I’ve taken a long time to finally tell you my thoughts on my first Tom Ford Blush in Love Lust.
I know I’ll probably get blasted by the beauty blogosphere, but it’ll be my last Tom Ford Blush.
Surprised? So am I!
Tom Ford Love Lust Blush is a gorgeous peachy pink blush with gold and pink shimmers. What’s not to love, right?
The shimmers don’t show up on the cheek though which I do like. It becomes a really pretty glow, but if you’re not careful it might be a bit too much glow for the day. The formula is superb-really finely milled, creamy and blends effortlessly onto the cheek. It’s everything a blush should be.
So why am I not that impressed?
I’ve got a lot of blush as you know. A LOT. Well not that much many anymore since I’ve culled the stash, but I’ve tried a lot of blush! Any new blush that enters my stash at this point has to have something different about it, something unique enough that makes it stand out from the others. Like I said, the formula of Tom Ford Love Lust Blush is really nice so I guess that makes it qualify. Maybe it’s just the colour of Love Lust, but I just don’t find it all that unique. On my cheeks it ends up looking a lot like NARS Orgasm which honestly ain’t one of my faves to begin with. I think because of all the rave reviews Tom Ford blushes get I was expecting this to be The One Blush To Rule Them All. Tom Ford Love Lust Blush is nice, but I just don’t find myself reaching for it as often as I thought I would. Honestly, I like my Burberry blushes better. And my Chantecaille blushes. And I have a new blush(es) from Le Metier de Beaute that knocks my socks off(review coming soon!).
So my verdict is that if you really want a Tom Ford Blush and there’s a colour that’s unique enough for you, then get it. But is it really worth it? Well, again, that’s up to you and how much use you’ll get from that shade. I am not sad that I have Tom Ford Love Lust Blush, just a little let down I guess. Maybe if I had gotten one of the other shades I’d be more enthusiastic about it, but I have to be honest! And honestly even the great formula and texture is just not enough to make me lust after another one of these expensive babies in another shade. Been there done that.
So what do you think? Am I crazy? Or a sensible blush fiend?
