I was going to buy a refill of the Jane Iredale soon. But I don’t have to right now.
This is Make Up Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation. I LIKE IT. A LOT. As much as my Jane Iredale. It’s that GOOD.
Make Up Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation has vegetal coated bio-mimetic pigments which lets you customize your finish. Meaning, you can use it dry to get a matte full coverage, OR use it wet to get a satin, more sheer coverage.
I was matched to #115, which by the way is the same shade I wear in the Make Up Forever HD Foundation, and it’s a perfect match for me.
There’s a sponge compartment under the powder, and the back has some ventilation to let your sponge air dry out. Smart!

See? Pretty perfect match I have to say! There are 25 shades to choose from so there’s bound to be one that matches you too.
Now I have dry skin lately. Really dry actually. I can’t even think about wearing any kind of foundation without the Hourglass No.28 Primer. It’s the only primer that makes my dry skin feel normal again. After I let that magic elixir sink into my skin, I decided to try Make Up Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation the first time dry, and applied it with a kabuki brush all over my face. Boy, did it ever cover! I could build up the coverage where I needed more like on my cheeks and it never felt heavy or caked up. As the day went by it did feel a little drying, but when I looked in the mirror, it still looked really good with no flaking or dryness visible to the eye. It lasted all day-easily 12 hours without budging. I was impressed.
The next day, I decided to use Make Up Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation wet. I wet my Beauty Blender and dabbed it into the powder and then onto my face. It went on smoothly, covered really well, looked natural, didn’t settle into my pores at all, and felt amazing. Again, by the end of the day it feels a tad dry-less dry than before, but that feeling was so miniscule this time and didn’t translate at all on the face. It lasted all day and looked good all day too. Here’s what it looked like:

I have been using Make Up Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation for one week now and every time I use it I love it even more. I can’t believe how good this powder looks on the skin! And it photographs so well too! I think it would also make a great finishing powder to give you that extra bit of coverage and make your liquid foundation last longer. Perfect for events like weddings! If you’re a bride to be, you seriously need to try this stuff out.
I think it would be absolutely brilliant for oily and combination skin. If your skin is dry like mine, it’ll work too, but just remember to use a really good moisturizer before hand and you’ll like it better when used wet. Oh, and I also set it with the Jane Iredale D20 Hydration Spray, which btw is another of my holy grails actually.
You can get Make Up Forever Pro Finish Multi-Use Powder Foundation right now online at Sephora for $42 CAN. It’ll be available in stores as of February 1st, 2013.
So, what’s the dealio? Are you a liquid foundation girl, or a powder foundation girl?
