Taking Hourglass Aura Cheek Stain In Petal Out Of The Special Occasion Makeup Bag

I don’t even know why I do this because it makes no sense at all, but I do.

I buy things, try it once, LOVE it and then decide it’s so darn good that I keep it just for special occasions. Why waste it for wearing to the grocery store I tell myself?

But I don’t really have special occasions any more. No, no-now don’t feel sorry for me. I rather enjoy not having special occasions to worry about. I like my relaxed lifestyle A LOT. And if it still kind of bothers you, the next time we meet, you can buy me a nice steak dinner, ok? I’ll bring the vat o’wine.

So, I took this blush out of my Special Occasion Makeup Keeping Bag and gleefully wore it to go buy some flour yesterday!

This is Hourglass Aura Cheek Stain in Petal that I sprung for way back in December because I was a little apprehensive about going on the blush ban. Meet my last blush hurrah of 2011, if you will.

The Hourglass Aura Cheek Stains are housed in a twist up dispenser with a sponge tip applicator.

Hourglass Petal Cheek Stain, MAC Ever Hip Lipstick

Hourglass Aura Cheek Stain In Petal is a soft, light  pinky peachy creamy stain with a subtle shimmer to it. On the cheeks, it translates to a gorgeous lit from within glow, not sparkly cheeks which I was afraid of!

It has great slip for a stain and that gives you time to blend out the colour. I just use my fingers to apply and blend, and not the sponge applicator. I put a bit on my chubby cheeks and wait a few minutes, and then reapply a bit more. I find twice is the magic number for me and gives me a great healthy flush. On my dry cheeks, I get a good 6 hours of wear before it starts to fade, and it makes a great base for powder blushes. If you have oily skin, I don’t think it would last all that long on you, as it is fairly creamy and hydrating for a stain.

The only gripe I have about Hourglass Aura Cheek Stain In Petal is the applicator. If I haven’t used it in awhile, I find I have to twist it quite a bit to get some product out. But since it’s no longer banished to the Special Occasion Makeup Keeping Place it hopefully won’t do that anymore.

Do you have makeup that you save for special occasions?

If you do I say BUST IT OUT BABES! Let’s see it!
