This might surprise you, but I haven’t used my Clarisonic in a long, long time. I think it might be getting close to 6 months now actually. It’s stored away in my beauty closet indefinitely.
You probably think I’m crazy, hey? That might be true, but let me explain.
The reason I don’t use it anymore, is that I was finding it was just too much for my skin. My face was always red, and my cheeks were still dry and patchy. I was constantly picking off dry skin with tweezers after putting on foundation. ANNOYING. So I cut back to just using it at night for awhile, but nothing changed. I then started using it only 3 times a week. But doing that made it easier to just forget to use it. And since it was taking up valuable real estate on my small bathroom counter, I put it away. And honestly I haven’t missed it. My skin is happier without it! At least I think it is. 🙂
But sometimes, my skin needs a little bit of exfoliation. Like now. With the weather changing, my skin is changing too and getting drier, which means flakes are happening again. And I’m not really keen on the scrubby grainy exfoliators, as they pretty much break me out every time I try one.
The Sephora Face Complexion Brush has come to my rescue!
I love this thing! It’s so simple, but so effective. The handle is a good length and the bristles are soft. It works with any cleanser and does a great job of removing any makeup or dirt. My skin feels smooth and soft after using it and not irritated at all. I use it at night on days I’m wearing makeup(I don’t wear makeup every day) and really find that it does a great job for the $7 CAN price tag. Oh, and this would be great to take traveling as well, as it does come with a plastic cap to protect the bristles. All in all, it’s a great little addition to my cleansing routine and taking care of any dry flakies. Win!
What do you use to exfoliate with? Do you still love your Clarisonic?
