Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow VS. Mac Shadestick

I bought this Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow #05 just outside of Paris, even though Kiko is an Italian brand. They had quite a few shades to choose from, but of course I was drawn to this one because it’s a Taupe.

Yes, I have a taupe problem and am willing to admit it. I should start a Taupe-aholics Anonymous group because I’d make a great president, no?

Now, these Kiko Stick Eyeshadows are very creamy compared to MAC Shadesticks. They are really easy to blend out and work with and this colour was so gorgeous.

Shade #05 is lighter than my MAC Shadestick in Street Cool though.  And I do find that because the Kiko Stick is so creamy, that it does crease a tiny bit on my eye. It does work nicely with a primer underneath though, and just like a MAC Shadestick makes an excellent base for powder eyeshadows.

But which do I prefer?

Actually, I like them both. A lot. The Kiko one tends to lighten up my taupe eyeshadows a bit, while the MAC Street Cool makes my taupes look smokier. The Kiko one has more sparkle to it, so that can be a bit much sometimes. It’s nice for evening, but in the day it can be a bit too sparkly looking. But, a matte eyeshadow over top calms down the sparkle.

So both of them are great additions to my taupe collection I have to say.

I mean, you really didn’t think that I couldn’t love a taupe, right? I just can’t. It would be sacrilege!

Oh, and if you’d like to join Taupe-aholics Anonymous, just let me know. We meet every Thursday. I have cookies. 🙂
