Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer is by far my new favourite drugstore concealer.

Most drugstore concealers are too dark for me, as I am pretty fair. At MAC I’d be an NW 15. Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer is a skin tone adapting concealer, therefore there are only 3 shades to choose from. I chose the lightest one which is 010 Ivory.

Just from swatching it I could tell that Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer was very creamy and very moisturizing! It’s also supposed to banish any signs of fatigue and illuminate the eye area while concealing dark circles.

Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer does a decent job at concealing my purple circles and even covers the sun damage on the underneath the outer corner of my eye, but boy does it illuminate the eye or what! Now I’ve tried the infamous YSL Touche Eclat and I can tell you that the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer does a better job at concealing and illuminating. It lasts all day for me too. And it matches my skin tone really well! That in itself is amazing for me. It doesn’t settle into any fine lines around my eyes at all either. If you have really bad dark circles though, you’d still need a colour corrector that’s peach or orange toned first, and then you could use the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer over top of that.

The only problem I have with the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer is the applicator.

The applicator is a brush style dispenser, much like the YSL Touche Eclat except that you squeeze the tube to release the product into the brush. It’s just way too hard to control how much you squeeze out and I get way too much product out. I also don’t use the brush to apply the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer, I use my fingers to lightly pat it on.

Otherwise, I’d have to say that the Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer is a lovely drugstore concealer and I highly recommend trying it out.

What’s your favourite drugstore concealer?

  • Drugstore concealer is an unexplored territory for me. I have a huge reluctance to try anything that's not L'Oreal. Maybe over time, as I read more lovely reviews like this… 🙂

  • This concealer sounds promising but not available here. Been using the Hide The Blemish from the same brand, not that bad either.

  • I'm with Liz. The drugstore concealers I've tried in the past have been okay at best. I love these click pen format concealers though, and I will definitely try this one. Thanks for the review!

  • I've tried most drugstore concealers, and some of my faves are the maybelline mineral power, and the revlon moisturizing creme. This one looks great, I've watched several youtube ladies rave about it too. Definitely will pick this one up!

  • and just wanted to say, I value your reviews greatly cause you are pale like me so when you say shades work for you, I can assume this will for me as well 🙂

  • @Arianne: It's not a click pen-you have to squeeze the tube, which I don't really like. @Justine: Thanks 🙂 I feel the same about your reviews because of your paleness!

  • Sounds nice :)From the drugstore, I like the maybelline age rewind concealer and illuminator duo. Squeeze tubes can sometimes be a problem to tackle. They dispense waaay too much. I'm not sure if I've seen this here though.

  • @Appu: You mean we have something that you guys don't for once? Wow-that's weird!

  • Can't say I can join your paleness group, but I do hear good thing about this concealer. How do you compare it with HC Glamoflage if you have it?

  • Halifax @ Sparkled Beauty: I wish I could tell you, but I can never get the HC Glamoflauge in my colour. 🙁 But I would say just from seeing reviews that this doesn't have the same coverage-way lighter.

  • Holy cow – and one year later this is my fave undereye concealer. Love how this beauty thing works!! LOL
